Just finished watching the game. As Hall of Fame coach Bill Parcells said: "You are what your record says you are.", and without a doubt the Bombers are the worst team in the CFL west. How a team looks on paper is truly irrelevant.

You know why. They expected to win last game and lost because of our defense. Made little or no changes because they thought we got lucky. We shut them down again. It was a trap game for them but they weren't smart enough to see it.

  5. Watching this garbage sask team smacking hamilton in the mouth is so disheartening. This same hamilton team beat the **** out of us. I am so ****ing tired of the bombers underachieving year after year after year. On paper the bombers should be a contender but west basement it is. I just cant shake that brutal loss last week. The way we lost it too. One foot here, dumb playcall there, brutal pass here, missed tackle there. Just so ****ing typical. That kind of loss can break a teams back. Its certainly broken my spirit. So sick of this Jekyll and Hyde bullshit. I swear its like were cursed.

  6. Every other quarter. The inconsistency is a huge problem. He finally solved the redzone issue by trusting Harris, but not much else has changed. He does less with more, this an expensive offense and they should be dominant.

  7. I have all kinds of patience for LaPo. I have run out of patience on Hall who has not shown he is capable of building a championship defense. He should have been fired right after the West Semi Final last November.

  11. Is sure hope this game has Walters and company looking in the mirror. Scheme scheme scheme. An inferior Sask team ***** slaps hamilton all over the field in enemy territory yet this same hamilton team ***** slapped us and we had ZERO answer on offense or defense. None whatsoever.

  18. If lapo would quit trying to out fox the other team he'd be a lot better. He needs to get out of his own way at times and rather than trying to adjust before the other team stops you adjust after they actually stop it. A lot of times he does the opposing dcoordinator a favour.

We need the Redbacks to recover from last week's rough one in a big hurry. Sure hope Harris hasn't started having Stampeder vision because last thing we need is Lulay and BC gaining momentum. Get er done Redbacks.

  20. Mostly he just needs to take what he wants to call and do the opposite some of the time. That and live and die with his best players. A well-designed run play for Harris on 1st down is never a wrong call. Harris didn't have a meaningful touch after the game was 17-10. That's just crazy.

  24. ...I was referring to 2002 when Lapo was the OC here as well, and Khari was the quarterback, hence why I also mentioned Charles Roberts and Milt Stegall - not Khari's success, or lack there of as a playcaller. Thought that was obvious. Lapo is a guy that would rather give a carry to Andre Sadeghian with the game on the line (and he did for the folks that remember that name - and failed miserably) than give a guy more than 13 carries with a YPC over 10 in a game that you led all the way until the final moments of the fourth quarter

  25. Khari is struggling & Bellefeuille was just awful. LaPo is head & shoulders above those 2. Maybe KJ would do better if he had a legit qb to work with but he signed on in Montreal as the OC knowing they had nothing at qb so he knew what he was in for.

  26. All coaches get fired whether as a HC or part of a staff that is let go. Being fired is part of the business. I'd still take LaPo over many other OC's. Except Dave Dickenson & even he has made some whopper of mistakes while being acknowledged as being one of the brightest in football. LaPo has done very well & has had a lot of success at the OC level. Does he make mistakes? Sure but every coach does like Dickenson's goal line call in the 2016 GC with Andrew Buckley. **** happens even to the best of them. As bad as some of the short yardage LaPo play calls were last Saturday against BC nothing compares to that incredibly stupid onside punt last night that June Jones called when the Ti Cats were leading & had the Riders on the ropes. His response as to why they used it? Hey, it worked all 4 times they tried it in practice. So why not? Jones got greedy. Instead of kicking it deep to the Rider offense & let his defense take care of business, Jones wanted to recover the punt. Jones got tricky. So tricky that he tricked himself. I've seen major blow outs on playcalling & it happens to everyone. LaPolice is the best OC we've had.... since he was the OC with us last time. He & Nichols work well together but nights like last Saturday are going to happen occasionally.

  27. Seriously? He's been hired as many times as he has for a reason too.

  28. He's been fired as many times as he has in his career for a reason. Is he the best in the league when it comes to creativity? Yeah probably. Does he call plays effectively based on the game situation? 50/50 at best.

Got to admit, the Riders may be a lot better than we thought. Heck their defense even makes Sam Hurl look acceptable. As much as I hate to say it at the moment the weakest team in the West lives in the Peg. If the Bombers can not at least split with the Argos I think we are in for a very long season. Hats off to the Riders they laid a smack-down on the Cats!

  40. 2 big games (one of them a big half), 1 average game, 2 terrible games offensively. One big game and one terrible game per QB. Not good for consistently winning games. Can't go quarters at a time without gaining a first down or scoring points. This is a case where stats are for losers.

  42. If we can't compare P&M to other city's intersections, shouldn't we also avoid comparing rush hour travel times. I'm sure any of our out-of-province posters could remind those who aren't familiar about travelling in Cgy, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. Part of Winnipeg's car culture problem is 1) we really, really like to drive and relating to that 2) our transit blows and is a major headache for people. But I think we all *should* be able to agree that a 30-40 mins drive home (for example) isn't that bad comparatively. One reason that people are presenting as a benefit for opening is accessibility. The walking detour down the street, down flights of stairs, up the other side etc isn't possible for every person (disabilities). Whereas everyone can, as a matter of fact, spend an minute extra at a light. They may hate it, it may be awful for the city, maybe's possibly's and what if's - - I completely acknowledge. Will opening P&M in and of itself revitalize Winnipeg? Of course, not. Did the building of MTS Centre? How 'bout the NHL's return? Artis Reit's 300 Main announcement? That's another thing we do a lot of here.... I don't see how "A" benefits "B" so let's cancel A before we spell the rest of the alphabet. I, too, have no skin in the game, other than a love for the city I was born and raised in. My strongest opinion on the whole topic is just that the debate being THIS heated is so, so Winnipeg.... the world's biggest small town.

  44. Love the "we just have to get used to it" statements in that article. we know what happens when you don't have air conditioning, when it gets hot, and your old, young, or have health problems. you die. forget air conditioning, there are literally billions of people who on a good day, don't have enough to eat, no clean water, no medicine, and no healthcare; there are going to be deaths in the millions caused by this. not to mention climate wars, ethnic conflict and collapse, as people figure out who to blame. all of those things predicted by the Pentagon, years ago.
