Alexander making some nice plays early Harris draw play on 2nd and 17...draws some boos..... Gator totally jumps hitch pass....Colaros throw it right to him ....and Gator is long gone, for 50 yd INT TD. Blue up by 10 Rider O not looking much better than last week.... Nichols does throw behind to Washington on side lines.... ...who gets face mask tacked on for a huge gain..... Riders somehow up 20-17 in a half where they had like 80 yds of O. Nichols gets a resounding chorus of boos to close out the half. 5 picks in a half.... from a veteran QB in a must game? Enough. If Nichols is not pulled - MOS is going to hear it too. 2nd half....and yes.... looks like Streveler will go in Collaros moves the Riders for 4 first downs.... Bombers leaving the flats wide open. Actual Loffler sighting....as he flat out drops ball, thrown right at him. Streveler's first pass is to Petermann for nice gain Blocking for Harris is non-existent today, totally stuffed on the run plays Petermann gets totally jacked up over the middle by a Rider Alexander still making plays - nice game for him. The Canucks do a better job of catching and YAC, than our imports at receiver. Bomber D gets another stop. Strev finds Adams deep over the middle.... Petermann drops probable TD slant. Medlock puts bombers into the lead. Bridge gets two big completions and roughing penalty, and Mason, down to Bomber 15 Bomber D yet another stop. A lot of bending..... but no breaking, today..... Rider FG puts them up 29-27. 3 minutes to go. Two Streveler incomplete passes....forces Blue to punt. Harris a complete afterthought in our O, at this point..... Bomber D does the job and O has ball back with 2 minutes to go.... Streveler throws for loss to Demski - short pass to Demski - now 3rd down Riders get big pressure...Strev lobs one up to the sideline while falling down.... .....for yet another pick. Why not? One area of consistency in Bomber O, today... Riders hit 6th FG of game. Now 32-27 Streveler hits Washington over the middle But 5 Bombers can't handle 3 rushers... ....and Strev is sacked. Now Hail Mary time..... But pass out of bounds, 15 yds short of end zone will not get it done. Bombers done. The D really hung in there today, making a number of big plays to stop Rider drives The O? What we have here is a failure to execute. Play calls, drops...bushel of picks.. Must win game and must bounce back game for Nichols. Double fail. 4th straight loss. Took a lot of mistakes to get swept by this Rider team. Bombers certainly well up to that task Managed to get this Odds and Sods out, in a relatively calm manner.... ....while drinking my gin ferociously.

After thinking about it some more, you can't blame that game on anyone but Nichols. As awful as Lapo's game plan was, you had a QB throw essentially 5 awful interceptions, two in the red zone that amount to a 20 point swing at a minimum, possibly even 28. Nichols singlehandedly lost that game.

Do you seriously believe that? Wolitarsky has done more in half a season than JFG did in his entire time with the team. Both woli and peterman will be better than jfg if not already there.

Streveler looked alright considering he was running Nichols offense and Nichols is basically the complete opposite style of QB, along with Streveler's level of experience. Lapo also had about 5 playcalls yesterday, Harris/Flanders search run, Demski sweep, QB Draw, RB slip screen and a handful of pocket passing plays. Can't really judge Streveler until he actually gets to run an offense designed for his strengths.

It's an issue with the play calling. It's terrible. Lapo is far worse than Hall at this point in the season. Halls defense deserved to win the last 2 game for sure and I'd argue they did enough in Calgary with any support from the offense.

Saying MOS is of low IQ is an absurd thing to say.

Not crazy about some of the stuff that Lapo does - especially some of these gimmick 2nd plays in the red zone. That said - no offense is going to work, when the triggerman is/was as awful as Nichols, today.....

Family, health and other issues have made this year particularly difficult to crank out the O+S this year. I apologize to the small and devoted following, for this. May produce one in the morning - if I can restrain myself from overly ranting about this particular abortion.....

Once again the defence kept us in the game but the offence let us down once again. Too many stalled drives in the red zone and of course the turnovers. This is 2 games in a row where the defence has played good enough to win. But no support at all from the offence.

As sure as the sky is blue, Nichols single handedly lost that game for us today. No one can say otherwise & be taken seriously.

