  1. I had brunch with him and a few others years ago. He didn't eat anymore than me. I am not sure that is a good look for me. He seemed like a good enough kid but really got on my case for cheering for Toronto Raptors instead of the front runner of the day. I didn't want to mention it but at the time a front runner wouldn't be cheering for his team.
  2. I guess I was ahead of my time. I never cheered for the green team. Although I hated the Edmonton green team even more. How could they have a high school kid kicking punts? Not fair at all. (timeline is a bit off here but there has been a lot of beer and stuff between that time and now)
  3. Is that a new counting stat? Under 10 yards passes? 6/10 in Fajardos in today's game?
  4. This reminds me of one bomber home game a coworker of my wife asked to park in our driveway to walk to a banjo bowl. I was happy to help someone enjoy a beatdown of the riders. Then they showed up in green jerseys. OMG what are the neighbours going to think. I noticed they didn't stop by to chat after the game. Ha I love banjo bowls (mainly).
  5. You mean a barrel from the honey wagon. (I grew up half an hour from Saskachewan border so I heard about those things.)
  6. I think it was the part about Saskatchewan losing on the last play (was it? memory foggy). I was in high school at the time and even non football fans talked about it the next day. But yes it was just an over the shoulder catch. You have to remember back in the day we couldn't afford one those flashy directed tip ball plays we had run of the mill plays and we liked it.
  7. Those guys were all great players. I have a 58 James West jersey but only because 35 Ty Jones was sold out. But 1985 athletes can not compete with 2021 athletes. Not only training but nutrition and techniques are all way more advanced now. The players are bigger, stronger, more resilient and have more technique and knowledge. I am getting older but I know that the good old days are never better.
  8. Ah em, Eli was not there if my memory is correct.
  9. Like last GC, that won't last long. Too many hits, too cold, too small.
  10. I may have blue tinted goggles but that contact was clearly before the ball. But in comparison to the bounce pass catch by the ignoble Duke, this is an understandable miss.
  11. Take a look at a geographical map. Farmland is tiny in Manitoba compared to the flatland. Way more combines in Saskyland. Manitoba is mainly rocks, trees and water.
  12. 85% can turn into 0% really fast. Save him for next season's Western Final. He's playing forever right?
  13. I vote for the 1990 Grey cup Battle. A one sided Battle on many counts. High defensive pressure in a pressurized stadium. That trip was worth every penny dug out of the couch. The only way it would have been better was if it was the other green guys.
  14. At first I thought "Ah Fried chicken. It powers my heating system" then "wait clothes?" In my younger days it was antifreeze all the way. Yes there are battery powered clothes for the construction industry branded for the popular tool companies and I beleive there are models that include bottom coverage. You should be good to go.
  15. Doug Flutie no matter which team he was with. Swervin Mervin was a good pick. Larry Highbough (spelling approximate) was amazing but so was Gizmo.
  16. oh by the way that star blanket version of the W logo is pretty.
  17. This is not a mensa board thank god. Of course I meant football smart. I didn't know the politics stuff and will leave that to the side.
  18. Oh that season was painful. In on a motorcycle, out on a donkey. I found an abandoned coffee cup at work 7 years ago that had the season schedule on it. Don't blame the person for leaving it in the break room. I couldn't remember any of the games that year but I remembered the Grey cup game in Vancouver. I used the coffee cup to remind myself everyday that success is not guaranteed.
  19. Come on is right. Flutie was a magician. So agile. So smart. Bo can throw to open receivers. But not under pressure. Flutie would disappear under pressure and reappear for a first down. Maybe a bit of an exaggeration but true in spirit.
  20. 100% to 110% for Bombers versus 25% to 27.5% for the trolls in the basement.
  21. Rules of decorum do not apply when dealing with flat billies.
  22. And a side gig towing trucks if everything else goes south.
  23. Oh that one I remember very well. I had 2 season tickets that year and no one wanted to go. Bunch of candies made of sugar. I sat in my trenchcoat under the upper deck canopy and watched the kids on the rotating swings melt in their seats as the EX was on in the parking lot. I thought that was earlier in the year and just an exhibition game. players were standing on top of the bench except some guys who were doing slip and slides.
  24. Absolutely this is not comparing watermelons to watermelons here.
