  3. All I know is Lefevour went to the Argos and within the first month of joining the team he put up 300 yards in his first game and nearly the same in the 2nd against the Blue... with 4 td passes. The guy may not be a world beater but he's light years better then the crap like Boltus, Brohm , Brink, and Goltz.....

  8. So we have a guy who is excellent at short yardage, best in the league by far, but he needs to be replaced by someone who probably isn't as good at it, because "development"? And anyone who thinks that the guy who comes in to play the rest of the game if Nichols gets injured is the backup, rather than the guy who comes in for short yardage downs, is "delusional"? Hmm, when I write it out like that, it just doesn't sound like something I'd vote for in the next election.

for a defensive end...not much speed to get up to to have a guy step right in. Other than a few different schemes we run, it probably one of the easiest spots to step into in football with minimal time with a team

  15. Must have been a bye week. We're discussing our 3rd string QB in multiple threads. From what I've seen LeFevour has benefited from coming in off the bench and beating teams with his athleticism. Once teams prepare for him as the starter, he struggles to sustain it for multiple games. It seems like once he's expected to run the plays as called by the coach, his success drops off quickly. Just one mbrgs opinion, of course.

BITS AND PIECES... ?‍?There is a technical term for what Darian Durant is going through. It is called the yips. A John Hodge proposal - Winnipeg defensive tackle Drake Nevis for Saskatchewan receiver Caleb Holley The Riders recently lost 320-pound newcomer Nick James to injury, leaving a sizeable hole in the middle of their defensive line. Enter Nevis, the plus-size free agent signing who has failed to live-up to expectations in Bomberland. Holley, meanwhile, has averaged 57 receiving yards per game in his young CFL career and would bring some much-needed size to Winnipeg’s receiving corps. Nevis and Holley are free agents at the end of this season, allowing both clubs to get to know their new players before committing long-term. - http://3downnation.com/2017/09/18/four-trades-that-should-be-made-before-the-deadline/ "You can see the excitement of guys getting back here." - Matt Nichols ?‍?I have to ask...Who's the Alouettes' QB coach? 33. It worked well at the start of the year because defences were not expecting it. Now they are. There are 7 or 8 plays that LeFevour could run in that package regularly and still keep defences guessing, but over the last few games it's strictly been running the read-option. They've gone from taking a package that caught defences unprepared to one where defences are prepared and added predictability to the playcalling. It could still work as well as it did in the beginning, but read-option to the left side has to be retired for a while. If only faking a read-option and throwing downfield had a chance we could catch teams cheating, but odds are that wrinkle just leads to a fumble and some dental work for LeFevour.

  35. The only way I'd see us losing this game is if Nichols and the offense threw an absolute stink bomb out there and allowed Lindley multiple opportunities to make a win happen. I just don't see that though with how I think we'll utilize Harris and Flanders to wear out the D as has been our MO. If we get this game going into a track meet, I do not believe Lindley has the experience nor the toolset to be able to keep it close.

  36. Very likely? We're assuming that neither Edmonton nor BC pulls out of their skid here, and let's be honest, the Riders looked awfully ordinary in the Banjo Bowl, just because they bounced back and beat Masoli and the ti-cats doesn't suddenly make them a great team. Lots to be decided still.

  37. Yeah the Lefevour signing to me was kind of a meh...and I figured a waste, but what he is here for and does during games, and the veteran presence here in case if it happens Davis has to take over for a game or two, and doesn't produce is actually a good thing. Pretty sure he could be that actual "game manager" to get us a few wins if it came to it, and with his running threat could open up a lot of other options with what we have on offence. Wouldn't want to hang my hat on him as the full-time starter, but if he is a cap friendly salary I would say he should be a must re-sign come this offseason

Well, too damned bad. The coaches had bogged down the game with their stupid fishing expeditions. the game has more flow to it & is much more enjoyable to watch. Blaming a lack of challenges is reaching & just a crutch. Guys like Maas & Buono have no one to blame but themselves they lost the ability to have more challenges. Those days are never coming back. Refs need to be held accountable. If a team has a bad OL this is going to happen. And it's not just qbs. look at what Awe did to Finch & Messam on Saturday. Hits to the head leading with the helmet by Awe & no flags. Every player deserves protection. Not just qbs.
