Good article today on this draft and Walters, highlighting the receiving talent in this draft. I suspect if there is a run on OL, Walters goes WR or DB, if the Dbs and WR go then OL. I also suspect that no matter who we pick people will complain.3 points -

I have been quite critical of Enstrom at times. To play defence in the NHL at his size there is not much margin for error. In the past there has been too much error. This season has been a lot better. Even if he isn't physical, he has had sound body and stick positioning when defending. He just hasn't been healthy. This season he's been our 2nd best defenceman on that side. The Jets are better with him in the lineup and hopefully he's ready for the playoffs.3 points -

Mark's CFL Week
Mark F reacted to WinnipegGordo for a topic
It was pretty good overall for its second year. Just look at how long it's taken Grey Cup week to evolve into what it is today. For Friday night it seemed like they could have scheduled something more at the Convention Centre. If there was no Jets game I probably wouldn't have gone to the Bombers tailgate. My suggestion is to have a CFL players skills competition on Friday night. The league kept on mentioning that 52 players were brought to CFL week but the truth is most of them weren't accessible to the fans. Saturday afternoon there was a bit of lull for events. They should have had players from each team at the Convention Centre signing autographs. As it was most of players that signed autographs were Bombers or former Bombers . I believe the only none Bomber was Greg Ellingson. The line-up for Doug Bown, Matt Dunigan and Milt was probably 90 minutes long and they were only there for an hour. Clearly there's an appetite for autographs. The CFL tweet-up was a disappointment as it was nothing like what they have at the Grey Cups. There was no players, no engagement, no pictures with the Grey Cup, no contests etc. It seemed more like an end of day wind-up for CFL staffers that worked the events.1 point -
One thing researchers are looking at are micro-concussions. The small, repeated hits that players face during the game. OL face the most. Not big hits but small ones. These micro-concussions may not lead to any symptoms until years after receiving them, where the connections in the brain are torn apart.1 point

I agree. People here often form a life-long opinion based on one bad play. Not saying he's only made one bad play. Every player makes bad plays. But Toby takes a lot of heat. Plus, if you're small, you're already hated by a segment of fans. My impression was Toby likes it here and the Jets like Toby. Clearly, he's not making $5+ next contract but if they came up with something easy. Realistically, if toby leaves, they are looking for another LHD anyway. So if they re-sign him at a good rate, whats the problem? The only concern is health. If he's in the plans as the #2 or even #3 LHD, he has to be healthy more than he's not. Regardless, Chiarot is playing very well and you have to pat Morrow on the back too. We're missing half our starting D corp right now and still winning.1 point -

Chiarot's been better than just the last two weeks. He's stepped up admirably since the injury bug bit the left side and has logged some heavy minutes. Since the ASG break, he's played 25 games and has 2 goals and 7 assists, is +14 and has averaged nearly 16 mins. of ice-time. He's not going to dazzle offensively, but in his own end he's performed very well for a considerable stretch of time.1 point -

I think its up to Toby.. He really likes it here..similar to Sweden where hes from.. Euros love it... But there was some chatter he might want to go home to Sweden after this contract. I see a guy who gets injured more often than not now tho... For 1 to 2 million? Yeah I'd bring him back... Because despite a couple peoples opinions... He is better than Chiarot and IMO hes still the 2nd best LHD we have... Yup. Better than Kulikov even.. Toby excellent in his own end and makes a great outlet pass. Guy is underrated a bit by some but my guess is its highly likely he goes back home to Sweden cuz the guys been injured lots the last couple years plus his GF is battling cancer so.... Yeah. Think he goes home.1 point -
Its true heart can over come size in football, with in reason. Mlber is a heart and systems position. Sherrit is certainly an exception but you dont have to be 250 or even 240 to play mlber.1 point

I generally liked rick Ralph. He’s funny. But he’s doing his best to make this fight a bigger story than it is. Anyone with close friends or anyone who has plaid competitor sports has been in a fight or witnessed fights. It happens. And the description by wheeler that they hugged it out and then joked about it is exactly what I’ve seen many times among my own friends. No conspiracy here.1 point -
You're waiting for something to "click" in his head, like Carter. But, he may never get it, like Carter. Too bad. But he's a human being, prone to mistakes. I hope he's happy and never regrets "what could have been". But, wow, would it be good to get him and for him to figure things out. A big chance and not the type of personality Walters seems to want to put in the room. I'm okay with his decisions on personnel and personality.1 point

Simonise was hot garbage in the 1 on 1's. I think he's likely to fall depending on how he came off in the interviews. I can't see many teams taking him over Petermann or Chapman. At best he's the 3rd receiver off the board IMO.1 point -

Chapman and Petermann at receiver. Onyeka (the DB not the DL). Jackson Bennett as a safety/WIL/SAM. I think Brett Wade DT out of Calgary could play some snaps, rest of the DL pretty meh. Maybe Shepley and Korte at OL will challenge to get on the roster and field as rookies. Rest need time/will be chasing kicks. Beaulieu from Western killed the DB/REC special teams drill.1 point -
I actually just came back from there, I got my picture taken with the grey cup, the CFL Hall of Fame employee that was handling it was telling a story of how his father was a player in the CFL, in fact my hand was over his name on the cup (yeah his team won the grey cup, I don't remember the guys name but this was back in the 1950's) how do you guys post photos here? I can post it from facebook but that means showing my real name1 point
