  1. All these hits to the head are "clean". But everytime it happens in hockey just like in football there are parents who will see that & refuse to let their kids play those sports so the question becomes, do you let those hits continue?

  2. Laine would have to put perform Matthews by far more than Matthews would have to put perform Laine to win the Calder.

  3. If the roster is fine except a 3rd pair D and 4th line who don't play enough to make a difference. .. then that means the problem is coaching

  4. Again, some in the media in Toronto have made up their mind who should win and the season is barely half over and they are neck in neck in points.

  5. No. It's Matthews and has always been. It's Matthews to lose. Bottom line. .. Toronto vs Winnipeg

  6. I'm not going to touch the second part of your post , but he has played the left side at times in his career at ND

  7. He was never going to win the Calder, as long as he continues to get better and help this team win and become a perennial playoff contender that's all that interest's me.

  10. I hoping by the end of Poolmans season that Chevy signs him the next day.

  11. Tucker Poolman has pretty good size 6'2" and just shy of 200 lbs, and he has some skills for sure ...

  12. They're probably getting close with Matt Nichols. That's my feeling. Kyle Walters admitted they don't have the same cap space they had going into this off season compared to last. That not all players on the 2016 roster would be back. I think this is one of those moves. To create cap space they have to release or not sign veterans in order to sign the players they want already on the roster as well as free agents in a bit over a month's time.

  14. If it truly was to make room for Nichols under the cap, they would have made sure to sign Nichols first with that extra room in mind. so that they knew what space would be available for Glenn. I agree with other posters that it was basically a good will gesture towards Glenn. Once Nichols is signed, they will know how much room they have left for Glenn or any other QB that they may have in mind to bring in.

  15. In the long run this team would be better served by getting another lottery pick this off season, maybe shed some veterans, and probably a new coaching staff, yes we might be starting all over again.

  16. Goalie

    Manitoba Moose

If you paid attention to other teams even in the NHL you'd realize that both Florida and Carolina have actually done the same thing. But instead of an actual goalie just dressed a member of the staff as backup. As a former goalie... I have to admit it would be awesome even if I didn't play. Just to dress for a pro team would be amazing. I actually dressed as backup for the St Boniface Saints when I was 16 or so.. didn't play for them. Had a practice b4 their game and their backup was sick and their coach asked if I could dress. It was cool. Best part. Was put in with 1 minute left cuz the team was winning 6 1. Faced 1 shot. Stopped it. Got a saints jersey in my closet because of it lol

  17. Why reference that? The time Glenn went down and we only had Dinwiddie was a perfect example of what happens when you have zero reps behind the starter. Had we any qb with experience we would of won that game.

  18. Assuming that Laine plays in the next game or only misses a couple who got the worst of the hit?

  19. Kevin Glenn is a FA but if they had signed him to a new contract then that would have been expensive or at least more expensive than re-signing Davis so his release does play into making room to sign Nichols under the cap for 2017. They wouldn't have been able to give all 3 qbs raises with new contract so I think it's a move to create space for the 2017 season in order to sign Matt Nichols.

  21. 4th goal: Morrossey let's O'Reilly walk out on front. Morrissey then lays down on the ice allowing him to slide around and out wait Helle. 3rd goal: buffalo wins draw. Toby sits on ice instead of clearing. Trouba can't clear. Tony let's saber skate right past him unmolested. 2nd goal: Jets don't clear the puck deeply. Bad line change. Morrissey and buff standing stationary ar blue line. Saber takes puck and is on break away from blue line. Helle almost makes amazing save. Goaltending was not the issue. D was the issue. Bad line changes was the issue. Lackadaisical play was the issue. This team underperforms consistently.

  22. WE took the game to them for over 45 minutes and didn't finish on a LOT of chances AGAIN. This game should have been out of reach by the third. Trouba didn't have a strong game. Armia needs to take Laine's place and move Staf up to the 2nd line and call Tanev back up. ESA MP L W Matthias Lowry Staf Copp Petan Tanev

  23. ... a smart one? What's the downside? Either you get paid money by a team you have no obligation to or you get cut and get a headstart on free agency.

  24. Man, Delvin Breaux's biography is crazy. He broke three vertebrae in high school, his college still honored his scholarship, he was kind of a player-coach in college for awhile, then he went to play in the super low minors (the Louisiana Bayou Vipers of the Gridiron Developmental Football League?) and onward to the AFL and Hamilton and today the NFL. Nice story.

  25. took ten minutes to first look up the free agent QBs and then skim 9 rosters .... another 2-3 minutes to guess the chances of any QB moving sometime in 2017

  26. Its just a microcosm for the greater control of media throughout the world... sports media is banal at its best. No big loss. These companies realize that fans will occupy whatever analysis was previously provided by 'sports reporters'... my advice to Wiecek is to write for JetsNation and start his own brand. Sports, in itself, is just a nice pointless activity where we can argue about random and meaningless statistics while we delude ourselves that we have some sort of attachment or influence on a multinational corporation whose basic responsibility is profit and not winning. It fulfils our base and gladitatorial instincts while keeping us restrained within civically acceptable mores. That being said, I will watch the game tomorrow and wait for Lawless and Order's 'analysis'.

    Rogue One *SPOILERS*

Oh good, You didn't post spoilers. LOL...I was leary about entering. I've heard there are actually quite a few surprises and spoilers in the movie. I'm not sure what, other then what TUP already mentioned. Yeah, let's go ahead and treat this thread as a spoiler thread. In which case, I'll see Mr. Thread again after Friday evening.
