  1. The way we've used our defensive personnel all year has driven me nuts. Way too many participation medals being handed out. The fact that we DI a second-string and third-string WIL while we leave Nevis out of the lineup blows my mind. Bench one of Knox or Wild and get that constant rotation on the interior going - it's what allowed JT to have so much success earlier in the year. At one point in the fourth quarter, I saw us line up with Thomas, Jones, Briggs, Hurl, Loffler and Ekakitie on D. Why? Why on earth do we have 6 Canadians out there at once? On a key down? Come on. We're suddenly thin and I don't see how we're going to overcome it. That being said, we've got a lot of talent.

  2. All the defense blaming yet if not for an int returned to the one the game doesn't have a chance to be lost on a missed kick. The D was bad but don't forgive the O either. They had flurries of good play then long stretches of doing jack ****.

  3. Dressler - glad he's back. He could have been hurt or paralyzed by that dirty pile driver. Argo should have been booted from the game. Givens - made some nice grabs, good speed, not bad returning the ball. Miles (was it Miles) with the goal line stand to prevent 2 and keep us up 5.

  4. The D was garbage. The O did what they had to, to deliver a win. An easy, under 40 yard field goal. Our high priced kicker blew it, period. Trying to shine up that turd is pointless. The offence should have, once again, bailed out our crap D. I think I may just check out on the last 2 games and see what the semi has for us. But I suspect its more of the same

  5. I honestly would start Thomas Miles over Sam Hurl next week. Hurl is garbage.

  7. Agreed. And the OL is just another example of how fortunate the Bombers have been with injuries - that's the first OL change this year.

  9. If we play SK we lose. They have Jones and Muamba, we have Oshay and Hurl. If it continues like this we won't win another game this season.

  10. I think Medlock can bounce back next year but our Defensive Coordinator can't.

  11. Thats a lot of love for offense. Idk they drove the ball late. But going into that last possesion they had some 240 yards total and some brutal 2 and outs. The 4th Q 2 and out that put the D right back on the field after a 5+ minute drive by TO was really what killed our chances of winning. Ricky ray alone put up 130+ yards more then our offense did. A pretty miserable total team loss.

  12. And when your job is literally one specific thing that’s a career killer. He’s not here for his punting, that’s for damn sure. He needs to score lots of points to make that paycheque worthwhile.

  13. Love what Medlock did for the Bombers last year and have mad respect for his career but we are venturing deep into "what have you done for me lately" territory.
    2 points
  14. Nope pinning this all on Medlock is wrong. You win as a team and lose as a team. You don't hear that when Medlock kicks the winner that he won the game on his kick alone, same for the few that he has missed. I'd rather if he is going to miss the odd one it's now and not in the western final. (Which we WILL be in)

  15. Absolutely should have been a penalty for challenging the unchallengeable. Brutal decision.

  16. Yup...except he said that no ones really sees those things except for them. What a stupid thing to say...does he think everyone is so blind they can't see dropped passes and a defence which stinks?

  17. Where is Mulamba going to play if he wants to continue? France, Germany, Austria or Italy? I hear the Aussies have a crackerjack pro league as well. Now, that's leverage for ya. His NFL shot is over. So, either he plays for us, we trade him or he can rot. Or officially retire & get a job outside of football. But all he proved is he could hang in the NFL on a bunch of practice rosters for years. He never proved he could be a regular special teamer or every down player on any NFL roster he was on. His agent should watch his mouth with the things he's saying about the CFL.

  18. Considering that were going with 3 Canadians on the OL after Bond got hurt - it's too bad Nevis wasn't dressed.

  19. Nope. At a similar salary I'd take Nichols over Glenn in a heartbeat.

  20. Interesting quote from Nichols in the post game remote.... Said they did a lot of little things wrong, with one example being that they lined up wrong for the final play before the kick (a 1 yd Harris run) and if they'd done that simple thing properly, they'd have had a bigger gain and made the kick that much easier. It sounded like a lot of the team just had their heads up their asses and weren't sharp.

  21. A big fat no to Richie Hall (been there done that). Sammy Hurl? For the right price I'd love to have him back. Of course he'd not be a starter but in some situations and on teams he'd be a solid contributor.

I thought that he punted it straight out of bounds but it must have bounced. More stellar camera work from the boys at TSN I guess.

  25. Wasn’t suggesting dressier was washed up glad he was playing simply there were others on the field and it was all dressier no wonder the “secondary” players don’t or cannot step up

  26. I refuse to say they lost on a missed field goal....they lost cause the D couldn't have stopped a high school team from moving the ball. I hope they're all embarrassed at that performance. One of the worst ive ever seen. An 11-5 team needs to be better.

