Casher is a guy I have been looking forward to since we added him late last season...if he's got his life all in order he could be a real find Thing is..we don't have to release anyone to make room now anyway....salaries don't count till the season starts...let everyone battle in camp...then determine where or if a new young up and comer has pushed a vet out the door

  2. So, Wilder gets criticized for wanting to better himself with an NFL tryout. Meanwhile, just TODAY the OC in Edmonton resigned to coach in the NFL. Coaches can leave but players can't. I think anyone who criticizes these players (like Jacquie) are totally blowing smoke. If coaches can walk out on their contractual responsibilities in March then players should be able to as well.

I don't understand this thinking at all. Does your employer pay you less because you got paid money by someone else three months ago? So, if I can find a landscaper who got paid $20K for a small job two weeks ago, then I know he will do my whole yard for $200 now. Hey if he got overpaid enough, he might even landscape my whole yard and pay me $200!

  6. Wilder is talented no question there, I just think Bluto is really expecting more than the guy will be capable of. It's one thing to come in midseason and tear **** up, but like I said in my last post, do it from the start of the season over the entire course and it won't last. guy will get too beat up doing it. No one can sustain that pace over a whole year.

  7. It wouldn't survive now, never mind the 90's. The idea that anyone is keeping the NHL out of Saskatchewan is laughable.

Of course there's no contract. That's why we have no business pointing to the money he's already received this year:

  9. Wilder's stats for November: Nov 4 indoors at BC - 18 carries for 136 yards, 7 catches for 91 yards Nov 22 for Eastern Final - 14 carries for 52 yards, 8 catches for 52 yards Nov 26 for Grey Cup - 9 carries for 13 yards, 2 catches for 18 yards

  10. There is no contract once he's released. He can try and propose the former contract's terms but the simple argument to counter that is "If the Riders didn't think you were worth keeping with that contract, why would we?" The best I would do is offer him a fair contract and then offer to throw in paid storage for his tour bus until February of next year.

  12. Exactly....we don't have to make any roster moves till crunch time...We need to let everything play out until cut down day....Never get rid of assets that are not easily recoverable....First line of business

How the Bombers can create cap space for Henoc Muamba http://3downnation.com/2018/03/06/how-the-bombers-can-create-cap-space-for-henoc-muamba/ The only way I can see them cutting Ogo is if one of the new DE's they bring to camp turns out to be a stud like Jeffcoat.

  17. So you think players should be slaves?** **See what I did there - I took a thought you never expressed anywhere and passive-aggressively implied that you have simply because it is possible for one situation to exist within the other - just like you did with SF27. Good times, good times.

  18. His 2018 Grey Cup winner bonus? Bluto, you're expecting Wilder to be traded to the Bombers?

  19. I reserve judgement on Wilder until he plays a full season and can show he can play in bad weather.

  22. I don't give Mason as much credit as everyone else for Helle's emergence - Mason hasn't exactly lit the world on fire I'd dump that contract in a heartbeat if it meant re-signing Statsny...

  23. Wilder - American Harris - Canadian therein, says Captain Obvious, is the biggest difference between the 2. VERY few American running backs are in this league for more than 3 -5 years. There are very few Mike Pringles and Charles Roberts. If Wilder dominates in this league for even 5 years...I will be duly impressed! (If he makes an NFL roster I will be impressed x 2). But yeah, he is a good player. After Harris, I take Wilder as my starting RB
    1 point
  24. What money did the league pay to do that? IIRC, then NHL President John Ziegler said the BoG voted and the league took control of the St. Louis Blues franchise from Ralston Purina Co. in the hopes of finding an owner who wouldn't just relocate the franchise. Back then as it is now, relocating a franchise is a last resort once all other avenues have been exhausted. And FWIW, had Saskatoon been awarded a relocation team, it wouldn't have survived the 90s and would've suffered the same fate as the Nordiques and the Jets 1.0 did. And it would be one more round in the "NHL hates Canada" barrel.

GTFO of here with your logic and common sense- there is no place for that on these boards!

  27. Coming from a non-goalie expert that I am, does his recent play with us (albeit a small sample) and his play in the AHL this year, warrant that?

  28. yeah that would be him. name escaped me but in googling his name i recognized his "claw mark tatty"

Yeah if that 178K figure is accurate that is a hefty sum for an import player with only ok stats last year. Roh definitely makes him expendable and his price almost covers Muamba entirely

  34. Ummm, from Wikipedia (the knower of all knowledge): In the Victorian Era, a variety of conditions which affected women were referred to as "a case for the vapours". Lady's tight corsets could squeeze their internal organs, including the lungs, and could restrict breathing causing the wearer to feel faint and to require "the vapours". A description of someone having "a case of the vapours" was sometimes used for a person in a state of emotional agitation. Seriously read Tennessee Williams, broaden your horizons!

  35. You know that "getting the vapours" is a euphemism for flatulence, right? Somehow, I cannot see Bluto getting that worked up unless he is into bean burritos.

  36. I think they need to give Helle some rest and dont kill him b4 the playoffs start so im more than ok with Mason starting. It's pretty obvious Jets have zero confidence in Hutch... So im glad Mason is back since it likely means more games off for Helle.

  37. I've always felt the Bombers play better (recently) when they're counted out... maybe these meaningless off-season power rankings will help provide some motivation...

Sadly, because he didn't become a starter in his first year, he's a total bust of a 1st round draft pick. Might as well cut him loose now and get it over with.
