Just returned from first trip and game to IGF- Want to thank Winnipeg and BB fans for a fun weekend and great game experience And I'd be saying that even if the score hadn't favored my riders - won't disagree that for the second game in a row we had no business even being in the game after first half The game day experience at IGF is fantastic- I'll have a couple suggestions for Mosaic that they could mirror from IGF And when you guys go- it is seriously loud Also need to give shout out to Santa Lucia pizza- great pizza and they were willing to deliver to a motorhome " in some parking lot near IGF and we're calling from a cell phone with a 403 area code" Anyway, before I delete this account, let me say that two families of Rider season ticket holders are planning to make this trip an annual tradition

And scored a TD. Plus set up 2 offensive TDs on short fields after a 2 and out deep in Rider end and the forced fumble by Hecht. It’s almost unbelievable they could lose that game with how the D played.

Sports isn't about a good environment or players liking you or about protecting your players. It's about winning games, playoffs and championships. O'Shea became our HC in 2014. He's below .500 in wins and hasn't even won a playoff game yet. Rick Campbell and Chris Jones also became HC's in 2014. Both have won Grey Cups. Jones took an equally bad Riders team to the one the O'Shea inherited to the playoffs and won a playoff game in his 2nd year. Jason Maas and Dave Dickenson became HC's in 2016. Both have winning records and have won playoff games. Campbell, Jones, Maas and Dickenson's teams are all ahead of us in the standings this year. Not making the playoffs, or not winning a playoff game should be a firing offence this year.

Basically. I think Nichols is playing to the pressure from the media right now. A good QB that is really forcing it because things are not going well for the team.

Toronto was good enough last year to win the Grey Cup. Now look at them. Proof that being hot at the right time is the only thing that matters.

Oh please, we can still make the playoffs in the west. The Riders offense sucks with Collaros and it doesn't get better if he's concussed again and out for any time. You can't rely on the defense scoring several touchdowns a game for you forever, you might get on a run for a while but it won't last. Neither is Edmonton so far ahead. Lot of defeatists here but there's plenty of time left in this season and plenty of wins left for us to get.

I am saying be patient. These guys got us from **** to a lot of wins the past few years, why throw em all out on their asses at the very first sign of adversity? Next possession, Nichols throws pick into double coverage on Petermann.... ..... but roughing penalty negates it. Matt really pressing out there.... Very physical out there.....Riders really having some penalty issues.... Sask punt from end zone.....Demski actually runs straight ahead for 20 yds PR Riders take 3 penalties, to put it on the 1. Streveler sneaks in. 17-7 Blue Alexander picks off under thrown ball......PI penalty wipes that out.... Collaros hits pass down to the 11. Gator makes nice play on screen pass Riders settle for 3. Nichols under duress, tries to throw it away...... ...but it floats up short of the sideline....for an awful INT. Roh takes stupid Ob conduct - kicking mouth guard lying on the field Riders close the gap, with FG......17-13 Wolitarski becoming a solid target in this O Nichols under pressure, tries desperation underhanded toss.... ....right into the hands of a Rider who motors untouched for 100 yd TD.. Riders somehow up 20-17 in a half where they had like 80 yds of O. Nichols gets a resounding chorus of boos to close out the half. 5 picks in a half.... from a veteran QB in a must game? Enough. If Nichols is not pulled - MOS is going to hear it too. 2nd half....and yes.... looks like Streveler will go in Collaros moves the Riders for 4 first downs.... Bombers leaving the flats wide open. Actual Loffler sighting....as he flat out drops ball, thrown right at him. Streveler's first pass is to Petermann for nice gain Blocking for Harris is non-existent today, totally stuffed on the run plays Petermann gets totally jacked up over the middle by a Rider Alexander still making plays - nice game for him. Wish Demski would do less dancing and more straight line Strev overthrows pass into double coverage....which is then tipped and picked off.. What is with our QB reads today? Like some kind of contagious disease..... Loffler shoves guy into kicking net - 15 yds. Mason running effectively for Riders.....D does hold. Rider FG puts them up by 9. Morose atmosphere in stands. Hecth blitz off the edge, comes in clean and drills ZC - fumble recovered by Bighill Wolitarski gets good yds on screen....Demski sweeps for another first down Streveler then finds Petermann in back of end zone for the TD. The Canucks do a better job of catching and YAC, than our imports at receiver. Bomber D gets another stop. Strev finds Adams deep over the middle.... Petermann drops probable TD slant. Medlock puts bombers into the lead. Bridge gets two big completions and roughing penalty, and Mason, down to Bomber 15 Bomber D yet another stop. A lot of bending..... but no breaking, today..... Rider FG puts them up 29-27. 3 minutes to go. Two Streveler incomplete passes....forces Blue to punt. Harris a complete afterthought in our O, at this point..... Bomber D does the job and O has ball back with 2 minutes to go.... Streveler throws for loss to Demski - short pass to Demski - now 3rd down Riders get big pressure...Strev lobs one up to the sideline while falling down.... .....for yet another pick. Why not? One area of consistency in Bomber O, today... Riders hit 6th FG of game. Now 32-27 Streveler hits Washington over the middle But 5 Bombers can't handle 3 rushers... ....and Strev is sacked. Now Hail Mary time..... But pass out of bounds, 15 yds short of end zone will not get it done. Bombers done. The D really hung in there today, making a number of big plays to stop Rider drives The O? What we have here is a failure to execute. Play calls, drops...bushel of picks.. Must win game and must bounce back game for Nichols. Double fail. 4th straight loss. Took a lot of mistakes to get swept by this Rider team. Bombers certainly well up to that task Managed to get this Odds and Sods out, in a relatively calm manner.... ....while drinking my gin ferociously.

