  1. It would be a great situation if we can start Terrell Ford or a Canadian at safety. Actually seems fairly likely.
  2. Offense is going to be fine. We have a lot of talent and depth there. Zero question we will find someone to fill the 3rd American receiver spot. There is enough competition and depth on the o-line that we should be fine there as well. Special teams on paper it looks like we will be much better than last year. Fresh faces bring new energy. Defense is where there is the most uncertainty. We need someone to step up at Corner. Holm and Nichols are locks at half. I think we have a lot of options at safety and one of the corner positions. Finding a top cover guy would go a long way to making that group formidable. D line i see similarly. We have a few guys there but we need someone to step up. Maybe even a couple. Willie does some good things but I hope we run a DI at the end position this year. Linebackers I can't understand why we don't bring in more competition. Are we that confident in Biggie and Wilson?
  3. Really enjoyed hearing Walters talk about the depth they added in the draft, but also about some of the guys that were drafted in previous years that they expect are going to make an impact both at role positions and special teams Clercius, MCI, Ford (I know he did play for us but he's an improvement), Charboneau, Kelly (stepping up to AR), MacDougall. Not to mention the global guys who will be competing for the last "Canadian" spot. And we only really lost Briggs, Miller (who wasn't actually playing) and Exume? Our special teams have to be better this year, right?
  4. I think you mean Chase Claypool. And yeah that seems about as far fetched as any potential cfl signing I've heard.
  5. To be fair: 2019 - Rookie Season 2020 - Season Cancelled 2021 - Played shortened season, Suspended 2022 - Sat out season 2023 - First year back So he's essentially played less than 3 seasons, each of which he had come back from a break. Should be interesting to see if he can finally get his footing.
  6. Loften is our RT by default. If we can find someone better then great.
  7. The last 2 seasons it has been a minor miracle keeping the guys around that we did. This year we have still been able to keep the majority of our players, even more than I would expect from a team that went to the Grey Cup. It's time for our scouts to earn their keep like great teams often have to do.
  8. I remember reading anti-Bomber Friesen articles in the Sun in the break room at Sobeys 20 years ago. Consistent hack.
  9. Both Brady and Schoen back. Didn't think it was possible but dammit it feels so right.
  10. I'm just waiting to see what Richard Karikari signs for
  11. Hurts less when you have a guy in waiting. I have high expectations for Richmond
  12. Bede can change a game with his leg. Would be worth it as a DI. Castillo, while a great FG kicker, is not a punter and is a pretty average kickoff guy.
  13. I'm a huge fan of Tim White. Could be a good fit here if Schoen is the guy everyone else is targeting.
  14. I'd consider Betts at 200k. Not anywhere near 300k. I also think he's pretty one dimensional but sometimes one dimensional players pay dividends if that's what you need
  15. If we are matching pound for pound backup Canadian DT with other teams in the league, is Jake Thomas really the issue? I think there was some issue with the amount of reps he got last year. I can't imagine that he signed on this year to be the starter. But his passport and his ability to play at a veteran level is valuable. The way I look at it is Lawson is going to be the Canadian on the line and we will get good value from Thomas. We could be looking at bringing kongbo back to rotate which may leave Thomas as the third. Im all for moving on from Americans because the pool of talent to replace them is vast. Dumping Canadians who can still play...
  16. If it's a reasonable salary and he's backing up Lawson then I'm fine with it. He's still a decent Canadian player
  17. Bailey would be an option too. I just really can't see us wanting to be on the hook for half a million dollars between two receivers. Defense wins championships and our offense is set to be a bit more dynamic with Streveler the leveler coming back
  18. I agree on the injury front. But I think he's only gotten better as a receiver since he was here. And he will still stretch defenses... Which is something that we don't have a lot of in our receiving core
  19. I'd be going for Whitehead at just over Bane money instead of Schoen at Lawler money. We have Lawler. We have Demski. We have Woli. Whitehead is super versatile and could fit back in here very well. Then you have a training camp battle for the last spot.
  20. Really expecting Strevelers contract to max out around 300k. I'm actually surprised his base salary is so low.
