Amaretto and Coke the beverage of choice this week....as snowflakes visit 'Peg City on double-header day. Defence looking to atone for last week...with early pressure. Nicholls tests his arm to Adams over the middle.....who takes a vicious hit for his troubles....and looks like he may not be back for a while. Jennings deep ball off a bit....which leads to punt to Fogg......who finds a corner and sprints down the sideline...praying for no flags the entire way. The prayer is answered....first career punt return TD, on his 4th do-over........Joy short-lived as Adams is headed to the locker room. Defence continues to put the heat on Jennings.....who is throwing it away when he isn't getting drilled. Andrew Harris reels off a couple of plays in pursuit of 1,000 x 2.....and allows Medlock to expand the lead to 10 Which holds up for most of the second quarter as the punters get a workout..... Nicholls hard count still fooling teams, as the Leos jump offside twice....... While the secondary gets some licks in on Jennings as the corner blitz gets called a few times......... Feoli-Gudino gets into the act and Medlock adds three more and another single....before BC gets a late drive to squeeze out 3 points just as the half is done.. Third quarter sees more of the same.....if you like stalled offences and hard safety hits.....except Loffler takes out his own teammate and not the opposition... Bombers biggest danger come playoff time may not be the opposition...but their own injuries, as Walker becomes the latest casualty... Ty Long pulls BC to within 8 after a long distance FG......and the city holds its breath, as Andrew Harris loses his helmet, then lowers his head into a hit.... Yet he comes back, undeterred.......while the body count grows with a BC injury....there will be some ice bags passed out tomorrow, hard hitting everywhere... And tempers beginning to flare in the scrums as Bond coaxes an objectionable conduct penalty out of the BC defence on 3rd down...... But Harris turns it over after the BC gift penalty, only to get another do-over when the Lions forget to count to three (plays off after an injury, that is)....... And then the Bombers start throwing punches.....as the game slows to a crawl..... Bombers' special teams' unit quietly gets the job done time after time on punt coverage.......while the d-line makes some noise with another sack.... Forcing a conceded safety....16-6 as we hit the 4th..... Where Jennings tries another long strike downfield.....but his accuracy remains elusive as Fogg picks it off and returns it deep....into Medlock FG territory...... 19-6.....and BC showing no sign that they will mount any offensive threat....especially with Mo Leggett making sure tackles on Chris Rainey...... Jennings finally connects on a TD pass.....except it is to a blue jersey, as TJ Heath jumps the route and scampers 64 yards for the playoff clinching TD..... Crowd rushing off to the Jets' game now......don't miss much......except for two late cosmetic scores by BC to make it artificially close, no big deal....... .....and injuries to Okapalago and Leggett, much bigger deal........ Bombers secure a playoff spot, raise a glass and toast them........now drown your sorrows because of those injuries....going to need more amaretto........

My gob. The Bombers play excellent defensive ball for most of the game, score more points than the other team, win their 11th game of the year, clinch a playoff game, improve their home win record to the 2nd best in the league, and folks come on here and piss on the players and Coaches and complain? I guess they’d rather be in a Montreal, Hamilton or BC, so they could really have reasons to complain...

It was ******* selfish and cost us a chance at three points in a close game .. frustrated or not, you HAVE to be aware of the bigger picture.

Denial is one thing, hope is another. The late season injury bug has tackled the Bombers late in the season. It doesn’t take a medical expert to realize the injuries to Adams and especially to Leggett, are serious. Call it what you will, but those boys will only be watching the rest of the games from the sidelines... The next man up, for the Bombers has never had more significance. Leggett, who was having a real impact on our defence, will sorely be missed. He was our defensive juggernaut.

I'd like to see what Chris Givens can do.

The BC game plan was obviously to take Harris out of the Bomber game plan and they mostly did that. We were fortunate to win after losing Adams, Leggett and Walker. I wasn't sure that Nichols would finish the game after that hit to his back.

Leggett is the kind of guy who will commit 100% to rehab and come back next year in the best shape of his life.