Hopefully people will not spontaneously combust......when MOS starts Nichols against Montreal.

First, let me say that I am in complete agreement with this proposal. When government can invest, without having to expand their footprint, into a stable, well thought out infrastructure project, it should. That being said, government's of all levels have put lots of money and faith into these types of projects in the past and never seen the return that was projected. Meanwhile, the tax payers foot the bill and let businesses off without bearing the risk. Sometimes it works out. Sometimes you have to wonder if government is eating too much. I wonder if Sam would have built the ball park with less from the city? What happens when property taxes start to be collected on that prime land? I love that park and think it's in the perfect place. But I'm also a sports fan. I have been in the room when businesses threaten to pick up and move if they don't get the "break" they are looking for. Politicians are squeezed from both sides and you can never be certain if the business is serious or bluffing. It's always very tricky and highly politicized. Anyhow, this is great deal for both sides, I think.

MOS has proven one thing in 5 years. He's slow to change. Slow to adapt. Loyalty usurps performance. That's why we struggle. That's why he needs to be replaced. He won't change. So time to go.

Our biggest issue this year is Matt Nichols.. It really is the biggest problem. Hes gone from a game managing QB to throwing 5 interceptions in a half of football. The backup is a rookie. What u want MOS to do? Nobody expected Nichols to be this bad. . Fire coaches all you want.. The cycle will repeat itself again tho because without a legit QB.. It don't matter who the coach is.

Needs another year? Why does he need another year? We know all about Mike O'Shea & how he coaches. What is going to be different next season as compared to this one? Why is it we just throw entire seasons away giving coaches who fail more & more chances to fail all over again? Very frustrating.

Finished Ozark Season 2 on Netflix. I highly recommend this series. Both seasons are available for binge watching. Its a Jason Bateman vehicle about a family caught up in a Mexican Cartel's money laundering scheme and move to the Ozarks to deal with it. Its a drama with some humor. Great cast. Julia Garner is the stand out as young Ruth Langmore, a local petty criminal from a white trash family. Lots of twists and turns along the way.

The Riders are not a good team, and won both games only because Nichols threw the games away- literally.

Are we sure on the date of this article? Because it reads more like something from Nichols first start here which was not long after he was acquired in a trade, you know considering that was when Moore was last here and all.

The sought after gem may have been shrouded in Nichols worst decision making game of the year leading to many points against. I'm not going to completely disagree with you. The Banjo Bowl was given away by our QB1 But I was mostly referring to stealing games from good offensive teams. We've seen plenty of times this year where our defense has looked good against bad offensive teams. Trying to post a defensive gem against the best offensive teams in the league has usually led to late game collapses. Our D isn't good enough to win those games on their own.

Banjo Bowl was a defensive gem. The D only gave up 9 points.

I don't think a coach in the history of the CFL has lasted more then 4 seasons without at least one playoff victory. We are in year 5 of the O'Shea regime. If the Bombers make the playoffs, and lose in the first round, he should be fired regardless of how well the Bombers play. The organization will have showed more patience than any other CFl franchise under similar circumstances.

