  2. There's some good stuff coming out on Twitter today: They did this last game too. 👍

  3. I don't quite see it this way. Ottawa has a great short passing attack and given the Bombers DB's play off and soft I think Harris will have a 300-400 yard game. I believe that Nichols will bounce back and have a good game but not sure if that will be enough. I am projecting a close game decided in the 4th quarter.

  4. And on a positive note...with Lankford in the lineup...if anything goes wrong in the game, even with the defense, it affords many on here a target on whom to place the blame. 😀

  5. Why would Hervey do that? You don’t think Jones burned a few bridges with Hervey with everything that happened when Jones left Edmonton.

  7. I'm more interested to see what kind of game Lapolice calls. I'm still a bit puzzled by what most seem to say was his being uberaggressive with the deep balls last week. And crazy too when the complaint is usually that he calls too many check down 7 yard passes when it's 2nd and 10. Gonna be interesting to hear what his usual detractors go off about tonight.

  8. that again in itself...Rider fans are the sole proprietors of this notion that they are the crown jewel of the league and that teams/players/management/fans envy them...which is just blatantly false...as someone with connections to...and in the league...I can honestly say that is untrue...and in a lot of instances players don't really want to go there because Regina is the least desirable city in the league to play in...

  9. I guess Andrew Harris doing the same thing last game is also unforgivable. I know the Bombers are having a good season when this stuff is the debate rather than when to pin the tail on the coach.

  11. This is the last I will say about the other site on here, I was told I was banned because some others were agitated. I asked what I said that agitated them, they would not say. Anything else you want to know about just pm me. I am not a troll. I would say the same things if we were sitting together having a beer. Mostly for a laugh....all in fun. Go Bombers !

