I don't follow the NHL much these days, but do other teams also wait an eternity to bring up young guys and to play them? I'd assume with the more talented ones they bring them in and they learn on the job / growing pains and then ideally contribute much earlier then waiting 3 - 4 years before giving them NHL ice time?

Does Evander still have a gambling problem? Is he going to be flat broke within a few years of his actual retirement?

UFC this weekend... loads of tickets available at high prices. I'm going to assume this will be the deathknell of the UFC ever coming back to WInnipeg. Many UFC experts are discussing about this being among the worst cards the UFC has ever assembled in the last many years. It's a shame that the UFC has this huge tv deal and loads of money... yet are putting on absolutely terrible cards.

I recommend travelling, I've met many many people in Winnipeg who have never visited anywhere and are completely oblivious at what the world is like elsewhere. I can't remember who was #2 or #3 on the least desired places to play, but I'd imagine Edmonton would be near those numbers. -30 winters, absolutely zero night life, Canadian dollar, higher taxes, the worst "outdoors scenery" as in it's boring and flat, worst amenities for richer people, country bumpkin atmosphere, below average places/entertainment for families.... why in the world would a 25 - 30 year old single guy with money and/or guy with a young family want to pick Winnipeg vs 30 other options that offer far more. But in your opinion one single poster on a forum who speaks nothing but the truth is the reason why a free agent would decline signing with the Jets. Not to mention for years it has been reported that lots of players have Winnipeg on the no trade list for destinations. Chevy has a huge disadvantage compared to most other GM's when it comes to bringing in players to the team. To put your head in the sand and say it's the poor attitude of someone like me is a huge case of loser denial. Unfortunately the truth hurts. Chevy takes what he can get... if Chevy as the GM of Florida, Vegas, Utah etc... he'd have a much easier time constructing a team.

Kind of hard to do well when Winnipeg is the least desired city that players want to play in by a large margin. This is why we have to always settle for older over the hill free agents and "hope" that they can reclaim some success from the past.

So what is this place going to talk about when Elgerwhateverhisnameawa joins the club and then gets immediately cut as TCF? I have never seen so much conversation about someone who has done absolutely nothing.
