  2. **** Chris Jones.....he's a piece of **** and a pox on the league....no question. In another, related, subject: **** everything about the Saskatchewan Roughriders organization, especially their "fan" base.....

  3. We all know this literally means nothing... Mike O'Shea would never publicly throw someone under the bus... especially right before the playoffs...

  5. He might be a decent coach but he is a deplorable human being and suspect general manager. It's going to blow up in his face because he treats people badly and that doesn't have long term staying power.

  6. Why is this a topic? I hate that team, fans, province, so much. I wanna break something.

I think this commissioner can get it done. I suspect that a Grey Cup in Halifax would be instantly legendary

  13. Its the CFL if you make the playoffs every year its just a matter of time you get hot in the playoffs and win the Grey Cup. They key is to make it every year.

  14. I'll be sad to see Wally go. He's like Don Matthews, a CFL legend, and he kept half the league supplied with quarterbacks during the late nineties / early oughts. 20 playoff years in 22 years plus more Grey Cups on his resume than the entire Saskatchewan franchise. To top it off, open-heart surgery in the middle of it all. As a fan of the Bombers I was intensely jealous of his success, as a fan of the league I thought he made it better. If he does step aside, then congrats to him on an amazing career and a well-deserved retirement.

  15. "Must win" might be the most overused term on this board. At this point we have one "must win" game: and that's not for another 3 weeks.

  16. Lots of the guys that come in a seem like new guys for the Stamps have been around for a year or two on PR

  17. If they need to replace someone on the 44 man it doesn't have to be Bond or Hardrick. The Bombers could tell the league they are doing an emergency roster adjustment so they can suit up someone from the practice roster. This is a home game so they have access to these players if needed. They did this earlier the year for the Banjo Bowl when Loffler was a last minute scratch.

A stadium like they have in Hamilton would be what you would need. 25,000 to 23,000. Expandable for a Grey Cup. Man a Martimes Grey Cup would be a party.

  26. Jones is a clown. period. He managed to get the Riders to play some good football and found some decent players but hes still a clown running one hell of a circus. His decision making, his "screw everyone" concepts and some of the players he has brought in besides the good ones were absolutely ridiculous.. I'm not going to stop taking about how craptacular he is until he proves himself worthy of not being called as such. Any coach/GM that disregards league rules like he does, brings in players on a hell mary hoping to catch lightning in a bottle and refuses to ever admit hes wrong... aint a good coach in my books. If Glenn had fell flat on his face this season or was hurt, I don't know if we would be even discussing this.

  29. I think tomorrow's game is a must-win for the Bombers, as they need to bounce back from last week's loss and close out the home schedule on a high note, as well as secure that home playoff game (I'd rather not see them get that game by having to rely on an opponent losing). It's also a should-win simply based on the opponent: the Lions are licking their wounds and are now only playing for pride and evaluation for next season. While the Bombers can't take them lightly, they should be able to take full advantage of a team in 2018 Mode and take care of their own business on home turf. Also, I think it goes without saying that a playoff game is a must-win for the Bombers. That's the next step in moving forward for the current regime.

    The Next Two Games

If not for the crossover rule, they'd be out of contention and one position above the basement, though. No doubt it's an improvement but the Riders still have a losing record within the division, so this idea they're playing with house money seems a bit silly. Even more so when you consider their situation beyond the 2017 season. One has to wonder if what's being done there is sustainable. As for the Bombers, in year 2 under the current regime Walters and O'Shea were both sophomore GM and HC, respectively. While Jones is a sophomore GM, this is technically his fourth season as a HC. Bit of a different situation when you look at the two closely.

  31. I don't see the Stamps resorting to airlifts, they recruit in the off-season and if you look at the evidence of roster stability the Bombers are attempting to duplicate that process.

  32. 1. Well newsflash, what Bomber fan is going to bow down before the melonhead clowns? I don't care if it's wearing blue and gold glasses or not, there's no place for it in WinningPeg (Yes I said it) 2. Who gives a flying ****? Deion Sanders did that all the time in the NFL, didn't make him any less of an arrogant SOB when he was playing, and Carter is still a POS. I don't care what anyone says about his talents PERIOD!!

    CFL Expansion

The time is right. The league found the way to make an expansion team relevant with the last expansion effort and the feds can't spend our grandchildren's money fast enough. When you think about it, this would be a great way to celebrate Canada's 150th with an announcement at Grey Cup. The league needs a 10th team. The maritimes need something like this. I guarantee the people of those provinces would revel in their team kicking Toronto's/Ottawa's/Calgary's butt in something that matters to some of those markets.

  34. Cryders keep on trotting out this "rebuild" language, like it is an acceptable and necessary move on their part. Who's to say that they wouldn't have reached the unremarkable level they currently sit at, by making less drastic change than they have over the past few years. Just because you choose to gut a team of its existing players doesn't mean that management shouldn't be held accountable for wins and losses. Once they have to pay market value for next year's QB, you will see many of the other more costly pieces on their roster not being resigned. Looking forward to seeing who won't be back from the current roster if they have to fork out for Franklin, Collaros, Lulay, etc

  37. Oh please, the Bombers management isn't so reactionary. They're not going to start firing people based on how they do in the playoffs. They are all about stability and the process. Fans want firings all the time, but that's fans being fans.

  39. How can they be expected to know this might happen in late October? Even with 4 days notice of rain/snow and zero degree conditions with strong winds. It really took everyone by surprise. Sarcasm. Yeah it was a complete dereliction of duty by the city that they advised everyone to NOT USE BRIDGES rather then be sanding them ahead of time.

    The Tech Thread

well....a game emulator site has added nintendo 64 games now I don't know if this is really considered tech (but I know it's not considered iPhone) but for some reason both the nostalgia gaming center of my brain and the nostalgia tv viewing center of my brain (or my inner 90s kids as I prefer to call it) won't shut up, we can binge watch on monday and start playing the emulators after Remembrance day I also found a place where you can play not just video games but also computer games of the past (they honoured a couple of my requests and it made me happy especially when I get that nostalgic feeling of whenever at Christmas I hear the Spice Girls version of Christmas Wrapping on the radio and I have that happy memory of my first computer and playing Math Blaster in Search of Spot)

  42. Take what's said on a trivial radio show with a grain of salt. O'Shea has nothing to gain by throwing his DC under the bus with the playoffs ahead. Oh, look. The clueless talking dildo is back.

  43. Meh, they're still below .500 vs. the West Division and still fourth in the division. It's been a roller-coaster season in Regina, so I'm not willing to give the man credit just yet. Let's see how he manages his roster next season.

  49. They've played better than I thought they would. Mostly on the arm of KG who played better than I thought he would...though I will give Jones credit for pulling him when he needs to be pulled (something other coaches didn't always do). On the play of Carter in D. Am I the only one who actually watched him? Balls being over thrown/under thrown don't make me impressed with his play. His pick 6 was 100% an under throw. The REC was behind him, it was just a poorly thrown pass. He didn't make a great play on the ball, he did have a nice run for the TD though I'll give him that. He was also beat on a Deep pass in the 1st half that was just over thrown. So while he made a good play once the ball was in his hands, his coverage skills aren't all that impressive. I'm getting tired of hearing about how good he was as a DB. He flat out got lucky. End of story. I pray to god that he needs to line up against Darvin in the playoffs.

  50. You may have seen this on the Twitter machine. Sarah Evan, who is the team's RMT is donating her time to do 30 minute massages for a minimum $50 donation to Hefney's cause. Went to see her today and it was well worth it.
