Some kinda bad moon over the Hamilton receivers. Banks looks like he's been replaced by Willy Hinchcliffe.  Tasker's dropping catches he makes in his sleep. Mike Jones coughs up the ball on the 5.

Masoli was pretty bad but his receivers were even worse.

Banks onfield clowning around with Chris Jones on the sideline between Ticats Offensive plays was odd.

Banks doesn't seem to do much of anything on the field anymore. Kick returns are weak side side side efforts, and not much receiving.

I predict he'll be cut.

just checked Tigercats have 12 or so players on 6 game injury list.

still, I don't know if they've done that good a job of getting good players. it appears not.

In his specific role, LeFevour has been fantastic....far better than I ever gave him credit for. Until Bridge's passport affects the ratio, I have no use for him...

'Fantastic' in his short yardage role?  Are you defending Justin Goltz or Dan LeFevour?

LeFevour is a 'serviceable' backup and that's about it...

And if Bridge was one of our 3 QBs, Poop Johnson would be starting...  he sits because of the number of Cdns on the roster not the ratio

I don't mind Bridge. Definitely learning but I like his tools. Still think he's be best served moving to receiver but his heart is in playing QB.

Played well last night. I don't know if I'd want him over LeFevour this year but ... only because he's got less experience and DLF is *safer*

He's the best Michael Bishop, but to be fair Bishop carved out a pretty long career. I honestly don't see him as much worse of a prospect than say Jonathan Jennings.

Wow, thats crazy - I knew they didn't qualify for ratio - thought you could still include them as one of your nationals...  super lame.

The rule is that way to prevent doing exactly what you suggested.

How many times does a 3rd string QB play?   How many teams would risk putting a Canadian there to get an extra import dresssed?

Hell there was a time in the Khari days we were so cheap and so injured we only dressed 2 QBs

I don't see the benefit of this rule...  why would you not want to develop a 3rd string Cdn QB in this league

I dont think teams would automatically do it at the expense of a good CDN ST specialist - they should count on the roster, league is supposed to favour Canadians

Nothing Jones does surprises me.

following some of the discussions over on Riderfans.com and it appears that the Riders suffered a number of injuries during the game and as of this morning no one has any feel for  how serious nor nor how long etc. I thought the Rider QB played a pretty good game in the first half however for whatever reason the Riders got too conservative in the second half and almost lost the game. Hamilton on the other hand seems to have played one of their worse games of the years in some eyes. Next week for the Riders will be interesting as they have the Stamps at home.

figuring out who's going to be the better quarterback is one of the biggest crap shoots there is in sports.

Tee Martin , for example.

Bridge winning against that Hamilton team, does not mean much really.

but I'm not sure how he did, cause I fell asleep during the game.

(Tee) Martin  During his junior season, Martin led the 1998 Tennessee Volunteers football team to a 13–0 record and a Fiesta Bowl victory over Florida State, winning the school its first NCAA Division I-A national football championship since 1951.

To be fair... I think that was the Jim Daley era... as much as we try to forget.

A starting Canadian QB should count as a Canadian towards the ratio. You shouldn't be allowed to dress another import if you have a backup Canadian QB, but if one of your seven starters is Canadian that should count.

There would be some issues implenting that if he got hurt or benched,  but then you'd have to treat the backup QB like a DI IMO.

Considering Davis is the Bombers back up. I wouldnt be completely opposed to have bridge as a 3rd stringer. But ill take davis over him everytime.

Bridge has had a few flashes, but I'd be curious to see how well he did going up against Devone Claybrooks's defense before forming an opinion of him.

I'll leave it up to our coaches to decide what they think about Davis.  What I just wish fans would realize is that what he's doing now is the way you're supposed to get QBs reared up by having a real competent starter operating the controls and giving the younger guy a better view on how to do it.  This is what Brink, Elliott and Goltz did not have and what most of the Als QBs they cycled through after McPherson did not have, or at least very little time to learn from Calvillo.

I just think it's no mistake that Franklin has the stock he has because he saw how Mike Reilly did it and learned from him.

An NI is an NI and that should include the QB. I don't see a down side to teams choosing to carry a 3rd string NI QB instead of an import. It would certainly be better for Canuck QB development and it would result in an extra backup import for those teams who choose an NI QB. Both are wins IMO.

I agree but I guess from the CFL perspective is their enough quality NI  Qbs  to go around?

Two for now...

considering how lax the cfl is with who can qualify as a national - no reason to 'protect' a 3rd string QB or special teams spot...

at least if a cdn is third stringer, he's making 80k... instead of 50

I agree with this.

many times you see comments "why can't the Bombers develop a quarterback?"

that's what they're trying to do it seems.

I think Buck Pierce, quarterback coach,   deserves  some credit with Nichols turn around and good play.

Likely  he's also helping Davis as well.

Buck seems like a very good fit on the current version of the Bombers.

No there aren't enough quality NI QB's to go round. Right now, it would only affect Calgary and Regina. but it would make them worth more than the average import QB. It becomes a cost/benefit analysis. Is it better to pay your 2nd or 3rd string QB more to get an extra backup import and the possibility of a starting NI QB?  I'd expect that several teams would go the NI 3rd string route and roll the dice that they'd never have to play.

I don't care what he showed vs that awful Hamilton team last night, Brandon Bridge is "teh shits" as they say. I'd take LeFevour and Davis all day and twice on Sundays.....it's asinine to say otherwise.

Sheesh. You need a coffee. You're grumpy lately. We're 8-3. Cheer up a little. The bye will be over soon and you can get you a fix of some Bombers.
