  1. This is exactly it... people who don't like the U of M location suddenly forget the traffic jams and waiting it took to get out of Canad Inns...

  6. I am a fan. Despite my busy and fulfilling lifestyle I still attend 3 games a year. You're a notoriously douchey and argumentative Albertan slinging mud from a woefully overburdened desk chair as if anyone other than Noeller cares what you think. Enjoy your seat at McMahon

    Tiger Cats @ Larks

Game Day Notes - CFL.ca Hamilton @ Montreal - Alouettes vs Ti-Cats: Hamilton has won 5 of the last 6 games vs Montréal including a two-game sweep last year. In the last 7 years (2011-2017), Montréal has won the season series over Hamilton just ONCE (2015). Hamilton is 12-8 vs the Als since 2011. - Jeremiah Masoli: As a starter in 2018 Masoli is 2-4 but in his career his winning % is .480 at 12-13. Against Montreal he is a perfect 3-0 in his career and he brings a much better road record (9-5) into Montreal than in starts at home (3-8). He has thrown for 300+ yards in 10 of his last 11 games and set a 9-game 300+ streak CFL record earlier on. He went over the 8,000 yard mark last week. - Johnny Manziel: Last threw a pass competitively on December 27, 2015 in a 17-13 loss (start) to Kansas City (other than 2018 Spring League). His career stats in the NFL cover 14 games and 8 starts (2-6): 147-for-258 57.0% for 1,675 yards with 7 Ints and 7 TD passes. His longest career completion was for 61 yards to Travis Benajmin on November 15, 2015. He has logged 6 career CFL games but has yet to see the field (CFL rules for Games Played differ from the NFL). - QBs since August 2013: Since Anthony Calvillo's last start (Aug 17/13) here are the starting QB totals by team (incl. this week) MTL 14 - Neiswander, Marsh, T.Smith, Brink, Crompton, Cato, Glenn, Bridge, Adams, Durant, Willy, Shiltz, Mathews & Manziel SSK 11 - Durant, Willy, Sunseri, Doege, Joseph, Glenn, B.Smith, Price, Gale, Bridge & Collaros WPG 9 - Hall, Goltz, Willy, Brohm, Marve, Nichols, D.Davis, Lefevour, Streveler TOR 8 - Ray, Collaros, T.Harris, Kilgore, Lefevour, Willy, Mathews, Franklin & Bethel-Thompson HAM 6 - Burris, Collaros, Masoli, Lefevour, Mathews, J.Harris BC 6 - Lulay, Demarco, Pierce, Glenn, Beck, Jennings OTT 5 - Burris, T.Harris, Jensen, Tate, Lindley CGY 4 - Glenn, Mitchell, Tate, Buckley EDM 3 - Reilly, Nichols, Franklin CFL (62) 4 weeks, 4 QBs- a first since 1999: With Johnny Manziel to start at QB, that means that the Als will start a different QB in 4 consecutive games. The last time that any CFL club had 4 different QB starters in a 4-game span was 19 years ago - Edmonton started N.Greene, D.Crowley, M.Crandell & K.Mason across Oct 11-30/99. Across 60 CFL years this 4 in 4 has occurred just 6 times. - 1-16 in the last 17 games / 8 in a row at home: The Alouettes have won just once in their last 17 games - the poorest 17-game stretch in their history. They come into this week having lost their last 8 home games - the longest home losing streak in Montreal history and back to 1958 matches the 4th-longest ever home losing streak Hamilton 1st half vs 2nd half: The Ti-Cats have dominated the 1st half this year and have outscored opponents by 80-52 (+28). In the 2nd half however they have a scoring margin of -33. This is especially in the 4th Quarter where the points count is 23-54 and they have lost five of their six 4th Quarters. - Jalen Saunders: Has played 22 career CFL games and is up to 1,706 yards and 111 receptions. He has been extraordinarily consistent with at least 50 yards in 16 of his 22 games. His 2018 pace is to exceed the 1600-yard mark and reach 105 catches. - Masoli INTs: Jeremiah Masoli has thrown one interception in each game thus far and leads the CFL with 6 in total. These 6 picks have led to 21 opponent points in 2018. - 24:50 TOP: Over their last 5 games, Montreal's average Time of Possession has been just 24:50 versus their opponents' 35:10 - gap of over 10:00 of play. Over that 5-game run, opponents have averaged 17 more plays from scrimmage per game (64 to 47 per game). - Simoni Lawrence last 4 games: Lawrence has been Hamilton's leading tackler in 3 of their last 4 games with 27 in total. - Henoc Muamba: Leads the CFL with 7 Tackles for Loss thus far, well ahead of the pace to break his own CFL record of 13 (2013). - Ernest Jackson: Over his last 3 games he has just 3 catches for 17 yards on 13 targets. - Tyrell Sutton: Last week posted his 2nd-highest receiving total ever with 82 yards on 4 catches (career max? 90 yards Aug 22/14). ___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Anyone who thinks they get to decide who a real fan is and isn't... based solely on how many home games they attend... all other factors be damned... ought to give their swollen head a shake. One day I was gifted 10 free tickets by Wade Miller himself simply because I look like a walking Bombers billboard every game day. I spend hours upon hours reading CFL news and lurking on fan forums. I nearly cried when Dinwiddie threw that pick and I probably will cry when we finally hoist the cup. I'm a fan and I'd challenge anyone to say to my face that I'm not - just because I buy flex packs instead of ST's. Also if fans can only show support by spending money then I hope all these sanctimonious out of towners are buying the equivalent $ amount in merchandise, or recognize themselves as massive hypocrites.

