  1. Fun fact, Aaron Hargreaves had 1 td in 65 games as a Blue Bomber. Wolitarski has 3 in two games this season.

  4. Context. If someone laughs because a player got hurt, ie: "I'm glad he's hurt", that's wrong. If someone laughs because as a result of an injury, a team now sucks, that's different because it's the team's, not the player's, misfortune that is the issue. And for further context, other than laughing a player's injury, it is always ok to laugh at the Riders, always and all ways. Get with the program.

  5. Collaros and Willy, a sad tale of two promising qbs taking too many shots and being broken husks of what they were a few years ago.

  8. Can't wait for Montreal to have a great game against the riders. Brandon bridge is falling down, falling down falling down, brandon bridge is falling down... and the riders can eat my butt.

  9. Ugh. What a bust that guy was. Man we've had a lot of crap Canadian wide receivers over the last 20 years. I liked Kolhert but I think it was a case of him being the tallest midget. He was a step or two above the garbage we've had over the years. Demski/Wolitarski/Petermann/Simonise?!?! Wowzers! Talk about a 180! From junk to embarrassment of riches!

  10. But then the riders will use the excuse of losing to Montreal with their backup...oh wait that won’t work

  11. Just loved the block that Wolitarsky threw to spring Harris down the sidelines in the 1Q of the Montreal game. He patiently stuck with his block during a slow developing play and then took out both his man and the guy pursuing Harris. (that was the play where Harris straightarmed a guy and Cuthbert got all excited about it, not noticing the double block by #82) kinda wish Petermann had stuck with the #71 he wore in training camp -- that's a good-looking number on a Bomber receiver.

  13. ** JFG had 3 TDs last year too but not 4 as you say I think Stoddard might be the last to have gotten 4 in 2001 which was also his biggest year production wise with like 526 yards on 34 catches. Next closest was probably Cory watson with 3 tds in 2014. fun fact: in 3 years Kito Poblah got 0 TDs with the bombers (tho did get 1 with BC) SOOOO... safe to say between Poblah, Waggonner and Wolitarsky, drew is hands down the best supplemental player we've ever snagged

  24. Both Wolitarsky and Petermann look to be physical receivers who are going to help clear out areas and make more room for the high speed receivers and the RB's, the upgrade of Natl. receiver talent this year looks nothing short of amazing.

Concussions also happen to the aggressor because he leads with his head. At the grassroots level we are trying to rectify that but sometimes the pro level can do a huge in-service to us as our players watch these pro defenders lead with their head to get the kill shot where all they needed to do was rip, wrap and roll.

  28. BO LEVI MITCHELL CGY THIS WEEK: 1 | LAST WEEK: 2 If Bo Levi Mitchell was looking to make a statement in Saturday’s Grey Cup rematch with the Argos, the message was delivered loud and clear. The pinpoint accuracy was impressive, but equally noteworthy is Mitchell’s 10.7 average yards per attempt throughout two games. With a healthy shoulder, No. 19 has reclaimed the top spot in the QB Index over Mike Reilly — for now. MIKE REILLY EDM THIS WEEK: 2 | LAST WEEK: 1 After picking up where he left off a week ago, the reigning MOP encountered some problems against the Ticats over the weekend, completing just 20 of 30 passing attempts for 286 yards, a touchdown and an interception. The Eskimos scored just 21 points against Hamilton, their lowest total since Sept. 30, 2017 vs. Winnipeg. TREVOR HARRIS OTT THIS WEEK: 3 | LAST WEEK: 3 Trevor Harris set aside any fears about his pre-season knee injury, carving up the Riders’ defence to the tune of 345 passing yards. Harris made it look easy against the same defence that gave Ricky Ray fits, with the feared pass rush tandem of Charleston Hughes and Willie Jefferson failing to record a sack. JEREMIAH MASOLI HAM THIS WEEK: 4 | LAST WEEK: 5 With Jeremiah Masoli leading the way, the Ticats have led after seven of eight quarters this season. Most recently it was a wire-to-wire win over the Eskimos, in which Masoli threw for 332 yards and rushed for 59 more to outduel Mike Reilly on the road. You can safely set all Johnny Manziel talk aside for now. RICKY RAY TOR THIS WEEK: 5 | LAST WEEK: 4 It was an eerie moment at BMO Field when Ricky Ray, after suffering an apparent neck injury, had to be taken off the field on a stretcher. The Argos have since said that Ray has movement in all his extremities and is free of concussion-like symptoms, but when Ray returns to the field — if he does decide to continue playing — is in the air. JONATHON JENNINGS BC THIS WEEK: 6 | LAST WEEK: 6 Jonathon Jennings’ solid Week 1 performance looks less impressive after the Alouettes’ defence struggled in Week 2. Still, Jennings has a chance to continue distancing himself from a forgettable 2017 campaign, as he goes head to head with Mike Reilly and the Edmonton Eskimos in a key divisional battle. CHRIS STREVELER WPG THIS WEEK: 7 | LAST WEEK: 9 Chris Streveler is the talk of the CFL after his performance in Week 2, in which he rushed for nearly 100 yards, scored four total touchdowns and completed 22 of 28 attempts in a win over the Montreal Alouettes. Paul LaPolice has made it look easy for the true rookie coming straight out of college and Streveler has taken advantage. JAMES FRANKLIN TOR THIS WEEK: 8 | LAST WEEK: NOT RANKED After a highly-publicized quarterback competition throughout training camp for the backup job, it appears James Franklin is the next man up in Toronto following an injury to Ricky Ray. The Argos are off in Week 3, but Franklin’s first start as an Argo could come against his former team on July 7. ZACH COLLAROS SSK THIS WEEK: 9 | LAST WEEK: 7 After a highly efficient debut, Zach Collaros didn’t have the best night in Week 2 for the Riders, completing just four of 10 passes, throwing two interceptions and eventually leaving the game injured. Collaros’ status for Week 3 is up in the air and so could be the Riders’ quarterback situation. DREW WILLY MTL THIS WEEK: 10 | LAST WEEK: 8 Drew Willy shouldered much of the blame for Montreal’s 56-10 loss to Winnipeg, but the truth is the Als’ quarterback received very little support. The veteran was under siege most of the game while the team failed to establish much of a run game, making Willy an easy target for Winnipeg’s front seven. Willy’s hold on the No. 1 job may be tenuous at this point. BRANDON BRIDGE SSK THIS WEEK: 11 | LAST WEEK: NOT RANKED Brandon Bridge is on the board for the first time in 2018, and could start for the Riders this week following an injury to Zach Collaros. Bridge has often been on the brink of a starting job, but a strong performance vs. Montreal — should he get the opportunity — could open up the door for him to take the starting job on a permanent basis for the first time in his career. Top 4 look right. I'd drop Ray below Streveler and Jennings.