    Ottawa @ Winnipeg

Game Notes - CFL.ca 👁‍🗨 1-2 combo: 9/21: The Bombers have allowed just nine sacks, fewest in the CFL, and have 21 quarterback sacks – most in the league. Bombers vs REDBLACKS: Ottawa has won once in Winnipeg since joining the CFL in 2014 but overall are 4-4 vs the Bombers despite losses in their last three meetings. Matt Nichols has started the last 6 games for Winnipeg vs Ottawa and is 3-3. A key statistic from last year's season series was the Bombers' 5-1 advantage in the Turnover battle which aided their sweep. 👁‍🗨An amazing stat - +16 point leads in 5 games in a row: The Bombers have built at least a 16-point lead in each of their last 5 games - that is just one short of the club record of 6 straight set in 1981 (Sep 27/81-Nov 1/81: leads of +36, +24, +31, +32, +20, +38). The CFL record is games in a row with a lead of 16 points Trevor Harris: Last week, Harris completed 44-of-54 passes and was just one completion short of the CFL record of 45 set by Henry Burris on Oct 1/15 (45/53). Harris' 54 attempts were the most ever thrown in Ottawa history, and in the 4th Quarter alone last week, Harris went 12-of-15 for 128 yards in leading his 11th career Q4 Game-winning drive. - Fastest to 60 Receptions: This year Brad Sinopoli has a CFL-leading 60 catches in his first 8 games. - 40 wins for O'Shea: Last week's win over Hamilton was the 40th of his regular season career. Mike can move up to #5 all-time in Blue Bombers history with a win this week and move ahead of Mike Riley - he can be as high as #4 by season's end with a 5-5 finish. 1st Down Rushing Avg: Despite having the CFL's #2 rusher in William Powell, the REDBLACKS have averaged the lowest number of yards on 1st down rushing plays. They have gained just 4.8 yards per 1st down rush and that ranks #9 overall. By contrast, Winnipeg is tied with Montreal for #1 in the CFL at 6.2 yards per 1st down rush. Since 2015, Ottawa has the most wins vs Western clubs of any East Division team with 15. - Lewis Ward 96%: Ward began his career with a 3-for-4 FG performance in the season opener and since then has not missed a kick of any kind. Ward is now 25-for-26 96.2% with a streak of 22 makes in a row, the longest streak ever made by a 1st Year player. 👁‍🗨Not too bad for an undrafted player.. - Greg Ellingson: Had a huge bounce-back game last week with 11 catches for 110 yards, his first 100-yard game since Game #1. His 11-catch total compared to just 12 in his previous 4 games, the lowest 4-game total he had had since m id-2016. - Ottawa's 4th Q Game-winning drive: The REDBLACKS' 4th Quarter GW drive last week was their 5th across the 2017-18 seasons. That ranks #3 in the CFL over this two-year span: #1 Edmonton 8, #2 Toronto 7, #3 Ottawa 5. Their game-winning TD last week came with 0:15 to play after a 7-play, 69 yard march in 2:06. - Ottawa’s Brad Sinopoli already has 60 receptions through eight games. He is one of only three players in CFL history to have accomplished that feat, joining Derrell Mitchell (64 catches in seven games in 1998, en route to a league-record 160) and Allen Pitts (62 catches in eight games, finishing with 118). CFL Game #44 Team Trends – Ottawa at Winnipeg: - Andrew Harris 6,988: Needs the following rushing yard totals this week to achieve a variety of accomplishments: - 7 yards to pass Earl Lunsford (6,994) for #14 all-time - 12 yards to become the 14th player to reach 7,000 for his career - 20 yards to pass **** Shatto (7,007 corrected career total) for #13 all-time - 73 yards to pass Jim Evenson (7,060) for #12 all-time - Bombers East & West: The Bombers are 1-2 vs Western rivals but a solid 4-1 vs the East. They are 16-5 vs the East since 2016. - 17-2, 23-4: Over the last 3 years (2016-18), Winnipeg is 17-2 when they lead after the 1st Quarter and 23-4 with a half-time lead. - Deep TD throws: The Bombers have given up a CFL-low 2 TD passes on 20+ yard throws; Ottawa has allowed a league-high of 8. - 2-Pt Convert comparison: The Bombers have attempted a CFL-low 1 two-point convert; Ottawa has tried a league-high of 9. - 1st Half vs 2nd Half: The Bombers have a +96 scoring margin in the 1st half thus far; but ... they are just +1 in 2nd halves. - 1st Half vs 2nd Half II: Ottawa also is 1st Half strong at +20 in the first 30:00 and ... are -5 in 2nd halves. Random CFL Notes and streaks: - Most QB Starters Single Season: Montreal has used 4 different QB starters this year and with Johnny Manziel questionable for Week #10 may lead to Antonio Pipkin or Matthew Shiltz being #5 for them. The CFL record is 6 different starters by Winnipeg in 1983 (Dieter Brock, Tom Clements, Norman Gibbs, Nickie Hall, John Hufnagel and Mark Jackson). - Calgary +17 T/O Ratio: The Stamps are at +17 for their 2018 Turnover advantage - that +17 mark after 7 games is on pace for +44 which would break the CFL record set by Edmonton in 1981 at +41. Calgary's club record is +27 set in 1996. - McLeod Bethel-Thompson: Led the Argos to a 42-41 victory over Ottawa. Here are a few superlatives from that game 1) From 24 down I: The Argo comeback matched the 8th-largest in CFL history, just 3 points short of the CFL record from 27 points. 2) From 24 down II: 2nd-largest in Argos' history, one point less than their 25-point recovery of Oct 2/94 (11-36 to HAM, won 39-36). 3) Half-time deficit: They trailed by 21 at half-time and won matching the 3rd-largest in CFL history after 30:00 of play. 4) 4 TD pass debut: One of six players with 4 TD passes in their 1st career start. CFL record: An incredible 8 TDs by Joe Zuger 1962) (Ricky Ray 2002, Matt Dunigan 1984, Condredge Holloway 1975, and Ron Reeves 1983 also had 4 TD debuts) 5) 2nd Half Passing: Bethel-Thompson passed for 233 yards and 4 TDs in the 2nd half alone. 6) Q4 game-winning drive: Drove 86 yards on 11 plays in 1:44 going 5-of-7 for 60 yards with completions to four different receivers. - Calgary +14: Stamps tied a CFL record at 7 games in a row with at least a 14-pt lead matching the 1982 Bombers and 2011 Lions. – Bombers safety Taylor Loffler on the evolving defence: We’re doing a lot of different things, changing the looks up, which is nice, from the previous years. Our defence is able to do that and it’s made a big👁‍🗨(hill) difference out there. It gives the offence we’re playng against different looks and they can’t know exactly what we’re going to do every time. We’ve definitely come a long ways and we definitely still have a long ways to go. But it’s really looking up right now and we just need to keep going from here. We had a little bit of a rocky path there to start… we’d have a good game and then have a bad game, but we’ve been a lot more consistent over the last month and just keep steadily improving. We can’t take a step back. We have to keep going on an upward path.”

  13. I think people are over reacting on how bad Lankford is. He's a decent returner and as a receiver he isn't the worse we have seen in the O Shea era.

  17. Yeah but if you have a Management team that is portrayed us unloyal and borders on unethical..as well as treats players like crap...well you get what is going on in Regina at the moment...there is a time to be Mr Nice Guy Manager...as well as Mr Not so nice...and Mr Jones has no grasp of the happy medium..

  18. never said that and Hughes had no say in the matter...if he wanted to play for Jones he would have signed there when Jones first arrived...but no he re-uppped in CGY...players are always going to say that when there...also...I know Jefferson fielded offers from several teams..so it wasn't straight back my friend...But Jones payed more than what anyone thought to be worth while so yeah...he is there loving Jones...But if you truly think players don't haven't noticed how he has done certain things there (on the management side of things) and it has..and will have an effect moving forward...well then I don't know what to say..

