Bc  lost fewer players than we did and did a better job, for now. replacing them.

    ie lost  Betts  >  Robertson

Rhymes> Stanback (giving them more balance)

             Whitehead .>   Mcinnis

             Edward -Cooper  > Ciante Evans

           Baron > Richardson

We were neck and neck with them in the standing most of the year, whether we repeat will depend on our recruiting

There's exactly one upgrade in that picture and he's coming off 2 Achilles injuries. Again, I don't see it. I want break down every one of these but don't have the time....so I'll stick with one.

Stanback isn't the back he once was. And comparing him to Ryhmes is laughable at best in terms of production. That's ignoring that BC regularly ignores the run game.

The players above were still starters, and when you introduce new players, especially those without cfl experience there os a learning curve. Luckily enough we have a strong coaching and scouting crew to help with that

Regarding Stanback obviously they feel he's an upgrade to what they had,but I agree his best years are done

Jeffcoat and grey will be replaced with players who have CFL experience in the Bomber systems. Houston likely as well. Maybe not Bailey...

wrong....soooo wrong....hahaha...or is that arcasm?...I'm thinking it may be after rrading it a second time....if so....carry on....I was just speed reading stuff as I am in and out of here fast for most part

Also in regards to measureables and combine numbers/reported numbers...take all with grain of salt...especialy 40 times....Straight line speed with no ball in your hands, or a target you are pursuinf doesn't really mean a lot....what you do with a ball....in and out of breaks...or that extra gear when fluidly running...thats where you look...same with d-line...first step...how and where they place and use hands in regard to that...and who has a real good tilt...thats where u find your speed demons off the edge

    Heavy sarcasm. Lol.

  3. I personally couldn't think of any CFL players, former/present who played defense that got into trouble for cannabis related "crimes" while also struggling academically, who then became a star or hell even a HOF player. That has never happened.....there are also exactly zero CFL players who currently consume large amounts of cannabis during the season.....that also never happens....I've never personally seen all star players in cannabis shops purchasing products that are meant to be inhaled....not me....no sir....the CFL would never put up with those dope users.

Crying about the likes and comments on his posts I guess?

Not his. Someone else's. He seems to have figured out that people can and do buy followers. Usually those people have very little follower interactions (likes/comments) as their followers are actually just bots. Not sure why it seems to bug him so much though.

I'm going to sound like I'm a John Hodge burner account on this forum (I'm not), but the CFL draft is by far the toughest to predict in terms of order, who gets picked. So many factors, but the biggest being the best players aren't ever picked high because of NFL interest. So, you're guessing on how GM's will choose the best "available" player, and then factoring in positions that actually matter in the CFL for ratio. This isn't the NFL, NBA, NHL where a casual fan can probably get 50% accuracy on the first round. I like CFL mock drafts (3downnation and cfl.ca) just to get to know potential players. I know RSEQ players pretty well because I watch every game for one school, but clueless as to anyone else. So if your criteria is you only like mock drafts for their accurate selection order predictions , no debate on CFL draft predictions.

    Prove it

I didn't even know the combine was last week and I'm a diehard CFL fan. If they can't reach me they don't have a snowballs chance of drumming up interest to the casual fan.

That wasn't the main one and there's a reason they don't advertise it out to everyone. No disrespect to the attendees but from the clips I saw there wasn't a lot of professional level talent.

Hodges mock draft. I can’t see us taking 2 FBs in the first 3 rounds. But I’d love to get a versatile fb who can block play teams and do some power running.

I'm going to be very disappointed if we use our 2nd pick on a FB.

Once the Bombers knew they could sign Streveler, The Bombers would never have even tried to re-sign Brown. They traded him two weeks before the FA deadline. To me, That means they knew they had both little chance of signing Brown & not really caring as they had other plans. Streveler was the biggest free agent pick up of the off season for the Bombers. Bigger than had they somehow re-signed Brown. Not counting Oliveira & Schoen.

Anyway, that's my take on it. I'm sounding a bit too negative on Brown. I'd like to see him succeed. I knew he was gone anyway after last season & I was hoping beyond hope he signed with any other team other than Ottawa. I don't think much of Bob Dyce or Sean Burke fan as he isn't a very good head coach & that organization Burke runs is one big tire fire.