  29. Don't know if anyone was listening to the "Sportscage" on 620 radio out of Regina today but I texted Rod Peterson (I was very polite) and asked if he thought the Bombers would still finish in 5th in west and what did he think of Shreveler? I knew my question would get a rise out of him. After mocking out Bomber fans he said "Absolutely Winnipeg will still finish 5th!" So there you have it...the voice of reason!

  31. You are on to something. The PA gets squat (dues), in theory, from allowing non members to participate. Management is dissatisfied with the results vs monetary cost and time. Very slick on Ambrosie to get a win win agreement.

  32. Listening to Streveler on 1290 this afternoon he made mention of the mini camp being a great introduction for a guy like him who had zero knowledge of the CFL to help him prepare for camp.

  33. Dear Mr. Durant, Thank you for leaving us in the lurch on the eve of training camp and stealing 70K like a thief in the night. Thank you for talking s*** about our team and fans on twitter which surely burnt all bridges and any chance the team would ever want your pathetic green tinted ass in blue & gold. For if you werent such an unprofessional POS we may never have uncovered the golden boy Chris Streveler. May your shadow never darken the earth outside the borders of saskatchewan. Sincerely Bomber fans.

  34. Salary this year won’t be an issue if Streveler keeps this up. I see Nichols being held out for the full 6 games as long as Streveler is winning games. This of coarse will save a load of cap space.
    2 points
  35. To me the best part is that if Nichols gets dinged up later in the season we don't need to put him out there to have a chance. Can let the guy be healthy for the late season/playoffs. Bottom line there is nothing wrong with having 2 qbs on the roster that you can win with.

Streveller is a guy who can get fans to pay attention to the team, and to the league. A very exciting player to watch, A player who gets angry after a dirty hit, and responds not by complaining to the ref, but by throwing a touchdown pass. The very last thing the league needs is to have a fast rising star's career shortened, or worse, finished after two games, by a player "sending a message" The league should send its own message : Suspend Muamba.

I have mostly like what our new commish has done for our game .... but he needs to change how we protect players: In the NHL you still pay for head shots even if it gets by the zebras in the heat of the moment .... I don't think we have equivalency to that in the CFL (correct me if I am wrong) Muamba on Streveler is a perfect example ... should be heavy fine first offense, game suspension 2nd and multiple games after that ... I don't mean accidental contact but who can define that - - -no one is being paid to be a psychiatrist - - actions have to define intent: slipping off your tackle is different than lining some one up I also am aware of the age old rule against one player hitting him and another hitting him low at the same time .... but that is exactly what happened to Ricky Ray last night ... the league has to police the players too and I mean the league - - not the reffs

Football needs to adjust it's culture before society adjusts it for them. The toll of the game is enormous for the participants and the concept of destroying an opponent by using max. force and intimidaton is outdated and is no longer tolerated in any other team sport. The object of tackling is primarily to stop an opponent from advancing the ball, not to try to kill or maim them. Football is a strategic game it needs to emphasis the movement of the ball, the speed and skills of the game more and the big hits less. It can survive if they acknowledge, accept and adjust the rules of the game that need to be made and do not fight against them. If every check thrown in hockey was done to create max. damage to the opponent it would destroy the flow of the game and the skilled players that advance the sport would have very short careers.

  47. And man if the riders lose wont that be fun...reading their fan site would be soooooo entertaining. U never know..that Mtl defense may come in really ticked off with something to prove..they have a lot of talent there and aren't nearly as bad as they showed against us...and Saskatchewan offense isn't close to being as good as ours. If they put heat on whoever the sask qb is ..and they will cause their oline is putrid it could be a long day there. Also think they will lean more on sutton..and he will have a heyday against the weak interior of the sask defence

IMO Muamba's hit to Streveler was intended to send a message and was by definition a cheap shot, but the hit on Ray wasn't. Refs gave Muamba a penalty, which is all they can do. I hope the league also fines him. All that being said, I don't want the refs to given the responsibility of trying to figure out intent in real time. They aren't good enough at their jobs to be given that kind of responsibility. Even with several angles, after the fact, it's hard to impossible to prove intent.

  50. A pathetic thing about the game...watch Strevlers first run...Westerman that piece of **** was trying to twist Strev's knee/ankle on the ground ..Harris and Bryant had to pull him off and you can see Strev say something. Things like that which makes me glad he went to the Montreal circus...no need for losers like that and he was basically owned all night be Bryant and Hardrick...and got 20 yds in penalties..we wont miss his national status one bit..Wally has that more than covered and his 3 TD's and counting are proof of that
