I don't think Toby waives without the Jets telling him that they would make a deal for him not to be picked. This deal is really to keep Lowry / Perreault / Armia. I suspect they would have been fine with losing Dano, but with moving down 11 spots, they got Vegas to take no players from them. Chevy might have underestimated Vegas' interest in Enstrom. Jets lost no players. A swap of first round picks. Other teams gave up their first altogether. We still have one. Good players available at 24. He's not under contract. He's not a jet (well until Saturday). Chevy dropped 11 spots. That was basically the Price charged the jets for expansion. Brilliant really. And if we lost Enstrom 5 million buys us a pretty DAMN good replacement d-man. No this deal is a massive over payment for 2 marginal player....unless there is something else coming our way. Like Morrissey. Who's to say we still desperately need an LHD 2 years down the road?
