From Madani:

"Best story I've heard from Argos GM search: a candidate was asked if he'd consider Rex Ryan to be coach! REX! Just imagine the bike rides... https://t.co/HwPigJXX6y"

there's about a zero to negative zero percent chance that Rex Ryan will be coaching in the CFL any time soon...

Despite a personality that some people don't like, he is actually a good football coach... and will absolutely get opportunities to work in TV, if not a DC or another HC job soon enough...

Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere but Lawless is reporting Trestman might be interested in Toronto

http://www.tsn.ca/trestman-gauging-interest-for-argos-staff-1.678052

That would be good for Willy/Mathews I think.

That would be interesting, Popp/Trestman together again.

I'm surprised AM Cash hasn't been signed. I don't get it.

Quick  STUFF -

Lowell Ullrich
Four DL signings by #BCLions today would suggest they will fill roster without dipping further into #CFLFA veteran market.
CFL News - It looks like Danny O’Brien, who spent three years with the #Redblacks, will not be returning. - @TimCBaines #CFL #Redblacks
Gary Lawless - doesn't mean it happens but Marc Trestman is gauging interest among coaches about putting together a staff to lead @TorontoArgos #cfl @cfl

CFL News - #Argos have been making repeated runs at Marc Trestman this offseason. Can you blame them? Not many bigger #CFL names. City needs the buzz.
If the #Argos land Marc Trestman, pretty much all will be forgiven. He's the big fish. No question. Will create a huge buzz. #CFL

CFL News - Tate extension becomes all the more interesting when you take into account fact that Desjardins confessed....- @RedBlackGade #CFL 1/2...that he (Desjardins) has been unable to come to an agreement on an extension with Trevor Harris - @RedBlackGade #CFL #Redblacks 2/2....QB Trevor Harris is entering the last year of his current deal. - @RedBlackGade #CFL #Redblacks
That was quick....
CFL Headlines - The Snap: A New #4 In Riderville? dlvr.it/NRqNgH.....#4 - Marc-Olivier Brouillette

Still out there....Shakir Bell at RB.  J’Michael Deane, Jeff Perret at OL. Alan Michael Cash at DT. Cory Greenwood at LB. #CFL #CFLFA - Other names like DB John Ojo (injury & NFL), DT Cleyon Laing, OL Greg Van Roten have other irons in the fire like the NFL. #CFL #CFLFA

Herb Zurkowsky – If - when - Jim Popp's hired by the Argos, don't be surprised if he hires Justin Casey as one of his main scouts. Casey resigned from #Als.

That Popp/Trestman team was pretty awesome -- well coached and loaded with talent.

The wheels didn't come off the Als until Trestman left and Popp decided he was a full-time coach.

team with long serving experienced top qb is good, team without said qb is bad, news at 11.

seriously what happened to the Als is pretty simple. Calvillo retired and they had no replacement. As Bomber fans we know all about what it's like when you don't have a qb worth a damn.

Lawless is reporting that Popp & Trestman are being considered seriously. The only good thing would be Trestman. Popp ground the Als into the ground before he was fired.

But Popp was also undermined by the owner, right? I'm forgetting the timeline but it seems like everything truly fell apart AFTER he named himself HC.

Well, everything started falling apart when Calvillo retired...

Speaking of Calvillo, looks like he took a demotion this year, last year he was the OC, this year Chapdelaine is the OC and AC is the QB coach.

Which is a weird change from the normal Alouette way ... parachuting high-profile people into jobs they can't do / are not ready for.

It was a perfect storm- Calvillo got old, Trestman left and the ownership's involvement changed. Who knows- maybe Popp will do better in Toronto.

Sad part is that Montreal had a MILLION years,  to do that.   Epic fail

that after being the class of the league for like 10+ years.... Only one way a GMs tenure ends. (unless named buono)

What does it mean when all Ottawa had to pay for Drew Tate was a conditional 2018 5th round pick?

Was this just a salary dump?

Is Walters happier with LeFevour than what Tate might do?

Curious Calgary would make sure he did not come to Winnipeg! Maybe we are more of a threat than we appear ...

Short and simple answer: not the kind of cost/performance ratio we wanted to invest into a 3rd string QB.
