  1. That wasnt the same defence Streveler played. 5 new starters, most in the league say their D has greatly improved. I dont know what Streveler would have done. But the two games shouldn't be compared too hard.

  2. Our own fault. Bombers have simply given away too many points in the standings this year. Can't close out against Edmonton, lose on last play Utter 2nd half collapse against the Lions Collapse down the stretch against the Stamps Completely blow 2 games against the Riders (a team we should beat) Ok beating Montreal is not that special - but 0 turnovers, 1 penalty and a clutch 4th quarter drive, at least could be a starting point - in doing some things the right way...........

  3. Do any of your posts not contain bitching and moaning about the Bombers? You know where you would fit in right now? riderfans. you should check that place out- you might find yourself in like minded company.

  4. Did he run off with your wife? You're shtick is getting old. Can you at least keep you incessant bitchong and moaning out of a positive thread? Do you go through life and piss on every parade you come across? Do you just walk around and shout and shake your fist at random clouds?

  5. I said it earlier in the week, some people have flipped to preferring to see Nichols and OShea fail rather than seeing the bombers win. Nichols had a solid game but unless he was perfection out there it's not enough for some.

  6. As opposed to carrying on with the slings and arrows directed to everyone with a pulse had we lost that game? That’s who we played. That’s who we beat. It was never in doubt. Are some of you pissed that we won? Do you think anybody who beats Montreal has second thoughts because it was Montreal? No, I think they play, they win, and then they move on to the next game..like we will.

  7. Winnipeg: Edmonton - We lost to them by 3 with Streveler at the helm, they're also in free-fall lately (lost 3 of 4) ... no reason we can't take advantage here. (W) Ottawa - This is the Jekyl/Hyde team this year - sometimes they look stellar, other times... not so much. Likely a loss though. (L) Saskatchewan - These bums barely beat Toronto last night, and their offense is nonexistent... can't see us losing 3 to them, especially since it is at home. (W) Calgary - Realistically Calgary will probably have locked up 1st in the West at this point, so we might luck out and play a game against their scrubs like last year. (W) Edmonton - If this game has any meaning, hopefully our team can step up. (W) Record: 10-8 B.C. Hamilton - They'll be ticked about blowing that late lead yesterday, also the Tabbies are at home. (L) Toronto - BC probably has the edge here, realistically. Toronto's been pretty bad this year. (W) Calgary - Calgary's is just too good, and they'll likely still be playing for something here. (L) Edmonton - Spanked the Lions earlier in the year, though this is in BC and is the tiebreaker. (W) Saskatchewan - This game is in Saskatchewan, and the Lions have been atrocious on the road. (L) Calgary - Similar to our game against them, could be playing at home against Calgary's second stringers (W) Record: 9-9 I fully expect an incoming storm of anger and disgust relating to how this post is unrealistic and optimistic and how I have no idea what I'm talking about. As a fan, I welcome it and would like to point out that this is my casual, slightly-home-biased opinion. I would also like to point out I am entitled to it, just as much as the doom-and-gloomers on this site are entitled to theirs.

  8. It's not that far-fetched to say Wolitarsky could have been completely ignored by LaPo and Nichols had Streveller not relied on him heavily during his starts and revealed his abilities. All it takes to find out whether a player is a baller is to make them a part of the game plan by throwing the ball in their direction more than once or twice per game and see what happens. Many receivers playing that position never get the opportunity to show their stuff and only get thrown to as a last resort.

  9. The fans were cheering the fact that Nichols got up with a little bit of fire. It got the team fired up to see him take a big hit and pop back up with some enthusiasm... fired up the crowd too.

  10. And we will be the first cross over team to win the cup.

  11. Riders should be on at least a 4 game losing streak right now. I don't remember the last game they won that wasn't handed to them by the other team.