I travel 70miles each way. I get home at 12:30 from a 7:30 game.....70 miles away. One guy says he gets home at 12:30 in the city?? You are driving in circles than. I like parking at the value lot. 10 bucks, 5min shuttle ride to the tailgate area. I love Bomber Game Days! I love going to the games it is the highlight of the week for me on home game weeks!

  11. Well, on bye weeks, we might not be able to have a Bomber win, but a Rider loss is the best thing . I also was happy that the Riders managed to make a game out of it because, as much as a complete beat down is fun to watch, that game will give the flatbillies just a little bit of hope and that means that the Jones dumpster fire will keep on keeping on!

  12. Living out of town and having a cabin are cop out excuses. I live out of town and have a cabin yet all 4 of us attend every home game. We take the park and ride as well. If you want to attend the games you make it happen.

  13. If you're still having troubles I strongly suggest you reevaluate you method of transportation because I can drive all the way down pembina to university crescent with very little difficulty. sounds like you just live in St. James and are salty you can't just walk to games anymore.

  14. Edmonton annoys me. Lobbing up 50-50 balls and having their receivers win the battle seems to be their go to strategy in close games. Maas is my least favourite HC in the league. No wonder his team is undisciplined when he can't keep it together either.

When I lived in Wpg & has ST's I had to leave 90 mins before every home game which made it very challenging getting home after work, changing & having a quick bite to eat. . I lived in Riverview & had to drive thru congested traffic starting at Kenaston & Grant Avenue & inching all the way to Canad Inns. I never gave it a second thought. It was just the way it was. I wanted to go to the games so I endured it without complaint although it was stressful. Never missed a game in 26 seasons. Back in the 70's & 80's weekday evening home games started at 8 pm & most people were happy to have the time to get to the games after work. Today, games start at 6:30 or 7pm & it would be a challenge to get to games after work with such early starts.

  18. Literally I don’t have to wait on drive in and leaving may have to be in line for five max ten minutes to get out of lot. Once out of lot it’s normal traffic.

Duron is so good for that team.. From that article.. Duron Carter, meanwhile, tweeted he was sick and tired of being sick and tired and has so much more to give. Then to the media, said he and Naaman Roosevelt watched most of the game as the footballs were being thrown elsewhere.

  23. The "real fan" argument is very lame. It happens everywhere though. You're not a real Jets fan if you dont go to every game. You're not a real Star Trek fan if you dont hate DIscovery. yadda yadda. Ive never had Bombers' season tickets. I go to a few games per year. My buddy is corporate sponsor and has a loge box. We're both fans. When I dont go, I watch every game on TV even if I have to watch it on delay and I avoid all social media/radio so I watch it like its live. We're here talking about them...we're all fans.

  24. What I love about IGF, living in Waverly Heights, is we can leave literally, 15 minutes before kick off, park right at the stadium and waltz in. When we went to CIS, you knew to leave at least an hour+ beforehand because traffic was a nightmare...and then you had to find parking (this was better once the Arena was torn down and you could park there). We'd often park over by the Chapters (sometimes having a drink in one of the lounges beforehand so we were allowed to park there) and walk and it wasnt much closer, if at all, than parking on Pembina and walking to IGF. And we did that in the cold cold weather too. We did that in the rain. And let me tell you, cold and rain was a lot more uncomfortable in CIS than it is in IGF.

  25. For a second I thought with all this whining about location of the stadium, that this was the Argos site, then I remembered that if it was, it would just be Bluto arguing with himself.

