I'm old enough to remember too many unjustified firings of coaches in the past. Cal Murphy canned after losing a playoff game in Edmonton. We always contended under Murphy, and won our share of cups too.....but the sky was falling and the panic took hold of the decision makers. Horrible decision, but in their minds "somebody has to pay". We brought in Reinbold and that was the end of a successful era. Dave Ritchie canned after we couldn't win the big one. We went 14-4, 12-6, 11-7 in the three years prior to 2004. We got off to a bad start in '04, and once again we panicked and fired a good coach. We replaced him with Jim Daley. Doug Berry took us to a cup appearance in 2007, then after making the playoff in '08 we canned him too and replace him with Mike Kelly. Paul Lapolice took us to a cup appearance in 2011, so naturally when we struggled half way through 2012, we replaced him with Tim Burke. I firmly believe that Walters and O'Shea are one the right path. We're winning more than we are losing, and we are contending for the cup. It will happen sooner if we continue to build and offer a great program with consistency. The knee jerk firing of coaches rarely works out well. PS> I'm very pleased that the Jets didn't bow to the loonies running around last summer calling for Paul Maurice's replacement. Funny how they have all disappeared.3 points

I said in this particular case. (Cohen raid) Looking at the previous actions (that we know about) of Trump's ex campaign chair, campaign manager, national security advisor, son in law, and now his personal lawyer to just list a few.......seems to be no shortage of criminality, to keep any special prosecutor busy.2 points -

You completely missed the point. Matthews is obviously a legend and even he didn't win the Grey Cup in 17 of his 22 seasons. He went 1/5 in stops in Montreal and BC. That doesn't mean he was a bad coach and needed to be fired in those non Cup years, just like MOS and Walters don't need to be fired now. The point is not to diminish Matthews' accomplishments but to put them in perspective. He had several years that looked just like what MOS put on the field in 2016-17. It doesn't mean he wasn't great in those years just like 2 playoff losses don't mean that MOS can't take us to the cup.2 points

My wife was an attorney. We watched that interview a couple weeks ago where Cohen's buffoon attorney was getting grilled by Megyn Kelly. Her audience was laughing openly at his assertions that Cohen was just a good guy who just wanted to take care of the boss. When she asked him if Cohen ever threatened people, he said "I have heard that through the grapevine" which is a HILARIOUS thing for your attorney to say on national TV. After my wife was done laughing, she explained that we were looking at the attorney dumb enough to work for a guy who is dumb enough to work for Donald Trump, and that the stupid doesn't add up, it multiplies.2 points

Bombers add 2 imp wrs. Jerome lane. Interesting story and body type. Real big strong guy. Started out as a S/lb, itd be pretty awesome if he was a good kick cover guy as well as wr. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/jerome-lane?id=2558120 Dominique reed is also interesting but the opposite. Another tall guy listed 6'3 but listed a shade under 180. Did some kick returning too. Blew up his pro day 4.39 40" vert 10'4 broad jump 4.50 shuttle and 6.82 3 cone. 6 reps on the bench press. but if hes 180 that isnt bad. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000793456/article/pro-day-results-arkansas-georgia-wisconsin-virginia-tech2 points

Chiarot I guarantee will not have a lot of friends on the Wild by the end of the series. He plays that physical game that built for the playoffs.2 points -

I don't think you should speculate on what the driver was thinking at the moment and to suggest that this professional driver "forgot" he was driving a long combination vehicle is irresponsible. When the investigators have filed their report, we'll know a lot more.1 point

Mueller is a Republican who was appointed by George W. Bush to run the FBI. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, is an Trump appointee Chris Wray, the current director of the FBI. is also a Trump appointee Berman, the U.S. attorney whose office executed the raid, is a former law partner to Rudy Giuliani, of all people and was appointed by Sessions These warrants had to have been approved by officials at the Department of Justice, then a federal judge would have had to review the evidence and sign off on it....... knowing that they would be sanctioning a raid against the personal attorney of a sitting president. This red herring/fishing expedition narrative, in this particular case.......is a complete crock.1 point -

my guess would be LaFrance and Fogg as the 2 returners with demski an alternate. Demski will be looked up to be our starting NI receiver (at least one of them) so they aren't gonna gas him returning kicks constantly. That said I thought Demski was getting better at being a returner until he got hurt, even took one to the house iirc1 point -

make it $7 million. I was watching BC1 news on Saturday and they had just broken one million, and the news anchor was talking about the Go Fund Me and how amazing it was that they had blown through the original $300,000 target so fast and how she was amazed at how fast Canadians were rallying to help, then she choked up and couldn't talk anymore and they had to go to commercial. Way to go Canada. So proud right now.1 point -

Question the Bomber scouting department? So we are not convinced that our QB, RB, top Receivers and most of our key guys are not "good enough" ???1 point

There is a lot of luck that goes into winning the Grey Cup... gotta get healthy and hot at the right time. So all you really have to do is play well enough to secure a playoff spot and then hope for the best. People don't like to hear that but it is reality. As long as we're getting into the playoffs I would never fire Walters/O'Shea.1 point -

The only backwards move this off-season IMO is swapping Bond for Neufeld. I'm hopeful about Couture and Spooner but I know Neufeld sucks. I feel it's quite likely they'll end up playing 3 imports at some point this season. I just hope it happens before Nichols gets ruined. No other move is negative. In terms of NI's the draft is still upcoming and they've basically moved two spots to offense from defense. They have accumulated a ton of NI talent, guys who are great special teamers who they've developed into role players on D. In my opinion they need to add a NI DL who can potentially take some snaps, but there's also a strong possibility they dress 5 import defensive linemen with Corney and Ekakatie. They have Jeffcoat and many of the new Americans coming in for training camp are those end types who can slide inside and play 3 technique for pass rush. Westerman was overpaid and while he brought some intangibles also brought a lot of negative plays to the field that almost negated the big plays he could make. They also need to add a blocking back to replace Normand but there are at least 2 and probably 3 in this draft who could fill the role (Mackie, Moisan, Green) plus Lafrance and Thera-Plamandon. To me there is quite of bit of room to improve over the past couple years with import scouting. Seems like they've been quite aggressive in bringing in CFL veteran free agents to fill some of those gaps, but it would be really nice to find a quality receiver, linebacker (and continued growth from JSK), a true rush end.1 point
