Still pretty early but this looks a pretty monumental step in the right direction. Pretty historic moment to see two leaders cross into the other territory, too. (http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/south-korea-north-friday-summit-1.4636110)

N Korea won't dismantle their nuclear weapons.

President Trump agreed to the summit on a whim, surprising his advisers and the South Korean envoys who conveyed Kim Jong-un’s invitation. Had he discussed the invitation with his advisers first, he would have heard that Kim’s reported interest in a deal on “denuclearization of the whole Korean Peninsula” is nothing of the kind.

Those who have negotiated nuclear matters with Pyongyang know that Kim’s words were a familiar North Korean demand to end the “threat” posed by the U.S.-South Korea alliance, the presence of U.S. troops in Korea, and the nuclear umbrella that defends South Korea and Japan.

Even though he knows nothing about the matter, Trump thinks he knows better.  No need for any advice from anyone.

And..... America can't be trusted not to break treaties. Iran. Libya. Paris accord. Nafta. Pacific trade agreement.

Why would anyone trust them? Their signature means nothing.

Gadhafi (?) had a nuclear weapons program. He made a deal with US to give it up. Remember he was a "good guy" for about a week? photo ops with Tony Blair, Condoleeza Rice?

Pretty sure Kim knows about that case, and saw pictures ofGadhafi being executed on the street by a mob. and Hillary boasting "we came, we saw, he died"

He'd have to be as stupid as Trump to give up nuclear weapons.

I know, I'm Debbie Downer.

Ford today announced it will phase out most cars it sells in North America. According to its latest financial release, the auto giant “will transition to two vehicles” — the Mustang and an unannounced vehicle, the Focus Active, being the only traditional cars it sells in the region. Ford sees 90 percent of its North America portfolio in trucks, utilities and commercial vehicles. Citing a reduction in consumer demand and product profitability, Ford is in turn not investing in the next generation of sedans. The Taurus is no more.

What I assume is that Ford is throwing in the towel and can't compete with the imports for the sedan market. With the rising gas prices will people keep going forward with Trucks and SUVS?

Once Trump scraps the emissions standards and rolls back the fuel efficiency targets to pre-1974 we'll be able to stretch out our legs once again in one of these beauties.

I think the small and mid-size SUV market will be fine.  They are pretty good on gas and people want the extra room and options.  Trucks appeal to truck people and I dont think too many truck people will suddenly switch to a prius because of gas.

I replaced my V8 Grand Cherokee with a Cherokee Trailhawk, one of the reasons for the decrease in size being gas.  But I wouldnt go any smaller.
