While he may not have been the first wrestler i associated with wrestling - being an 80s kid Hogan, Macho Man and The Ultimate Warrior were the cream off the crop, I would always hear that Bruno was like THE guy back in the day basically braking wrestling from a travelling sideshow to a sporting event as his title reign was so long people would fill madison square garden everytime just to see if that was gonna be the night he lost it. Cant say I ever watched him wrestle but I would have to say he gets some o the most if not the most accolades from anyone and everyone associated with wrestler past or present. I assume they will do something more extravagant to honour his legacy than others who've passed before him, probably change the WWE Hall of Fame name to something akin to the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Pro Wrestling HoF but like Bruno Sammartino Sports Entertainment HoF

The only comparison between McKenzie and Petan is height and the WHL team they played for. Petan is slow.. Hes kind of soft as in he doesn't go to the dirty areas.. More of a playmaker type. Mckenzie is similar to Brendan Gallagher... Feisty.. Will go to the dirty areas and muck it up.. Has a good shot.

McKenzie is Petan 2.0 but not as good!

He had 61 straight sell outs of MSG which is incredible. I started watching when he was the colour man for WWE and he had a memorable angle with Randy Savage. After Savage had crushed Steamboats throat with the ring bell, he was being interviewed by Bruno and was bragging about it and Bruno lost it. "You're filth! You're slime!" and then grabbed Savage by the throat with both hands. He was goaded into coming out of retirement mainly to team with his son David Sammartino but David never made it. Bruno did do some matches with "modern" guys like Savage, HTM and others. Hogan had a photo tweeted with them teaming together. When we think of Hogan being on top in the 80's, Hogan had a 4 year reign. Bruno nearly double that and 11 years over two reigns. Really incredible. The ethnic working class hero was a big deal. Vince Sr went with Pedro after Bruno. And then Bob Backlund. When WWWF brought in Hogan the first time, the reason he was called Hogan was to appeal to Irish fans (named by Vince Sr). And ofcourse, Bruno Mars was actually named after him!

The business types at Sportsnet really need to call Romanuk in to the office. They are going to make a boatload if the Jets go all the way. As soon as the Jets are out there will be 1000's of cancelled Sportsnet subscriptions.

I don't think Sportsnet is consciously doing anything. After several years of watching their coverage, I just assume they're incompetent. Headbutt. Elbow to Trouba's head. Unless you were watching the game (closely) you would never know they happened. Sportsnet certainly doesn't. Oh, what I wouldn't give to have TSN3 Jets team working this series.

Sportsnet is trying their hardest to turn us heel. They have such an old school mentality of The Jets... The story is we are big rough vicious mean... Yet.. In reality we are more based on speed or skill. They make a big stink about Morrissey and say the Jets like to take liberties with Wild players after the whistle but... I don't see his comments like a slap in the face. He's just stating what happened. Bombers gave him an option, he didn't respond. So Bombers moved on. "Bombers chose not to choose me" is exactly what happened. He doesn't seem to be upset about it. And I can't imagine the bombers are either. Henoc had his priorities which delayed his decision. Bombers had there's and needed a decision faster than Henoc could provide. Sometimes that's business, it just doesn't work out. This is 3down trying to make a story where there is none.

I doubt that's why they don't want to have it. Reality with fan forums in every city is you only get the die hards. Die hards don't sell tickets, a good football team and mass engagement do. I live in Calgary. I see just as many stamps logos on cars as I do flames logos. People here love their team. They hate the choking, but eventually they know the stamps will take home a GC. The bigger issue in my opinion is weather. The stadium is wide open... in bad or cold weather it really SUCKS sitting in that stadium. No much covering from wind. Or rain. Or snow. Or rider fans. Those asshats are everywhere. One thing I liked about the Stamps is how they run the Red and White club. Every member has assigned reps that come to the tables and ask for feedback every game. They engage and find out how the members business is doing, what they can do to increase engagement / involvement, referrals, etc. The argos can learn alot from other teams. I was living in Toronto from 2005 to 2011... the first few years fan support was great. In game entertainment was great, the team made an effort engage with fans, get them on the field after and create a "family" atmosphere. Something changed after 2007 when the 100th cup hangover was over and then it went downhill from there.
