Riderfans spinning it that Carteri was fired because he was feeding the CFL info about Jones illegal activities. They just can't see what is right in front of their faces.

This is almost laughable, there were so many eyes on Jones misdeeds it would be impossible to keep them secret.   Jones fails to understand that the players are members of a union and if they see questionable activities that will have a detrimental effect on their position as individual players or a group one of them is surely going to report it.

Having signed Brouliette and re-signing Hecht makes this move kind of pointless imo

They gave up basically nothing to get him... seems like a good deal for the Riders... I'm not sure having Brouliette or Edem at safety is really making opposing QBs shake anyways...

depends on the conditional pick. If that ends up the riders first...

The only way that is possible (I'm sure it probably isn't in this case) is if Edem ends up being a league all-star and the Riders win the cup ... or something to that effect... in which case, that would make it an even better trade for the Riders...

Jones thinks he snookered Wally cause he's convinced the Riders will finish ahead of the Lions!

How often has wally been snookered in general? lol.

Cant say how good the deal was or wasnt with out knowing the conditions of course. But the crieders did get a decent NI out of it.

Stamps are losing OL to retirement at almost Rider-like pace.  Lavoie & Craighead are both 1st round picks who retired at age 25 within 16 months of each other. You can also add in Tsoumpas who retired early a few years ago.  Huff must have a few horseshoes wedged somewhere because it hasn't really seemed to affect them, we'll see how long that lasts.

Esks add 22 (!!) players including former Bisons player DJ Lalama......and a QB named Danny O'Brien...if this kid doesn't come to camp with a shock of hair red as the fires of hell, and a bag of potatoes over his shoulder, I'd be really disappointed....

?‍?Edmonton Eskimos have a new OC this year in Carson Walch.

A former All-American running back, returner and receiver at Winona State back in the late ’90s, Walch joined Jason Maas’ staff for his second Canadian Football League stint in 2016 as the receivers coach and passing game coordinator.

This off-season, Walch has taken over Maas’ role as the OC. - Jeff Krever CFL.ca

?‍?This isn't big time news, other than Maas relinquishing those duties, but Walch uses a 'grading' system.

Walch gives his receivers grade sheets after every game and practice.

No. 4 (Bowman) remembers going off for 185 yards on 10 catches in a win over Winnipeg last season, then receiving a 76 — a C+ by the American grading system.

"He’s disciplined, he’s organized, a great teacher, a communicator,” said Maas, entering his second season as a head coach. “He is fiery and he gets people’s attention when he speaks.”

Maas will still have plenty of say in the Eskimos’ offence this year but Walch will assume play-calling duties. For Maas, a former CFL quarterback who is familiar with climbing the ranks from coaching receivers and quarterbacks to becoming an offensive coordinator, calling plays is critical to the job.

Carson, he ain’t gonna yell at you. He’s going to hand you the paper and if you ask him a question, he’s going to tell you why. But I like him a lot. Having coaches like that is how you make it to the championship. - Bowman

?‍?Personally, I give that system of grading players, an EE.

Thanks for diggin that up. So hes under contract for this year and has to play for them to get a low pick. But they could cut him if he doesnt sign a multi year deal?

Not quite. He may never play for them, they really only want him if he takes a pay cut.