The CFL has been allowing piling on for years. Personally, I'd like to see it get penalized every time. When the player is down, there's no need to staple him to the ground and it should be piling on IMO.

Not only that, some of the their guys seem like really bad teammates. For example, it seemed every time Rainey got tackled he'd get up, put his arms out, and body complain like a teammate didn't throw an appropriate block or something. Brutal. If I'm a coach and I see that he comes off the field. And Awe's helmet to helmet tackle on Harris was dangerous and reckless. I'm a little surprised by Duane Forde for not acknowledging that. He only pointed out how lucky Harris was in not getting hurt when his helmet blew off. Manny Arceneaux looks know where near the player he was.

Both kicks were terrible.

They talk a lot for a team in a total free fall.

Helle looks great. He spent the summer with a goalie coach working on things. Maybe the jets should hire that guy.

Well I would argue on offense the silver lining is that it seemed L'damian Washington had a good game. Big shoes to fill but hopefully he gets more playing time.

Pressure all day on jennings, johnson had a big average but they contained the running game to a long run of 15. HH Heath with the pick 6 that was a nail in the coffin. Honorable mention to our kick cover guys for containing rainey.

That's a pretty talented 4th line, two first rounders and a second rounder (Armia/Petan/Dano). More talented than our plugger third line with stone hands Matty.

To your point, Walby is a huge fan of the guy...

It's a safety issue, obviously Harris likes to wear his helmet loose. A few years back you never saw players losing their helmets, now it happens every game. Personally I think the player that loses his helmet should be penalized for not tightening it properly.

The refs should immediately blow the whistle every time any players helmet comes off for safety reasons. Mark the ball where ever it is when the helmet comes off. I mean every time, not just the ball carrier. Some guys like Harris are constantly losing their helmets. They'd tighten them down if the play was being stopped.

I like what the Lions did with Johnson at RB and the direct snaps. I like it so much, we should incorporate it with Harris. This would be right up his alley, especially if they create an alley for him to run in. Then, as was mentioned last night, run that play a couple of times and reverse it with LanKford’s speed. This would work and Harris would get his yards...and the Bombers would move the ball.

BC needs a better O-line badly.

The injuries suck, but next man up. This team can still win. Not like we are the only team to be hit with injuries throughout the season.

Sadly I think both Adams and Leggett are gone for the year and they may no longer have the horses to beat a team like Calgary. Hopefully Flanders, Dressler and Wild are back within the next game or two so that they have time to get in game shape and work out the needed adjustments to the receivers and the secondary.

Umm.. What? Seriously we are 11 and 4. We have 3 games left. Edmonton is 9 and 6. 3 games left. We can finish 14 and 4 if we win out.. Edmonton can at best finish 12 and 6.. We have 11 wins... If we win any of our remaining 3 games we get a home playoff game.

Honestly i explained it about as clear as it gets. We are 11 and 4. Edmonton if they win out can finish 12 and 6... So... We win 1 more or Edmonton loses 1 more... We host the western semi. Forget about Calgary... They will finish first and get a bye and face the winner of Winnipeg and Edmonton. And really.. We won both games vs Edmonton so they need to finish with more wins than us.

On the OB pregame show, it was reported that the Bombers have had the fewest player-games lost to injuries, so I guess we were due. Leggett went down after falling to the ground catching a short kickoff, so I think its likely he will be ok. Our receiving core was barely good enough before Adams went down, so it looks like we are in trouble there.

Such a stark difference in an O`shea led team vs a Jones led team. Mike has his guys humble. Get a first down. Get up and go for it again. Get a TD, quick celebration and off to the sideline to pump up the Defence. A team that plays like a team and will jump through hoops for each other and the coaches. Jones has a complete circus going on. Premadonmas running around taking dumb penalties and crying for penalties. Stupid first down street fighter crap (what is with that) 5 min td celebrations and a complete me first attitude on the team. The Riders have a ton of talent no doubt. But the coaching and attitude on that team is a mess. It's going to really burn them after losing next week and going into a tailspin.

Starting 2 Canadians at receiver and we expect the only back up canadian receiver to not be on the roster?
