  2. Finishing up a few more things from camp today (saw almost all of it except the first 3 minutes of drills): Streveler was much more comfortable as practice progressed. They finished the practice with 10 minutes of scrimmage drills. Streveler started and got about the first 3-4 minutes, then gave way to Ross for a few minutes. Bennett got one throw and then Streveler finished the rest of the drill, probably another 4ish minutes. Streveler had a really ugly screen throw to Dressler that went straight to the ground early on. The rest was mostly positive. Had a really nice ball to Bowman on a comeback route that he put low and away from the DB. Another play he went over the middle for Dressler, and he put the ball nicely ahead of Dressler and away from the diving defender. A few check downs and short throws. One play where he scrambled but if the DL was allowed to hit he would have been clobbered. I would expect that we will use him creatively in the run game as well, so that should take some pressure off.

    DI's

Actually if Hardrick and Foketti can't go..and we have to dress 4 national O-lineman to start the game we conceivably don't have to start 2 national receivers and one of Tompkins/Flanders wouldn't have to even be a DI. I truly hope we 46 Lankford to start the season and see what Demski/Augustine/Fogg do on kick-offs and utilize Tompkins or Washington (if ready to go) as the 4th American receiver. They offer you way more than Lankford as a receiver, and really...not having Lankford on roster as a return guy isn't going to be the reason we lose a game...but a big bodied stud receiver could be a reason you win a game

  11. Darrin Bauming‏ @DarrinBauming 32m32 minutes ago #Bombers QB Chris Streveler looks to be the man. Alex Ross running with the 2s. Looking like Winnipeg will be the first @CFL team to start a straight-out-of-college rookie quarterback in Week 1 since... Anthony Calvillo in 1994 for the Las Vegas Posse.

  13. I like it, I feel like he has the higher ceiling. Could he implode? Possibly. But, Ross looks like Alex Brink 2.0. Take the chance and go with the guy who can potentially keep this offence afloat long-term.

  17. Here's the difference, when it's determined that Dressler is no longer the best option for his position going forward Walters will have a discussion with him and allow him to bow out on his own terms with the dignity he deserves as a future member of the H.O.F.. Very different from how the Riders dealt with Bagg.

  20. It's more about ratio, I am fine having Neufeld or Couter playing RG if it means now we can have guys like Bighill Jeffcoat Nevis Poop and TO/Roh on D.

  21. nobody is willing to negotiate the way Jones tries...thats the bigger issue there...plus he has no idea how to manage a SMS system...and it has shown the last few years...keep believing it is a "didn't fit the system" thang...whereas it's more of a "oh crap we in SMS trouble and gotta shave $$" He rob's Peter to pay Paul...now are in a very serious depth and Canadian talent predicament..and sadly it can't be fixed this year ...well because he has his assets all piled up in a couple spots and can't address the glaring issues....He is a horrible G.M and evaluator of talent and how to build a team. His sucess before as a H.C was mainly due to him having things all set up for him and he just reaped the rewards from it...plain and sim[ple

  26. Yeah we have built nice CDN o-line depth to continue and move forward with a National interior (Guard-Center-Guard) Re-watched the BC game and am more than comfortable if Spooner or Couture had to step in at guard as in game replacement or for several games if need be. Spooner plays with a nasty edge and him and Chungh at guards would give the 0-line a real mean streak to it. We also have Speller backing up the back-ups and he actually impressed me too being trhown it against the BC regulars and working with the other guys who have never played a game together before...and other than few blips here and there and the turnstyle that #65 was actually fared quite well all things considered. Bryant and Hardrick are solid as solid can be and Foketti having to come in for one of them isn't that big a drop off...we drafted well and prepared well for longevity..we should be pleased. Now look what C.Jones has done...poor drafting and bad assett management. Even if they want to start 3 Canadian O-lineman I don't think they realistically can. At moment JSJ is hurt..again and basically a bust..and Bladek is hurt too...and really isn't that good..Labatte is aging and injury concerns a lot now and Clarke....worst center in the league. So even if Bladek can start the year healthy a Labatte/Clarke/Bladek trio is weakest in league...no game day roster back-up who is national...and get this...not a single guy who is a national on the PR....Like WTF?!!?!?!

  27. I love how you constantly group 20 years of managers/coaches and presidents into one group like they've all been using the exact same model to run an organization. Lol. I'll give you credit though, you are really good at pretending to know what you're talking about.

I was watching the news this morning and you know it's bad when Harper and Scheer both stand by Trudeau 100% and vocally support him.... has any US President been this despised by the Canadian Gov't?

  30. I would say salary cap more then ratio. Tough to justify the big dollars to a guard but no denying his talent. If the price is right I’d love him back here. He just solidifies our offensive line when he’s in the line up.

  31. It's because a quarterback who can't pass from the pocket is the easiest kind of quarterback to defend. A quarterback who can pass from the pocket weaponizes the whole field and all of his teammates. The best scrambling quarterbacks are dangerous because they can pass from the pocket too so they can't simply be defended based on their scrambling, teams have to defend the whole field.

  34. I think their best chance to win is a strong option type offense with Streveler controlling the clock to give the D a chance to win it. None of these QBs are worth a **** as passers yet.

  35. Either guy makes me nervous....Looks like a coin-flip and cross everything....fingers ...eyes...toes..I only hope we leave whoever starts in for awhile and don't pull on the leash too quick....Whoever follows him up might be on a shorter one...What a predicament ...No choice but to work around it and hope the D comes up BIG(HILL)

Yeah, but good for them. I am happy to see that. Doug Ford as well. Smart politically too. I think Bannatyne is right. Trump is doing what he's always done. also amazingly, when the whole story comes out, it's going to be worse than what we already know. doesn't seem possible.

  42. Trudeau's popularity is going to absolutely soar, he needs to send Trump a thank-you basket! Seriously the man is so deranged he's spent a lifetime being an abusive misogynistic bully and now he's applying these techniques to world politics because he knows no other way. Shame on America for allowing this to happen.

  45. I don’t think it matters how he’s acquiring American OL. It’s just good to see shutdown tackles and guards out there, if they’re going that way with the ratio anyway.
    2 points
  46. Well if you want any of them to succeed someone is going to have to get more reps in practice and have a gameplan designed for them. Ross is very different from the other two IMO.
    2 points
  47. Ross had a horrible first pre-season game and a good 2nd one. That's what I expect to continue happening for a while, even in game. Inexperienced QB's are almost always hot and cold. They'll do something great then something stupid. They'll make a great read, then a bad one. They'll run for a big gain, then take too long in the pocket and get sacked. They'll deliver on time on target then late or off target. We simply have to expect the good with the bad. It comes with the territory.
