    Boltus released!

Boy I'm going to look like a fool in my Boltus jersey at IGF this year...

    Boltus released!

It's obvious that Burke as a head coach let his DC tendancies take over and he HATED seeing touchdowns. So like a good defensive coordinator he came up with a gameplan to neutralize Goltz. It's a lot easier when you can just bench a player rather than having to stop them!

  3. Neiswander is not in Willy's league by a long shot. He's still very raw and very flawed in his game. Don't want him here whatsoever.

  4. We're so aggressive that when we make an offer, we also counteroffer our offer and then counteroffer our counteroffer.

  5. Well sir, while I may not agree with what you say, I'll defend to the death your right to say it. IMO Neiswander has a much better arm than Max Hall, Hall struggles to throw over 10 yards. You would literally die to defend JBR's right to slam Josh Neiswander's arm strength on an internet message board?

  6. But I've heard of him before!!! And he was in Montreal, every player they have is great!

  7. Yeah it's great Nieswander has an arm. Too bad he can't read a defence to save his life, or throw the ball accurately.

  8. If this team is all about making knee-jerk decisions to placate the fanbase, then why does it still wear navy blue instead of royal blue?

  9. Would actually much rather have Neiswander over Willy, so I'd be good with this, but the lack of QB depth we have/would have is scary. What actually worries me the most is how badly this organization is viewed, it's crippling the organization in a lot of ways. Neiswander is worse than Hall. Terrible arm.

  10. Even in that 2 team league I can't see either team winning. All they'd hand out at the end of the year is those colourful participation ribbons kids get for science fairs.

  11. Have there been good people let go, yes. Bauer getting rid of Dave Ritchie, for one. Bauer firing Doug Berry, another... But what does that come down to? Bad people running the show making bad decisions. I'd argue that when Lyle Bauer took over the Bombers in 1999 he did a great job for a number of years but as time went on the team became his little fiefdom as he got more & more powerful. Firing Berry & replacing him with the miserable & paranoid Mike Kelly showed he shouldn't have been running the team as long as he did. Then The BOG's let Bauer resign when he knew he was going to be fired & hired Joe Mack. He could have had Glenn last season but balked on the trade from the Stamps instead relying on a wounded duck of a qb in Pierce which killed this team. Why should Mack have been given more time? He had his chance. .

  12. It's not lack of patience it's consistently bad hires. In fact, I'd argue we don't fire folks who aren't doing their jobs like Mack soon enough. it is lack of patience. They have fired good people who may not have been great but good people at the first slip up and blown it all up time and time again. How can you build anything doing that? Have to give people more than 2 or 3 seasons to establish a long term foundation and THEN judge where the team is at. Who are these 'good people' you're talking about? The only one they fired that I didn't think deserve it was Berry and that wasn't about the fans or the media, it was about Bauer installing 'He who must not be named' as our HC and kinda GM. There is no need to give people 2 or 3 seasons to see if they can turn a chicken **** into chicken salad. If they aren't moving in the right direction, pull the plug and move on. Again... it's about making terrible hiring decisions, which has nothing to do with patience.

  13. In Macks first year he signed the 2 biggest experienced FA qbs on the market, not much difference than Walters trying to sign the biggest name on the market now. Not Macks fault that the guys hitting the market at that point weren't all that good or durable. We'll see how old man Burris holds up long term.

  14. Jessuz, really. I sure hope not. 8 wins would be a tremendous season for us. More realistically, I think we win 5-6, regardless of whether QB is Burris, Hall or Willy. All of them are the worst QB in our division by a long shot, at least Willy and Hall still have room to improve. We won 1 game against the West last season. Burris won 2. Coaching should be better, but we're also inexperienced and moving to a division with the 3 best teams in the league. Unless we sweep the East, it's hard seeing this team being anywhere close to .500. I think you are underestimating the acquisition of Matt Bucknor.

  15. This had crossed my mind a few times over the last couple days...it really would be our luck. For the sake of the long term health of this franchise, this absolutely cannot happen...and it won't. One, or both, of Hank and Willy will end up here. Believe!

