Chris Streveler is a former NCAA QB who came straight to the CFL. 10/10 in his first preseason game. OK. What else? Streveler attended Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Ill. and he led them to an 11-1 record and conference championships as both a junior and a senior. He was named conference Player of the Year in 2011 and 2012 and was a first-team all-state selection in 2012 and was recognized as Academic All-State in 2011 and 2012 and named team MVP. High school highlights: After high school, Streveler signed with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers program. The Gophers play at the highest level of college football, Division I FBS, in the Big Ten conference. He was a backup in his freshman year and went 4/11 with 1 TD and 1 INT. In 2015 the team moved him to wide receiver. Following 2015, he transferred to the University of South Dakota to get some playing time at QB. The University of South Dakota Coyotes play in Division I FCS, the second highest level of college football, between Division I FBS and Division II. Stefan Logan played there too... a long time ago. In 10 games in 2016, he went 164/273 (60.1%) for 1947 yards, with 22 TDs and 9 INT. He also ran 161 times for 823 yards and 9 touchdowns. The team went 4-7 and missed the playoffs. In 13 games in 2017, he went 316/481 (65.7%) for 4134 yards, with 32 TDs and 8 INT. He also ran 168 times for 720 yards and 11 touchdowns. Streveler was also the runner up for the Walter Payton award... awarded to the top player in Division I FCS. The team went 8-5 and lost in the second round of the playoffs to Sam Houston State... Timothy Flanders' alma mater. Streveler had perhaps the greatest game of his college career against Sam Houston State, going 33/54 for 520 yards and five touchdowns with two interceptions, to go along with 51 yards rushing with one touchdown in a losing effort. I actually like more threads as opposed to less, what irks me is the people who create a thread for every mundane thought that pops into their head.

okay, I've complained about thread proliferation, and I was probably a little irritable about it, and I regret that. This site is my primary source for Bomber news and analysis, so I like to read that stuff instead of the editorial / opinion stuff that I could get from Friesen if I wanted it. If I were God-Emperor of MBB, here's the thread creation rhythm I'd want: Around The League 2018 Season -- all non-Bomber news for the whole season. (There was a super great week in review/preview thing we had last year, I can't remember who posted it, but they used the word balloon emoji a lot. Tweets and news bits with embedded reactions that were usually apt or funny. Would love to see that return. Was it called In Case You Missed It?) Bomber Game Week / Bye Week Thread -- opens on Monday on game week, tracks all the Bomber news for that week (Streveler starting, etc) Game Day Thread obvs numerous free-for-all post-game analysis threads -- there are trusted names in this business, I know to look for the good ones. Legit large developments (Jones fired, Nichols gets bionic legs, Dickenson appoints himself short-yardage QB for Stamps) get their own threads. But really, I'm gonna chill out on this topic from here on out.

the o-line will get it done...no issues there...same unit as last 2 years now basically save for Bond and the loss of him isn't going to be hardly noticeable..Christ if he got cut from the sad sack O-line that is Sask then he must have really regressed...nobody on their current o-line could displace anyone on ours..I'd go as far to say that our back-ups (Fokketti/Couture/Spooner) are all guys who could slot in and start there and make that team better....man sure is nice to be where we are with O-line depth and talent then it is there eh?

The board software tracks what you've read and you can jump to the last thing you read on a thread by clicking on the little star or circle to the left of the thread title. Really makes those long threads more readable, for me anyway.

People want to come here and read about big news. Whether that is Adam Bighill signing in Winnipeg or Johnny Manziel signing in Hamilton. We don't need to cram those into "Offseason Discussion". I don't see why that is remotely necessary. We are not in danger of running out of space, as far as I know. I think there is a place for a "Bombers weekly thread" but if something big happens, like Matt Nichols going down with injury in practice, that NEEDS its own thread. I should be able to come here and click on exactly the thread I want and read instant commentary from the community. I agree with others that there is no need for "This is my random thought" threads. But the absolute WORST thing is having someone come on here and post some news, and the first comment is "Why isn't this in mega-thread-123?" How unbelievably annoying. I'd like this site to be as accessible as possible. The new season is starting and it would be nice to attract some new thoughts and viewpoints. Having multiple clearly defined, smaller threads is the way to attract new readers who eventually become new posters. It's all about speed and ease-of-use.

Lapo today implied that was on a receiver not running the right route. He said that a receiver was supposed to run the safety off but it didn’t happen, so the safety only had one look and went with it. I feel like everyone underestimates the difference our starting receivers and o-line will make. The throws Ross nade are the same regardless of if you have a third stringer or Bowman in there: check down check down check down. Somehow Streveller comes in with the same crew and makes Thompkins and White look like all stars because he’s actually willing to put the ball up in one on one coverage.

On top of that, we have to listen to Trump's verbal garbage, about how they trust each other, Kim's "great personality" and how NK loves their leader. The Don, true to form.....also suggested to Kim that they could collaborate on some future real estate opportunities - perhaps The Don got his actual concession, there. Then you juxtaposition all this.....against Trump's bellowing, bullying, and belittling of pretty well all of America's traditional allies - who actual have aided them, in fighting for, and protecting freedoms and liberties. Disgusting. btw - where are all these Republican super patriots, who always demanding that America must stand against dictators and oppressive regimes, and protect US values? If a thread is interesting or relevant......it elicits responses. If not.....crickets. As long as it does not too closely resemble Nasty Nate output....all is well. I read threads, not count them.

I prefer smaller, more focused threads. It becomes too difficult to have any type of meaningful discussion about a player when competing with the entire topic of "Blue Bombers 2018 Training Camp". Had this argument once before as well.

I went back and re-watched his preseason game again. I'm pretty excited, though he is going to have a bunch of mistakes for sure. His running ability against BC was probably overlooked. I think you can craft an offense for him.

I am not convinced that the esks OL is great, I think Reilly is the key there. He is a slippery bugger who is hard to sack and is a leading to escape and keep plays alive.

A reasonable number of new threads don't bother me at all. Not sure what harm can be caused by posting a thread. one person posting five new threads a day, for instance, would be silly, and unhelpful, but I haven't seen anything like that. Just don't bother responding if the subject matter, or the name of the person posting it, bothers you. Some of the people that complain about too many threads, rarely start a thread themselves for some reason. two threads on one subject are already moderated/merged. So that's not a problem. I like the idea of a regular game week thread, and a game day thread as well.