And yet they didn't give up a TD that entire game and gave the offense two drives in the final two minutes. Your expectations might be a bit out of whack or maybe you're so biased against Hall you can't give a fair evaluation.

Pfft...get real, those guys have barely played or been targeted. When they have all they have done is make plays. Wolitarsky finally starts being targeted, last 4 games he's on 1000 yard pace. Corey Washington is in an import. Guy who has spent time with 7 NFL teams. What has he done in that time frame?

That's hogwash. To have one guy as good at both placekicking and punting is extremely rare. There are better punters, but they don't placekick. There are a couple placekickers in his realm but they don't punt. He's definitely worth one of four DI spots considering most teams are using 2 roster spots and more cap space on kickers, at least the teams with good kickers.

who expected Nichols to implode like this? Five interceptions thrown in a half, two cancelled by penalties. wow. If Nichols had played as well this season as he did since he took over, this entire situation would be much better. Don't know what happened to him, but it has to a significant extent ruined this season. I'm not expecting him to turn it around. Also, it's on the coach, the head coach, that they didn't get some time for Streveler as this was unfolding, and did not seem to have plays for his abilities, when he finally went in. Maybe somebody can offer a reasonable explanation for that apparent mistake. This is just from an ordinary fan, maybe there's something I'm missing due to lack of knowledge.

I'll talk about Nichols..... Saw this game as a must win for the team, and a must step up for Nichols.....who had played poorly, for a full month coming into this one. Some of the turnovers today, were right out of 9 man football - and coming from a veteran QB - utterly unacceptable. For whatever reason, injuries or whatever.....Nichols has completely lost his poise and confidence out there. He is a liability at this point

I’ve seen starting coverage a few minutes late cause one game runs late. But to air the entire game and switch away with two minutes left??? I PVR’ed it. Ignorant pricks

Our Canadian receivers are better than our american ones, start them all and play Leggett at safety when he's healthy and problems solved. Though if they keep using the safety the same way they use Loffler it won't really matter.

And in BC where literally 2 first downs in the fourth quarter on any of 3 drives would have ended the game. No offense for a whole half. Happens far too often.

Not today. He blew the game up for the Bombers with those 2 quick picks. He played like a scared rabbit. He looked confused & intimidated today. There is no defending him whatsoever today.

Yeah Sanchez always went for his knees, Stoddard absolutely lit him up one game after he submarined Milt for about the 3rd time. Stoddard was good at a lot of things, have to have a guy like.

And in any game we've had reasonable offense the D has been more than adequate.

That first pick I blame on Lapolice to be honest, why in gods name, in 2nd and 3 in scoring position do we empty the backfield? Slam Harris up the gut and worst case we kick a field goal. We got a good OL right>? Should be able to pound Harris. He did a lot of that stupid crap today. Like I said, Nichols did some bad things but the game plan didn't give him any help at all.

Similar in that Lapo is in charge of the offense and it's terrible. Where's Gary Crowton? Couldn't hire an OC when Lapo was coach because they knew they'd get overruled and have to run his bullshit.

It's a reflection of how stagnant the offense is. The opposing D knows where the ball is going and are often waiting for it. Lapo doesn't trust Nichols clearly, we've seen him dumb down gameplans for QB's before and go super conservative like this. The RedZone offense is horrendous. No Harris, no Streveler, no run game, no misdirection. Sask scored more points off our RedZone possessions than we did. There was nothing in the gameplan for Streveler. He was running the same stuff, no read options, nothing to use his mobility and running ability, one rollout play which was a big pass play to Petermann. Is he going to put together a competent gameplan for Streveler to give him the best chance to succeed? On Streveler's first INT there were two receivers in the route, on that side of the field, the play side. There were 6 Riders. It was a straight drop back. That's not setting up a rookie QB for success. That's not setting up any QB for success. That's setting up a QB to get sacked, throw it away or turn it over. Lapo needs to go.

So disappointed. Looking at the remaining schedule, it feels like this year is already done. The only reason I still follow this team is that I dont want to be the idiot that gives up right before they win it all. Sadly, it feels like I'm the idiot either way.