  20. As Sask HC, he is presently 18-25. Your definition of "good coach" is rather generous. He can be called a good HC when he's given a solid roster to work with, but therein lies the problem. As a GM he is anything but "good". To demote him would mean a complete re-doing of his contract and a huge loss of salary, not to mention, reputation. That's not going to happen. By the way, I'm not sure where you're getting this "no one wants to play them" stuff. they're 3-4 right now. Sure in the East they'd be a powerhouse, but then again, the Winnipeg Rifles would probably do ok too. And I too think that they have a chance of beating Calgary. Assuming of course that this is the day that the Stampeders are doing a "anyone in the stands who always wanted to play for the Stamps, come on down, put on pads and get in there" day. If they do that, Saskatchewan will probably win. It'll be close, but they'll probably pull it off.

  21. which really doesn't mean anything i this argument, or discussion...it's more so how the team and the organization has progressed as a whole under each's direction..and the culture and atmosphere being developed...and you have to have a head buried way deep in the sand and be oblivious to common sense and league wide perception as to which organization is in a better spot..and looked at with more envy

  23. this is closer to what i see ... if we creep up and play tight or man-to-man we may get burned when a receiver breaks a tackle or bounces off a defender for a huge gain

  24. I watched a bit of RIng of Honor on TV a few months back. I was impressed by the stage set up and the crowd - big screen where the wrestlers come out, good lighting and the crowd appeared to be a sellout. Several thousand by the looks of it. I'm not sure as to the location of the show though. I guess it's the number 2 wrestling promotion in North America now surpassing TNA? Anyone know how long Kenny Omega is signed to New japan? Earlier this year I seem to recall rumors of him fulfilling his contract and then either making the move to WWE or remaining in Japan.

They will outplay Ottawa in every way. not sure, are there two gdthreads? edit, just heard on hodge podcast that the ticats got close to zero yards on punt returns in total, last game.

  33. I am a big Higgins fan. The guy is first class all the way. I posted supportive posts on here for O'Shea when everyone wanted him gone. Not sure he can push it over the top with Hall by his side. Does MOS have the stones to make a move to go for the cup before Plop gets stolen to coach elsewhere? Harris is the heart and soul and he isn't getting any younger, he is in this year or next year country. awesome suspense and can't wait to see how it works out. Obviously I want us to win the cup, but I have been a big bombers supporter for a long time. Be nice to bring one home. Not a Nichols fan, doesn't mean I don't pull for the bombers.

  36. To me the offense is still going to lean on Harris and demski and Adam's and thompkins will have to step up with dressler out. Lankford is just another guy on the offense. Don't **** up and maybe make a few plays and it's fine.

  37. I'm not sure if I can slot Lankford in with the rest of those guys. They were regular every down players. What they displayed showed us their abilities??. or lack of. I’m just not as afraid to use Lankford, in his capacity, just yet. I need to see more of him and from him. Maybe it will happen, maybe it won’t.

  38. But isn’t every fumble crucial? It was a great return notwithstanding. It’s unfortunate about that fumble, it might have lead to at least 3 points..or not. The staff must see something in Lankford and he draws in over Washington..for some reason. We’re at the point where we must trust the Bombers’ staff for including certain players in their game plans. As long as we keep doing well and win, what do I really care?

  40. I don't include them in the grouping of other teams in the league because based on how they do things, and treat/use players...they don't really make any sense..so inclusion is just not warranted

  43. YEAH HE IS...AND IS 4-1 as a starter this year even though he has played below his usual standards...point being???...I can say too..we are probably better off with Strevler behind center if Nichols gets hurt than anything you guys trot out there...especially based on the support all around )coaching/rb/O-line/receiver) and proof is in the pudding from whats transpired this year so far. Heck...Streveler has produce more TD's this year in his 3 starts and spot play all by himself than your offense has in total all year...can't deny that can you?

    US Politics

Anyway, this Ingraham stuff is pretty ******* scary. I am a legal immigrant to the USA. I don't feel personally targeted by the current administration because I'm the whitest goddamn person on the planet (I'm mostly English + Danish) and my record is squeaky-clean here ... but every time I see a headline about targeting legal immigrants I get a little nervous. I need to get my ass naturalized soon, because this is my home, and I need to feel secure in it, and also being able to vote will be good. Just in case anyone is curious -- I don't resent "illegal" immigrants because I got to emigrate to the USA by choice, I was at the end of a bad relationship and needed a change, and hey, why not Seattle? But I could have moved anywhere in Canada, or a lot of other countries, and I would've been fine. I didn't come to the USA under duress, because my home country is a bomb-paved hellscape, or because there's no other way I can support my family, or because my government is killing people of my religion. A lot of those folks have faced enormous hardship that I simply can't imagine, and once they're here, they are paying taxes and working hard -- much, much harder than I do, with my super cushy office rocket programming job. And so I'm not going to condemn those folks on the basis of them being on the wrong side of a border as a survival strategy.