  18. I don't care. As far as I'm concerned now after what just spewed from his lips...he's defence fodder. Logan's marching off to war. It's a Holy Crusade now!! Let's not rile him up any further .. I have to work with the guy! ;-) We have to teach him he made the wrong choice. And that the comments coming out of his hole are stupid. The one nice thing we have right now is our stadium. YOU DON'T BASH OUR STADIUM!!! He must pay for his insolent remarks. HAVE AT THEE!!!

  20. I hope he signs in Edm and Jones decides to cut Nicols. I'd rather have Willy, Nicols and Hall

  21. I'm to the point where I would be calling Taman to swing some sort of deal to get Willy and tell Hank to **** himself. Part of the deal with the Riders would be that the Bombers continuing to negotiate with Burris so Edm ends up paying and arm and leg for him. Bombers can then sign Willy and use the extra $$$ on signing some of the bigger name FA.

  22. Yeah, I really liked the first two trades he made but with this one and the Neufeld one it feels like he's been giving up too much. When I reflect back on on the last few years where visually nothing had been done involving trades to fill needs, I'm quite happy in that our GM is making inroads with other GMs. We have to remember, somewhere in the picture, there is knowledge that we're not privy to regarding these players, and on the surface maybe these trades may not make a whole lot of sense to us, but a whole lot of sense in the building/altering of our team. Pay a high price? Maybe. The cost of establishing oneself? Maybe. Necessary? Most definitely. I tend to believe Walters when he says "Believe me, every day we are working on making this team better."- Free Press -Feb 1

  25. Sometimes, you have to let receivers go if they aren't working out. And sometimes, they may catch on and play excel for someone else... For example Kamau Incom-Peterson, Adarius Bowman, Terrence Edwards (from MTL), etc...

  30. No offense, but I seem to recall a lot of people saying that Collaros in the Peg was automatic and now this fanbase makes it sound/seem as though Burris and Willy were the plan the whole time and suddenly it's a better situation. Sounds more like opinions changed because we couldn't take the cheerleader to the prom, so now acting as though taking the audio video geek was our first choice all along. I don't think anyone said it was automatic. People didn't think anyone else wanted or needed him. We were wrong. Big surprise. Stop twisting what people are saying. Also, I don't see anyone on here that thought Burris and Willy were the Bombers plan all along. Most of us thought they wanted Collaros. Some, like Mr. P said he wanted Willy and Burris, but most of us thought they were going to go after Collaros. He's gone now...we're moving on. What do you want us to do, continue to whine and ***** that we didn't get him and hold on to the past? No, we've let it go and now we're looking at who we want second since someone else won out on Collaros. Now we'd like to get Burris and Willy. Hopefully we at least get Burris. But you never know. If plan A doesn't work, you modify your goals and hope for plan B.

  31. We haven't won a GC since 1990 & it looks like the next one is light years away. I thought the first drought of 22 years (1962-84) was long, well this drought may go on for another decade the way things are going down with this team. Fans have a right to be impatient. Is the Bomber fanbase influencing personnel & coaching decisions? Sure, but that would happen with any team, in any city (in any pro sport) that has as bad an organization as we do. The Bombers themselves, thanks to the BODs with bad management & coaching hires did this to themselves. None of this is on the fans.

  33. Keep in mind, until Walters establishes himself, he's going to need to pay "sticker price" in some cases because there are some moves he just can't afford to miss on. He needs to be very careful in getting the moves that he wants completed to go through until he establishes a foundation that will allow him the luxury of passing on certain deals.

  34. the key to our success this year will be making sure that our Willy is adequately protected. Ironically he was getting good protection from Labatte in Saskatchewan, who didn't seem to use protection.

  36. The only logical conclusion I can come to is that this trade stemmed from Kito not wanting to give up the jersey number.

  37. Still would not want to thrust the kid into the starters job. We have too many holes for him to be successful. Could crush him like we have every other QB "prospect." Sign Willy first, then sign Burris -- or vice versa, whatever -- just get 'em both. Could be a really good team in 2015.

  38. This is why you hire guys like Danny Mac, for their expert opinion. You trust it and you make decisions based on it. if this is true (and there were rumours O'Shea wasn't as high on Collaros as some people) I'd suspect we see Willy in Blue & Gold as soon as possible. 40. Austin tried twice to extend his contract and Burris turned him down. ....And now back to the Austin Has No Loyalty Game. Source? Burris said he hadn't heard a peep from Austin all offseason about a contract extension.