They didn’t run a single read option. You are talking about a quarterback draw. There was no other option. The play was just Streveler running, no back to hand it to, no pass option, no read to make other than for Streveler to try to find a gap to run to. They had zippo installed for Streveler, nothing. The only difference between the calls for him and Nichols was they called QB Draw twice in that half he played. It was a disgraceful display of coaching by Lapolice. How can they go into that game knowing where Nichols is at and not give reps to Streveler and have a game plan ready for Streveler as well? To me that’s fireable amount of negligence for an OC.

Even the previous game we were a few blunders away from winning. The record will show 2 Rider victories..and good on them. But honestly I still think we are a much better team overall when healthy.

I'm actually worried with the coming bye week that we'll pull another 'Doug Berry'... Team was flailing in early 2008... so Doug Berry asks Taman to 'remake' the team - with Joe Smith/Fred Reid thunder n lightning... The team has a winning run in the second half... so of course Bauer rewards everyone by cleaning house... then Kelly cuts Joe Smith - back to square one (actually square minus 10... but whatevs)

Everyone I knew was mortified when he was canned... he'd brought us back from the scrap heap and then Bauer treated him like crap. Ritchie was too loyal to Khari that season but with very very good reason... everyone was hoping he'd recover from the injury. He didn't. Maybe there's a similar thing with Osh and Nichols but Nichols has done far less than Jones...

Then we make the crossover and win the grey cup as an eastern team, it won't be the strangest thing to happen.

Speak for yourself. Dave Richie had overstayed his welcome and had become very reluctant to part with his favourite players, but I did not like Doug Berry's firing at all. That said, I was ok with the firing of every coach since then, and was leery about O'Shea.

I don't remember ANYONE other than Lyle Bauer who wanted Dave Ritchie fired... Lots of people were after Doug Berry and Kevin Glenn... for sure I do remember all the hype about Tim Burke coming in to lead us to the defensive glory days

One persons perspective can be so messed up when you compare it to facts. Even though they are now on a 4 game winning streak and sitting in 2nd place all by themselves. You say that Sask sucks???? Yet SK hammered Calgary. Then they went into BC Place and beat the Lions. Both of which the Bombers could not do. Then they won this back to back series. They are sitting at 7-4 with a game in hand this coming weekend. So with all that being said. I would suggest the reason why the Bombers are getting beat by SK and Ottawa is they are simply better.

Do you not think that if, after five years, a head coach has to be spoon-fed on decisions, that means he is not fit to be a head coach? Friends of mine who have been season ticket holders for 20+ years have told me that they will not attend any more games this year after Saturday's debacle. They are knowledgeable and have all the Bomber regalia but they have had enough and will not renew unless there are major changes.

Yeah I couldn't believe people were excited about the Bowman signing. Between he and Durant I almost barfed, and thought, 'boy aren't those a couple real team guys you landed Walters'. Now we know that is just an excuse they use to deflect from their horrible ability to recruit in the USA.

You fire the head coach when he loses the room. MOS has not lost the room so therefore you fire the 2 average coordinators

If we didn't fire Burke during the season.....we sure as hell are not firing MOS.

For me it's outright blowing these winnable games.....over and over again. Like being just about to take a gulp, then finding nothing in the glass.

We can only hope that if LaPo gets gunned somebody is stupid to hire him be it as a OC or even better as HC

O'Shea is four games below .500 into his fifth season as HC. That is mediocre. O'Shea coaches mediocre so his team is mediocre. Most head coaches with a record like that don't get 6 seasons & yet Walters will probably bring him back. With Miller's blessing. (Don't have to pay him his final season to not coach).

This absolutely nails it. It was obvious after the 2016 season that the offense had radically improved, that Nichols was in a zone as was Harris, but that neither of these players were getting any younger and thus the window was closing… It was equally clear that the defense was ****. MOS, however, true to form went all stubborn, retaining Hall not only for 2017 - which was already absolutely inexcusable – but then actually doubling down on his stupidity by retaining him again this year. The defense, while modestly improved this year, continues to be far, far, so far from a championship calibre side. Case in point? They were pretty good yesterday against a very mediocre Saskatchewan offense BUT... when they absolutely had to make stops, Mason ran all over them in the second half. I was there… I know. I saw it with my own eyes. The fact that Richie Hall is still here 2 seasons beyond when he should have been and that this madness continues was 100% completely avoidable and is, quite frankly, disgusting. Now the window on Nichols seems to be closing and we have a total train wreck as a result… All of this is 100% on MOS.
