Who is our receivers coach? Is it the same guy who couldn't figure out how to use Adarius Bowman in 2010, cut him and then got to watch him be one of the top receivers in the CFL for the next 5 years, most of that working for TSN? The only guy we've kept for more than one season in that PR/fringe player role is Lankford. I'm not sure Calgary is any better at bringing guys up or in who they choose to bring to camp beyond the obvious ones like Daniels, but they sure as hell are better at developing receivers and giving guys time to develop.4 points -

Not sure about a championship team, but they have: Egos, assholes, dirty players, showboats, cheaters, players of low character, criminals and douchebags- that right there is certainly a rider team.3 points -

At the beginning of the year most people thought that we had a great team on paper. Backup QB after double-doosh took the money and ran was the only weak spot personal wise. Turns out that backup QB is the least of our problems. I still think we have the players to win more games than we have. I don't think the coaches are getting the most out of the players we have.2 points

I don't think you call it clutch when you finally show up to a game, late in the 4th quarter. Making a play in the first quarter is as valuable as the fourth. Unless you're also calling Nichols late TD against the Stamps clutch?2 points

The Lions committed to Lulay. They knew Reilly wouldn't sign in BC. They wanted to acquire some assets before he became a FA a few days later. So, trading Reilly to Edmonton was just part of the understanding that both sides came to. No way Edmonton trades for Reilly if they didn't think they could sign him. BC did this while Reilly was under contract to them so there was no reason for the league to overturn an above the board trade which it was. Wally gave BC permission for Reilly's agent to talk to the Eskimos. Again, all above board as both sides wanted this deal to go through.1 point -

Reilly wasn't going much further east of the Rockies. He's from Kalispell. His dad drives to every home game. BC allowed Edmonton to negotiate with Reilly and made the trade when the deal was reached. This was well-known. Sure you could burn picks and hope I guess. The guy had no interest in being here.1 point -
Its times like this that its good to review some epic forum debates... 2013 - Reilly has never done anything, not worth two 2nd round picks.... 2013 - Pierce is leaner and stronger than ever... no WAY he'll get injured this year 2014 - Collaros is unproven, too much money, who needs him 2014 - glad we didn't get Burris, he's an over-rated arrogant jerk - washed up 2014 - what a deal we got on this amazing Sask backup QB... Drew Willy - go Willypeg!!! 2015 - Willy played great in the last part of the season... we don't need an experienced backup 2016 - Harris has never done anything/over-rated, too expensive... we have Matt Nichols, don't need him etc etc etc1 point

I don't think we do. We tend to release all of our less experienced import receivers very quickly. Begelton played 9 games for the Stamps last year as a rookie, and has played 6 this year. We've had guys that have played a few games here and there, and then we cut them whether they show some flashes or are terrible, cut. Lankford is the only guy we've really held onto, even though he's showed nothing but the ability to run in straight line pretty fast. Import or non-import guys need time and opportunity to develop. We have guys like Petermann and Simonise who are showing well when they get a shot. You gotta find a way to get those guys 10 snaps a game on offense even if they aren't starting so they can develop and get comfortable. Lapo is terrible at this, has always been. Look at Calgary, a guy like Sindani has got snaps and a pass or two every time he's dressed, now when injuries happen he can play, he's comfortable. Brescacin same thing.1 point -

Both sides of the ball have taken turns blowing games.Sometimes in different games, sometimes the same game. (see blowouts this season) If all the defence has to do is stop the other team from moving into field goal range as time expires, and it can't.... of course it shares the blame. another example..... If a field goal kicker misses a twenty seven yard kick on the final play which wins the game if good..... would you say, yeah but the offence should have scored more? If the defence has a chance to win the game by making a turnover on downs, and can not do it, it's part of the problem. Blame.....Our whole team has it's share. Watched a few kick return TD this weekend. Have the Bombers had any this season?1 point -

Nichols has 72(?) starts and is now producing 200 yard passing games.......Big Chris got his feet wet early in this league and matched Nichols....... I hope we can revisit this after Big Chris starts 70 more games......1 point -
Streveler doesn't scare anyone either in case you didn't notice he was 1 and 2 and passed for less than 200 yards in both losses and had virtually the same production as Nichols. The QB problem we have is coaching.1 point

Accordingly to cfl stats it's Powell by ten yards this morning........1 point -
What some here have been predicting came to pass last night. The Rider defence was good, but not quite as good as in other games, the offence was its usual self, and Elizondo came up with a plan to beat the Rider defence with an average O-line. As Suitor pointed out repeatedly, the Rider game plan was to load up the box and stuff Powell. Ottawa countered with an outside passing game and when the Riders tried to adapt, Powell was sent into the line to seal the deal.1 point

You have no qb. simple. Riders have trouble with a passer. They wouldn't go after Harris for fear of Powell, and Powell was hurting us too. Perfect storm. Nichols scares no one, shut Harris down and wait for the Picks to come. Riders mistake was not blitzing, we should have went after Harris guns blazing and we didn't1 point -
