Myers is up for the Masterton3 points

He's been acting like a crybaby all year, refusing interviews, claiming the Jets never gave him a real shot in all his time here, etc. I don't think that's at play here though. I think the Jets and Hutch both know he won't be back so they are letting Comrie and Mason run with the backup job.2 points

OK serious question here, is there really THAT much difference between 220 and 215? Like honestly 5 pounds makes a guy too small or big enough?2 points

Its also interesting that when Judge whatshisname was being criticised for his harassment/assault/interest in teenage girls, the GOP was happy to point out they were old enough to make their own decisions and who cared anyway but now 17 year olds are too young and stupid to have an opinion about being shot in school.2 points -

MLBers in the CFL are 220-230. Not 215 lbs. They don't play an 18 game season in the SEC. Not even close. As far as a MLB goes whether it's the SEC or CFL they still deal with 300 lb plus OL. He'll get ground down as the season goes on especially late in the year in October if he keeps his weight at 215. Weight, speed & strength are issues whether people want to admit it or not. He may look great in his college video then turn out to be too small to play linebacker & too slow for safety up here. Rather than pencil him in at MLB let's just see what he does at training camp & during exhibition season first.2 points -

Did anyone happen to hear the interview Troy Westwood did (on 1290) of Rod Peterson, voice of the Riders?? Apparently Westie asked Peterson for his prediction of the upcoming season. Peterson said" Riders 1st in the west, Bombers 5th in the west.". (Peterson talked of this on Rider radio and said his prediction was met with dead silence...).1 point -

I agree. I saw this on another forum where they are being negative about Ronda. The guy doing the interview does a piss-poor job of phrasing his question and then doubles down by essentially repeating the poorly phrased part - "Would you go back in time?" I'd make fun of the guy too, if I were being interviews. How about "When did you decide to leave MMA?" "Is there any chance you'd consider fighting in MMA again?" Pretty simple questions. Would you go back in time...lol1 point -

That guy is being a ****. Rather than admitting he botched his stupid question and correcting himself, he acts all exasperated like it's her fault. She didn't misunderstand the question at all... that implies the question made sense in the first place. He had a chance to correct himself and still spits out "Would you go back in time and fight again?"1 point -

similar to when athletes are told to "just shut up and play" when they talk about something that's unpleasant to some people. The greatest most revered athlete in modern history did not keep quiet. Every country has hatred and bigotry, but in America, it seems to be deeper and wider than in any other western world country. It is very unsettling. There are huge problems to deal with in this world.1 point -

yeah that sounds about right. The larger mlber is kinda of old school now. It really depends on the athlete. Its probably possible to get it done down in the 210 range, and up in the 250+ range. Though both would be harder. But if you are strong/fast enough it could work. The nfl has and has had some exceptional freak athletes who are small and ridiculously strong and big + crazy fast. In a best case scenario, when you notice them. Its when you dont notice them because theyve been swallowed up by a lineman or blocking back, or been run over by a large back like messam. An end, wil and mac in the cfl has to be strong and tough enough to survive the lumps they will take when they end up 1 on 1 with a OL. I dont think the league they play in in college is as big a deal as some. Big sec type schools do have better over all talent / athletes. But that goes both ways. You play with better and have more covered up. Because while the level is higher, its still a lot of raw guys who are either talented or athletic. Not a ton of guys who are both. I also dont think the big schools style of play synchronizes as well with up here. If he has what it takes to cut it up here, we will see soon enough. If he doesnt, it wont matter what position he plays. And if he does, he will work his way into a niche. Hes gonna be interesting to watch and see how he pans out.1 point -

CFL Combine
Goalie reacted to JuranBoldenRules for a topic
Seriously doubt he's playing in a CFL game anytime soon. Project to my eyes. Got dominated by a pretty lousy group of DL at the combine. I think the Bombers will have a few chances to pick him. There`s a pretty big drop from a handful of players, talking guys who are going to be in the CFL, not NFL, and the next tier. I think Montreal takes Chapman. And then Hamilton has the board after that. Why trade up? Why trade down if you're Montreal? You need an elite player not 3 2nd rounders.1 point -

One thing researchers are looking at are micro-concussions. The small, repeated hits that players face during the game. OL face the most. Not big hits but small ones. These micro-concussions may not lead to any symptoms until years after receiving them, where the connections in the brain are torn apart.1 point
-
I'll guess that their will be a run on OL and we will choose an OL with our first pick too.1 point

hitting with helmet should be a penalty no matter what the circumstances, even if the ball carrier ducks his head, moving into the defender's helmet. Too hard to tell which it is, and player safety is too important. Take that one out of the refs hands too. No player is going to intentionally move his head to where he is going to get hit by a helmet. If there's a mistake now and then tough beans. People's brains are more important than first downs and touchdowns. Learn to wrap up and tackle, forget the big "highlight reel" hits. and most of this will be eliminated by that alone. ie: Teach these guys how to tackle. Their own health will be better served as well.1 point