  12. Who would bother to respond to a poster who claimed Bowman was going for 200 last night?

  13. That's how you don't throw a pass to where a DB can't make a play on it... unlike Nichols throws last night

  14. And yet here you are bitching about everything despite beating Montreal.

  15. Injuries are not the focus of this thread. It’s the race between BC and Winnipeg for the crossover spot. Who gets the wins that earn that spot? All the rest of the talk (firing Coaches etc.) will be dealt with later. Besides, we’ve already covered that shyte. Deal with whom BC and the Bombers can beat to get there.

  16. All teams deal with injuries. That's the issue. Last season the Eskimos basically played with 4th and 5th stringers for the lions share of their team and still managed to make the playoffs then bounce us.

  17. Does anyone here really believe our coaching staff should return if we miss the playoffs this season? 5 full years zero playoff wins and regressing? Playoffs or bust as far as I'm concerned. No excuses.

  18. Bombers lost because they played like crap and have done so except for a couple of games. Riders have won because they have had games handed to them, save perhaps for the Calgary game. Good teams win consistently, bad teams find ways to lose. Apart from the likelihood of the Bombers missing the playoffs yet again, it really irks me that we are probably going to see the Riders do well enough that we will have to see Jones again next year.

    EDMONTON 7-5 @ OTTAWA 7-5

If Edmonton won, they'd be 'on a roll and unstoppable'... if they tied, their lockerroom would have vowed to destroy their next opponent Its literally impossible that Edmonton is just an average team now that we almost beat with out backup QB... right?

Man, it just never ends with you... even in an unrelated game, you find a way to sew an anti-bomber thread. Wasn't that long ago you promised to show the real you and drop this Mike Kelly garbage... because it was a 'character'... now its just irritating and old.

  25. I like that plan. Wolitarsky is likely a better slot receiver - good hands and size. I think they’re under utilizing Simonise. Size, speed, he’s definitely a match up problem at boundary. Makes so much sense it’ll never happen
    2 points
  26. If demski cant go..I'd put Woli in the slot and Simonese outside..we be a better offence with at than with Peterman in..still too inconsistent and has had 3 or 4 pretty bad drops last 2 games. Simonese would draw constant attention on boundary and is likely able to cause some mismatches

  27. Edmonton’s defence I would put it behind the Als

  28. You really had to be there to appreciate the timing of the throws between Nichols and his receivers, both were very sharp, the balls were placed were only the receiver had a shot at it. That is when Nichols is at his best, when he's connecting on those timing routes.

  29. I don't know what everyone is complaining about. The Bombers played great, they were sharp, focused and disciplined. Best game I have seen them play in a while and Sayles making the game clinching play, what more could you ask for?

  30. No kidding. Medlock is the leader in putting punts inside the 10. He works at it and he works on back spins. That’s not easy to do, especially inside the 10. If he gets a couple of shorter kicks and still maintains a 45.7 avg with a better net yardage than the opposing punter...what’s wrong with that?

  31. Had 45.7 average coffin cornered one and almost had another one.

  34. Doan's only real legacy was he played a long time (21 seasons). He didn't even average 20 goals a season. He was a grinder to me.

  39. Im a Nichols fan... but last night was worrying - as soon as Harris was down, we fell apart. 250 yards against Stubler is nothing to crow about... zero interceptions is good for sure... but I'm not sold on Nichols at all.

    Matt Nichols -BOO!!!!!!!

The Montreal defence is a heck of a lot better than it was in July. They have some really good DBs. As much Henoc gets crapped on here he is a solid MLB. They have couple real good DL especially 97 not sure his name. They are going to keep Mel in every game down stretch. Saying that thought Nichols was really sharp last night.

  45. Honestly the hate on guys have for Nichols is getting old. He is not a flashy qb but with a good d and when he is running a steady ball control offence that doesn’t turn the ball over it makes for a winning combo. the only qb’s that are better are Riley and Mitchell with Masoli possibly ahead of Nichols but he has yet to win anything. He proved his worth in the 4th with the drive that led to a big field goal and by not turning the ball over. ill conceed Montreal is not a good team but they have some solid players on D.

  47. So.. that's good, right? Most people, when they discuss/debate things, are trying to "prove their own point". That's the objective.
