I am aware they have his rights and any leverage.  His value is higher than a typical first round pick signing his first CFL contract.  Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady have also proven nothing in the CFL.  He proved himself against professional football players.  Better ones.  As opposed to having only proven himself against university players, which is the concern for rookies.  He got developed on someone else's dime.  Montreal doesn't have to pay him for two years while they bring him along like we did with Goossen and are doing with Couture.  He arrives pro-ready which is not the typical situation for a player picked in the Canadian draft.  His value is legitimately higher than a typical first round pick signing his first CFL contract.

If Mulamba finally came here we would end up paying him more than we are paying Couture.

I'm not disputing that his value is higher than the Als offer. All I'm saying is that he has little leverage or ability to do anything about it. All he can do is carve out the best deal he can or demand a trade and take the chance the Als don't stonewall him for 2 years.

There's been no announcement from the Bombers. There were tweets that he was in town about the job but nothing about his being hired.

And that tweet comes from his buddy Steve Morley - who knows if it's serious or not. But I like January to take a step to be an assistant OL coach.

The consensus out of Edmonton is the Esks have a balanced schedule, with five games over the summer months and four in the fall (Edmonton Sun)
One of the most thought of OL - Derek Dennis, appears likely to hit the open market as he and the Stamps reportedly remain far apart in talks (Gary Lawless, TSN).
– Abdul Kanneh, one of the league’s top shutdown halfbacks, is expected to garner plenty of interest if he isn’t signed before free agency (CFL.ca).
-DB Abdul Kanneh among 19 unsigned Redblacks as CFL free agency looms
Als quarterback coach Anthony Calvillo says he’s really looking forward to working with Darian Durant (Murray McCormick, Regina Leader Post).

This year over 220 players are scheduled to become free agents on Feb. 14.

MEANWHILE in Saskatchewan....
Rider fans are doing their damnedest to debunk Dunk. Everything from slipshod reporting to erroneous dates to, once again, trying to discredit a fine organization such as the Riders. 'Somebody is leading Dunk down the garden path with bad info.' And so far, no confirmed sightings of Johnny Football in Regina.
MEANWHILE in Toronto....
Rumour is, because the Argos have no GM, players in Free Agency will be given a special twitter account and a text message number to apply for a roster spot...? - Jest the Facts.

I responded to a post about Walters, why are you changing the subject?  I also never said Walters didn't do a good job either. I said don't get carried away. Shologan was a miss and had a poor year. Smith did nothing either, Dressler didn't light the world on fire in between injuries but had a ok year. Cummings was a flop.  Nichols was a good move, Harris was a good move. I think Walters has done a decent job overall. As far as the Riders go, I'm not here to defend some of the moves we have made, in fact I have made better choices drunk on who to take home from the bar, LOL

A thousand yard receiver who missed a good chunk of the season is just okay? Sure.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Dennis in Sask.... they should have the cap space to offer big money and desperately need help on the O-line...

I'd be curious to know what the sales pitch is in Toronto right now... how do you sign free agents without a GM or HC... there's no direction and player have no idea what kind of system they will play in...

Expecting #TiCats to heavily pursue DBs Abdul Kanneh and/or Jerrell Gavins. Cheaper option could be Ronnie Yell. Regardless, DB = huge need. Eric M.
CFL News - Venable, who earned $200,000 last season, almost certainly won’t return to #AlsMTL — at least not at that price. - @HerbZurkowsky1 #CFL
A.M. Cash, perhaps the league’s most under-rated defensive tackle, was a steal last season at $85,000. - @HerbZurkowsky1 #CFL #AlsMTL
Eric M. - Excluding their 4 safeties (none of which can play HB/CB) the #Eskimos have three DBs under contract: Thompson, Young, Thornton. That's it.

Calgary - 2 key free agents: LT Derek Dennis, WR Marquay McDaniel