This is true. Because Brown made it known to not only the club but also the public that he wasn't looking for only more money, but a chance to compete for the #1 spot.  It's well documented at this point. The Bombers moved on because they couldn't afford his salary expectations or his playing time ambitions.

The only area that Zac "regressed" if you wanna call it that is in ball security. He threw up too many 50/50 balls last year. Other than that, the guy was easily the best QB in the CFL. He wasn't out of this world last year, like the two years before, but when we say take a step back it should be put in context. He stepped back from being an almost unanimous MOP to simply being the top QB in the CFL. And to anyone who say 'ya but Chad Kelly", that was all media and the need for a bonafide star in Toronto. Collaros was better by just about every QB metric.

100% agree. He went from run away MOP to should have been MOP but someone was close enough that fatigue voting was relevant.

As a fan I can be pissed off about anything. You reacted negatively to my comments so that means you didn't like them.

It's just the same old typical **** from fans who have become spoiled & are never satisfied. One guy plays well in a few games as a rookie. Then he becomes the Next One that fans love. Just get rid of the old vet standing in his way because he's starting to suck. Meanwhile the old vet threw for something like 4300 yards on a team that went 14-4 in 2023 & 40-10 since the CFL resumed play in 2021. It's ridiculous.

I can understand that with his injury history but we'll see how he fares this season with the changes on the line. Hopefully, he does fine.

Brown wasn't a rookie. In fact, if memory serves me you were on the board talking about how he should never take another snap after his rookie year and absolutely horrible showing.

Sometimes we all have bad takes.

I was on the fence with Collaros vs Brown. I see an argument for keeping both. I'm more inclined to Collaros as he's been there done that. But I'd be lying if I said he didn't regress a bit. He got happy feet often. Forced throws, especially deep. And was late on more than a few occasions with his deep throws leading to contested catches/ints etc. saying all that... all of that with the exception of happy feet have been complaints of mine about his game since 2019.

He's not perfect....but...he's still my Quarterback!!

Not mentioned in this discussion is that the Natl. American rule did not fulfill it's intended purpose of extending the careers of fan favourite veteran American players who were no longer able to secure starting roles, but were still marketable personnel for their team within their communities.  A player like Darvin Adams comes to mind.

What happened within one week of the season starting is a few teams of low character figured out how to subvert the rule intent and twist it to their advantage.  Both Calgary and BC demonstrated this in week #1, having established starters such Kadeem Carey and Dominique Rhymes listed as backups to no-name players who they replaced after the first snap and played the rest of the game, thus subverting the ratio as the 23 play count applies only to the designated starter.

Same thing was done on defence as teams were permitted to have a designated nationalized American on offence and defence.  Game #1 the Stamps used their defensive designation on veteran defensive back Branden Dozier, who started behind rookie Michael Griffin, the Lions subbed vet. Woody Baron in for Global no-name Tibo Debaillie after one snap.

The blame falls on the league for failing to close an obvious loophole on a rule that may have had good intentions and se been worthwhile.  As the rule change failed to achieve what is was designed to do, it should be altered to more accurately serve it's purpose, or immediately be eliminated.

    It should be eliminated.

I agree, however, Bennett was a first year rookie. I think everyone here is being a little harsh on him. If we doesn`t progress this year, it`s a valid argument.,..but every team has to give their high draft picks some reps to develop.

Last year`s draft was generally considered pretty weak. I`m not sure we do anything good with the picks.

At his age he should be getting real close to his peek. Maaaybe he develops a bit more, but he'll never be heavy rotation worthy imo. Slow off the line, not enough strength and not enough flat out speed. I'd love for him to prove me wrong. But I think he eventually goes down as a bust.

Ryan Ballantyne. He isn't credible because he's a Stamps Boi. He doesn't care about other teams. Just the Stamps. He believes he's a credible member of the CFL media. I disagree because he's a Stamps fan. My feeling if you want to be considered a member of the legit "media" then you can't show your biases when you're reporting stories & have to be neutral. I've occasionally had the odd run in with him online. (Surprise, surprise ;) ).... He doesn't like it if someone questions his analysis.

I'll never forget how he argued that the 2021 Bombers were scared to play the stamps in the west final....yes....he was serious...and was saying the Bombers were counting their lucky stars the riders won the semi. Lol