  27. Yesterday was just one big cluster f28k for the Bombers. First we lose a game on a missed fg by our kicker who should be able to make that kick in his sleep and then an epic collapse by the Lions allows the esks to come back. If I didn't know better I would think that curse is back and I might know why. I had a Bomber gnome on our deck outside and he sat prominently on a table. We had a wicked wind storm last week and the gnome was blown off the table and broke in to a few pieces. So my wife said she could try and fix it but I said that it was too far gone and we should get rid of it. So I scooped up the many pieces and threw it in the garbage. I wonder if the proper protocol would have being a more dignified burial in the back garden? I feel I might have caused some bad JuJu with the football gods. Sorry.

Last time it had some intriguing names, but not a lot of substance, and a bunch of injuries. This is looking like an murders row of a card. Like one of the best TV events in years. Im excited af for this card. Darren till said he was gonna ktfo cerrone. And he did it. I hope this is the end of cerrones run at WW. He looked defeated early, and nothing like the cowboy that is soo beloved by mma fans. Back to LW please.

  31. Heh guys, last year we made the playoffs. This year we get a home playoff game. That is progress, despite the disappointing loss today.

  32. I was so disappointed and frustrated watching how Hall schemed (or didn't) to stop the run. Watching Hurl repeatedly run straight into the Argo o-line (assignment sound I suppose ?), only to leave a massive hole for Wilder Jr to run through was maddening. Whenever I saw him whiff on tackles... good gravy I almost had a stroke from trying not to swear in front of my poor parents. We've definitely got some ballers on this D... but they're handcuffed by dead weight and a dud scheme.

  33. Have we? Lots of this is just made up. I mean nice try but u talking to ppl who have watched these games and lots/most/all the stuff u talk about is truly just not accurate. I think people tend to overreach especially after losses. Reality this game. We gave up 560 yards Net O. Just under. We had the ball on O for 22 minutes or just over. We lost because our kicker missed a 39 yard field goal. All in all stats say blowout.. Final score and scenario in how it ended was close. We played like **** and lost by 1 cuz our kicker missed a 39 yard FG. Against a pretty good team with pretty good players in Posey Wilder and Ray.

  34. This game was a microcosm of the 2017- riddled with a few obvious (to most of us) flaws and almost good enough but not quite. The problems that were there last year are still mostly there- the worst MLB in the league, a porous defence, and a head coach who is apparently loyal to "his" players and staff to the point of stubbornness. Our O-line is suddenly suspect, the offence is absent in critical situations, and the revamped D-line is just not good enough. Yes, BC, Edmonton and Calgary have problems, but our participation in the playoffs is going to be short and ugly. As much as we have mocked the Riders, they have progressed through the last half few games, whereas we have regressed.

  35. No need for that. Dan Lefevour is bigger and faster than Hurl. Put him in there. My guess is he would anticipate the play better than Hurl, get to the right spot on time, and make the tackle. Plus he'd love to blitz and clobber opposing QBs.

  36. We have too many players who’ve done nothing all year. We’ve finally benched Lankford, but we still have underperforming guys like Hurl, Denmark, and Washington doing nothing in the lineup. Then we have Medlock continuously missing routine kicks. This is a great team, despite the fact that we’re missing some great players. Our one flaw is that we have too many players who provide literally nothing to us.

  37. Win as a team, lose as a team. I think people comparing Medlock this year to last year are forgetting that last year he kicked the most field goals in a single season. Ever. To be honest, in this game, the Bombers were completely outplayed and were lucky to even have a chance at winning on a last-second field goal. They played badly as a team, and they lost, as a team.

  38. Even before today Bombers FG kick percentage was worst in the league. Even before today Bombers D surrendered most yards of all teams on 1st down and gave up most yards on average per play - worst in the league. This is football bread and butter and signals continued major weakness. This weakness is just being exacerbated down the stretch.

  39. I actually think we'd be better off fielding 11 players on D. At least then, with Hurl on the sidelines, none of his teammates will mistakenly think he's going to make a play.

  40. Surprised no one has mentioned the trenches and how thoroughly we were dominated on both sides of the ball. They got smacked in the mouth by the Argos all game. Wilder ran all over us through huge gaps over and over again and we couldnt run the ball to save our freakin' lives. Both lines should be hanging their heads.

  41. Let’s be completely honest here. Our offense has regressed to where it was early in the season where for long stretches of the game even driving by putting together 3-4 first downs together doesn’t happen. Injuries need to be overcome. Lapo and Nichols both have to give new receivers trust to make some plays (as they did on the final drive to set up the kick. That the Argos didn’t put 40 on us at least is huge given the hibernating O. The D came to play. FFS though Loffler and Walker need to wrap tackles.

  42. I was impressed with Givens, especially against a very aggressive Toronto defense and his play on special teams. Washington decided to show a bit of grit right at the end to make a couple of clutch catches. Dressler's my man, what a player, just keeps the defense honest and opens up for other receivers. Loved how he went over to the Toronto coach to voice his displeasure after taking that brutal 'throw head into turf' hit, then bounced up the next play after taking a clean but violent hit near the sideline. Without him in the lineup today, Toronto wins that game easily.
