  1. Good for the Bombers for stepping up (not like they had a choice). But I simply don't buy the story. Been to a million games and the story as presented doesn't ring true at all. Cue the SJWs.
  2. I stand corrected. In my defense I tried hard to forget Jim Daley entirely!
  3. Since Dave Ritchie, the Bombers have had 6 head coaches. Not a one of them had even a single game of CFL head coaching experience. Of those 6, not a one of them has ever been hired as a CFL head coach again. What does that tell you?
  4. Can you imagine if someone held the (incorrect) winning ticket and claimed it? That would have been an expensive mistake, or a PR disaster - probably both.
  5. Rats. Again with the safe, passive hire. God forbid this organization hires someone that might challenge the status quo or actually try something interesting.
  6. Well having spent a good few years in Nunavut (NWT then) I can tell you the 'Eskimo' is absolutely an offensive word to every inuit I ever met. I love the Eskimo name and history, and I wish people wouldn't take these things so seriously, but it's a slippery slope and at some point there will be a change, I'm sure of it - so why not be proactive and forward-thinking?
  7. I still believe in LH but he needs to have a bit of a time out.
  8. Brohm has been in pro leagues for what 8 years? This is LH's 2nd year. He deserves a break because he's still wet behind the ears and there's still a good chance he gets it together.
  9. The CFL first of all needs to make a fundamental shift reduce the number of flags thrown. If an infraction has absolutely nothing to do with the play result, then either don't throw a flag, or pick it up after and announce that the infraction had no impact on the play. The number of mickey mouse calls is infuriating and are ruining the game. When the only flags thrown are actual penalties that had an impact on the game, then it becomes much easier to review them.
  10. Lawless is the stupidest sports writer in Winnipeg. I won't read his crap and if he is ever on TV I mute it. Do you ever have a balanced opinion? I get this visual of you yelling every word you speak. What an ironic post. Funny how those who think so highly of themselves as balanced/good always have to pull out the name calling and bullying. I don't have to be balanced about Lawless. I do not find any redeeming qualities in what he does. I don't read Paul Friesen either, because I think he is often just throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks, but I cannot argue that he does have valid points every so often. Lawless just spews out opinions or information that has not been vetted and in some cases has been flat out made up. I will stick with paying more attention to the real reporters like Penton and co. Again, I may not always agree with them, but they have a much better track record and try to stay away from spreading rumours. Umm...he didn't call you any names, nor did he bully you. He's just asking you a valid question and stating his opinion on how you come across. The only person I see name calling in this post is you calling Lawless stupid. And I answered it. The thing is I shouldn't have to answer BS questions like it. This forum is for opinions and my OPINION is I don't like Lawless he hasn't provided any enlightenment to the sporting community here. Much like Friesen. If you don't like my opinion that's fine but making me answer for my opinion while no one else has to is bullying. Oh, and in case you cannot read he didn't call me names but he did dig into the personal insult pot with his second unneeded sentence. good grief man. Grow up.
  11. I wonder if anyone has ever looked at the last rankings of prospects and their success in the CFL versus their actual draft selection position. It would be interesting to know if the rankings are in fact horse***t. Oversimplified I know, but it would still be interesting.
  12. Solid move. Love Watson as a player but he was hurt too much and we have other priorities now.
