#29 Walker was on the field practicing today with the rest of the squad. Excellent late summer weather. Players used no pads and no contact. Quick paced drills. Magnificent one hand catch drill were #33, #7,#5, and #1 caught my eye. Crew was vocal and loose. #23 was waving his hands around and pointy pointing a lot. Looks like a leader. #83 catches everything. #9, booted several 55 yard fg's, with room to spare. #2 was doing the holding. #80 looks like a hell of a talent. Big, smooth routes, soft hands. Several occasions the house noise was turned up to way past comfortable. Did not see ...#16.8 points

That's the best part.... Who's got the richer history - Well that's no debate. Most Cup appearances (still) and 10 Cup wins is better than 4. Hell, Bud Grant coached us to 4 wins all by himself! Oh, and who brought Western Canada it's first Cup? Thought so. OK - but what have you done for me lately - Thanks for asking! This year's 7-3 coupled with last year = 18-10 in our last 28 games, or a 64% win rate. That's 11 or 12 wins in a season. <<< Give me that kind of mark from here til the end of time, and this Bomber fan is happy. - - - - Really though.... 1990 is the dumbest Bombers insult ever. If I were a Rider fan, and I hadn't already off'd myself because of it, i'd mock the Bombers for 2007. Glenn this, Glenn than. 2007 Grey Cup is THE ONLY thing that franchise should hold over us. Luckily for us, half their fanbase now weren't watching back then5 points -

It makes me feel old that the father of a current Bomber was still playing football in 2000...5 points -
yeah he did...but Thorpe still offers more on offence and potentially ST's than Lankford does...that's the issue. Imagine having Harris, Flanders and Thorpe in certain sets...If the defense is trying to key on one of Flanders or Harris then most likely Thorpe is going to be isolated on one guy and we all know what he can do with yac and making guys miss, or just breaking a tackle...now imagine him one on one and breaking free in an open filed and not contending with the extra guy or two who are pre-occupied with Harris/Flander... instead of Lankford out there who cant play a part in that scheme and is usually just taking a corner out of the fraccass down a sideline5 points

Nothing underhanded about it at all, actually. Executing a trick play within the rules of the game is not underhanded at all. Keep reaching. It's always good for a chuckle in your ongoing crusade to always be "right"...5 points -
I only remember the Riders having 3 big plays on offence only because the Bomber defenders were out to lunch, Roosevelts TD, Marshalls big run and Grant's big catch and run. Other than that, they got their points off of the INT and Demskis punt return. In my world, had the Bombers just been assignment sound in the game, they win. If the Bombers don't shoot themselves in the foot again at the Banjo Bowl they should win comfortably. Now if the Riders win then we have to admit that the Bombers just aren't as good as we thought they were and that we need to start replacing players before things snowball.5 points

It was pretty consistent in the game though. I mean it's not a huge game changing thing but it shows the kind of class that Riders team has. Guess that's why clowns like Duron Carter fit in with that team.4 points

I've already considered the best way to get the Bomber's attention. At the next game, I see a reaction. A total fan reaction. Hundreds of fans dropping in the aisles and grabbing their hamstrings or wrists, and writhing about in sheer agony. Then , of course, the fans come up smiling and waving to the Bomber bench. That'll get noticed and have them talking. Then, the following Coach's show, alll these fans can phone in with their suggestions. Seems so easy...4 points

Bombers have given up 40 big plays. The next closest is Hamilton at 30. The high powered O we see is fantastic and all, but the D is just horrendous. Meanwhile, we have had 23 big plays, only Toronto and Hamilton have less (which is actually surprising and shows that this is a methodical O). To break it downs some..... Big plays surrendered per game: WPG - 4.000 HAM - 3.333 BC - 3.300 SSK - 2.889 OTT - 2.364 CGY - 2.300 EDM - 2.200 TOR - 2.182 MTL - 1.700 Big runs surrendered per game: WPG - 0.900 EDM - 0.700 HAM - 0.667 BC - 0.400 CGY - 0.400 MTL - 0.400 SSK - 0.333 TOR - 0.273 OTT - 0.182 Big passes surrendered per game: HAM - 2.111 SSK - 2.111 BC - 2.100 WPG - 2.000 OTT - 1.818 EDM - 1.400 TOR - 1.364 CGY - 1.300 MTL - 1.200 Note that I am not going to do a breakdown of the special teams rate per game because it is just embarrassing and shocking how bad it stacks up to the rest of the league (we need a new ST coordinator perhaps even worse than a new DC) The Hall bend but don't break, but actually break D is frustrating to no end. When the turnovers were rolling in it masked it a bit, but right now those are not coming.3 points -

the Bombers also threw the ball forward a lot in that game, in situations where it was against the rules to do it in all other situations unless the player throwing the ball was behind the line of scrimmage. Pretty under-handed to do something like that that isn't allowed in all other situations. They should be ashamed.3 points -

I don't mind some of the moves the Bombers have made since Wade got involved and really we are only about 3 players away from being in Calgary's league. Put it this way, if we had Stegall, Greg Battle and Ty Jones, in their prime on this team, we'd probably win it all.3 points

there is only one option here. If the ref blows the play in, and a player decides to fall over, the play must continue until the next whistle. Do that, and the play-acting stops immediately.3 points -

These people ALWAYS come out after a Bomber loss. It's like they enjoy the misery and controversy. Well luckily were 7-3 and haven't experienced a lot of losing. You would think we're the Hamilton Ti-Cats the way our own fans talk about our football team instead of having the second best record in the CFL3 points -

Who has been glossing over the fact that Winnipeg's defense needs to be better? No one. Hell I haven't been happy with our defense for a few years now. They need some pressure up front and have needed back end help for a while. I do think they have the players to do it BUT I don't think they have the schemes to get it done. We are particularly weak over the middle because our LBs insist, for the most part on being up near the line and getting trapped in that mess rather than hang a few yards off both spying the RB and getting in the passing lanes. On the back end they back way the hell off and hope that their close speed and shoulder tackles are going to work. As for our offense, they may not be glamorous but they have consistently put up lots of points. I, personally, don't freaking give two craps if they have to dip and dunk or blast it over the top to get the points or if it comes in threes or sixes as long as at the end of the day they have more point on the board than the opposition. The margin of the win might mean something to some fans out there but in the end, whether it is a blow out or a overtime win by a point a team gets two points. Win or lose there is always something to fix.2 points -