MBT put up a pretty nice stat line... I guess Ott went into garbage time a little too early.... Also, we no longer have the most embarrassing lead give away of the season... so there's that too...

  28. The location is never going to be perfect for everyone. We just need to accept that. The Polo Park location was farther for me. Giving myself extra time to and from the game was an accepted reality. IGF is much closer to me now, but I know many others whose drive/trip has now been extended. There are always going to be a ton of people unhappy with wherever you build it. There are a ton of options to get to and from the stadium as well. Also the game day experience has been improved immensely over the years, particularly since Wade Miller has been in charge IMO. They make better use of the JumboTrons (they provide stats now) and they are better at showing more replays. They seem to really focus on creating a fun experience too.

  29. How is this still a topic? The Stadium is where it is. Like where it is or not, it isn't going to move for 30+ years.

  30. Lots sand lots of complaining here. Wow. Seems like each of you has problems with: - Location of Stadium - Team Sucks - Cost of Tickets - Cost of Beer - Too late - Too early - Cost of Beer - Cost of Food - "It doesn't suit me today" Winnipeg has always been a finicky City with a touch of residents being cheap. Not much has changed from what I see. I've been a season ticket holder since 2011 and usually only miss one game of year due to either work commitments or an early vacation. Did I mention I live in Brandon? You know, the City 200 kms to the west of the Perimiter? Yes, there were huge transit issues the first couple of game, but we still made it there and back. There was also tons of construction on Pembina and the Perimiter that was needed The Bombers have pushed many transit, bike and parking options for all fans. The park and ride from Hydro works great for me. If it wasn't for picking up family members in the City, I'd likely use the same service from the Downs. Pay on the way in, free on the way out. The bus connections on the north side of the stadium have really freed up congestion on the south side of the stadium. Comparing access with that of Hamilton, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton and Saskatchewan, it's not all that bad (Sorry Ottawa and Vancouver, but I haven't visitied you yet). I've been to Blue Jays (parking), KC Royals (middle of nowhere in City, paid parking, great tailgates though), Minnesota Twins (parking cost) / Wild (turkey trail of tunnels/walkways from train to arena), Flames (parking), Oilers (parking), Miami Dolphins (any transit sucks), and New Orleans Saints (parking downtown) games. All have their challenges/costs for parking, transit, and access.

  31. They are but there is only one way into the Canada Packers site in St. Boniface and traffic would have been a nightmare. Not many ways into the Point Douglas site either and to be honest, I think some people would have been turned off by Point Douglas.

  37. There are some better routes now that make it a pretty good ride and avoids pretty much all the construction, and you only go down Pembina from Chevier to Plaza. The two spots I couldn't quite get right on this map are going right by the Transit Yards instead of down Brandon, and the area crossing Jubliee. https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/South+Point+Park,+Winnipeg,+MB/Investor's+Group+Field,+Chancellor+Matheson+Road,+Winnipeg,+MB/@49.8216666,-97.1501669,14.25z/data=!4m34!4m33!1m25!1m1!1s0x52ea714da82faf93:0x54f10f65fb904941!2m2!1d-97.130377!2d49.8847997!3m4!1m2!1d-97.1425406!2d49.8651357!3s0x52ea741e0ce3d831:0xf95a41a2286fd7cf!3m4!1m2!1d-97.1484812!2d49.8541416!3s0x52ea74247b1e9cfd:0xe141f86798b69ac6!3m4!1m2!1d-97.1476832!2d49.822527!3s0x52ea75c3c78270c9:0x8f42ff1a4a3aa7f7!3m4!1m2!1d-97.1402682!2d49.8117905!3s0x52ea75e5821e87d7:0xf1a770a2a567d821!1m5!1m1!1s0x52ea7377de57b1bb:0x90cef9b21669335b!2m2!1d-97.14305!2d49.80786!3e1 Edit: Credit goes to Andres for showing me most of this route when he posted this video:

I'm certainly no Hurl apologist... but appears they are used in completely different ways,,, Hurl was given an "assignment" that seemed to attempt to hide or mask his inadequacies... where as Bighill seems to be given free range to do what he feels is best (for the most part)... the difference is Bighill can do it and is great at it... Hurl.... well.... not so much...

  50. Harris.... what a player. got the ultimate compliment from O'Shea the other day: the Bombers are getting a lot of awards this season. All hard earned and well deserved. Jovon, is having so much on field fun playing this season........ so great to see a guy play with such verve. It reminds me of the good ole days of West, Battle and Jones. going to have to open up the piggy bank to extend Bighill.
