  1. Guys guys guys I think we can all agree at least that we are happy that Greaves isn't playing guard for us anymore.

  2. The OL is doing great, but Neufeld is not an upgrade over Bond. But if he can stay healthy he makes us better due to the ratio benefits.

  5. My bad .. misread that That said, just went back and checked .. also snagged a couple in the Hamilton game. You have to take receiver usage with a grain of salt .. we had a rookie behind centre and a guy who wasn't projected to be our starter, he's going to spread it around a bit differently than Nichols would. That said, I'm thrilled that no single receiver is dominating targets. Make the offense that much harder to defend.

  6. You're not wrong.. but gotta remember the offensive line is going to only be as good as its weakest link... Bond (and now Paddy) have 2 of the better linemen in the league imo flanking them on our oline.

  7. A year or two of Strev backing up Nichols and coming in and out of the game is exactly what he needs! This kid has talent and drive and something we havent seen in a back up QB in winnipeg in a long long time. Please do what ever it takes to keep him around Miller and Walters!

  9. I voted "No" as I believe this is Osh's decision. A board and senior management should not micro manage a head coach. GM and the board get involved in selection of the HC, but they should leave the assistant coaching decisions for the HC to make. I have great confidence in Osh and believe he will take us to the promised land.

  11. Nichols has a deal were he feeds the hogs anytime they keep him clean, it happened at least 2 or 3 times last season.

  12. IIRC, he kicked Thomas Miles #52. That's the sort of thing that the CFL should review after the game and apply supplemental discipline to. It ought to have been called during the game, but it is possible that no official saw it. If an official saw it and didn't throw a flag, then that official should be called to account. A deliberate kick like that should lead to an ejection.

  13. It’s just that nothing else has changed and the offensive line appears to be more dominant than past year and Bond couldn’t open up a hole for CJ if his life depended on it. This after getting cut from a weak offensive line in Regina.

  14. I’m curious if there are still people out there who think that Pat Neufeld is s major downgrade from Travis Bond? I share people’s concern over potential injury problems for Patty but I’m not convinced he isn’t an upgrade over Bond when healthy.

  15. I sure hope so. With the Lions and Riders missing out in the West.

  16. Not to take anything away from our D because they played a great game, but Jennings missed a lot of easy throws and was flat out terrible. It's easy to look good when you're playing QB's as bad as Jennings or Willy. We need to have a game like this against Reilly, BLM or even Trevor Harris.

  18. Braley lets Wally call the shots career wise. As in he has a job for life. Does anyone really think Hervey calls the shots? There is no way.

  19. I think Streveler either ends up our starting QB or gets an NFL shot.
    1 point
  20. Yup for sure. As a tackle he is a complete liability, as a guard it's fine.

  21. Ha - it’s time to knock out the BS, we could end up with a dirty pocket

  22. That's where my thoughts went too. I was willing to give him a few games to settle in. But damn...it's been what 3 out of 4 without a catch now.
    1 point
  23. Are we sure it's the Lions we want out? I think I might rather have Reilly and the Esks sitting at home.
    1 point
  24. I think one of Neufeld's problems (at times) is his being miscast as a Tackle. Sure, he has the versatility to do it in a pinch but he's much better inside where he's not on an island.
    1 point
  25. It's was right in front of where I sit and an official was standing RIGHT there watching it all unfold. He may have missed it but it was damned obvious. What pissed me off was we got called for a REALLY weak penalty almost immediately after. Player deliberately kicks an opponent they let that slide but then dole out one of the weakest roughing penalties the following play? Come on man.
    1 point
  26. Yep it was Miles. IIRC, O'Shea can submit the video to the league's Safety & Discipline dept for possible discipline to Rainey. It would be good for us if he get suspended - minus one of their weapon and ST threat.

I'd much rather see Bobby Lashley vs Brock Lesnar in UFC. Now that would be an interesting fight (aside from Lashley having zero chance of passing a drug test). They could also have CM Punk vs Ronda Rousey as a co main event... I'm pretty sure Rousey would win in under a minute.

  28. This is one thing I knew we could be confident Lapo would do is throw in a few fake QB sneaks with options for Streve to throw. LeFevour always ruined them when he didn't run because he had the worst noodle arm of any QB I've ever seen. Streveler has the gun.

Jon Jones will be lucky to fight in 5 years... Daniel Cormier might of had the most tragic and hardest life and has overcame absolutely everything. He is a legit Olympic wrestler and is light years better then anyone else he's ever fought in MMA when it comes to his wrestling. Only Jon Jones has ever bested him... aside from that he's dominated everyone. I understand why they are doing the fight but it's a shame that the heavyweight belt has lost any prestige that it had.

  31. Half assing it from the looks of things. The way he gave up on that play in the endzone was disgusting, judging by his reaction Matt Nichols thought so too.

  32. It does make me wonder once again how a talented athlete like Jennings who shone for two seasons could look so bad now. Oh well, if I knew that, I could write a book and make a lot of money.

  33. it looked like he actually tried to kick him in the head and then gave him a real good kick on the arm

  34. Hate to 'nit-pic' after a nice win like that BUT....How the hell can the refs not call a penalty on that obvious bloody kick by Rainey on one of our down field tacklers AND then call a wimpy sad sack b.s. call on us the very next play...Rainy tried to bury his cleats into one of our players bare arm and the refs blow it off...That kind of bull$hit has to be called...

  36. Lulay has spent the majority of the last 3 years in rehab, much to my amazement he keeps coming back but I don't think he'll ever be near 100% again.
    1 point
  37. Well done sir lol
    1 point
  38. I’m sure if Lulay was 100% healthy he’d be playing already. I think he needs a couple more weeks before BC throws him in there behind that atrocious O-line.
    1 point
  39. I'm not too worried about Lulay. With all his injuries, I wonder if he will stay on the pocket more instead of do more scrambling. For sure he will want to stay healthy for the rest of the season. Another exit with injury will definitely end his career.

  41. Didn't see the game. My son got married & I was busy. But I checked the score on my phone as the evening progressed. Amazing the confidence a veteran qb in Nichols brings to the Bombers. Streveler will be so much better with the experience he gained the first 3 games. Hopefully Nichols can go forward & keep playing well.
    1 point
  42. This is the truth. In particular, there were 2 big explosion plays that BC missed where the BC receiver was wide open, both of which would have resulted in Lions TDs. Bombers were also still soft in some pass coverage, although that is to be expected somewhat with the lead, and Jennings was not accurate enough for it to matter much. It was a much better game for the Bomber D, and the turnovers and good pressure up front sure helped, but many of the old tendencies are still there.
    1 point
  43. Jennings was horrible but the pressure from the d line sure didn’t help his accuracy and his overall performance
    1 point
  44. I'm surprised this thread is so quiet? A big win by the Blue and I thought the o-line looked fantastic and the d-line as well had their way all night. The only negative I have from watching the game is the onside kick and cheap shot at the very end. What was the point of Wally calling for the onside kick and the guy who took the cheap shot I would hope gets suspended. That was as intentional as could be.
