Why give up draft picks for an American running back when we have Flanders on the roster?

We beat em in Edmonton last fall, why don't we do it again this year? Honestly when I look around the CFL I don't see any team that the Bombers can't beat if they are playing well. Now people are down on them right now because they haven't been playing well, but this weekends game was a step in the right direction regardless of who they were playing, so let's just let the rest of the season play out why not? People act like Edmonton is this monumental challenge but they're only 1 win better than us right now for all the problems Winnipeg has had. Just take care of the ball and move it a bit on offense and see what happens. There's a whole lot of meh teams in the CFL this year, think they call it parity, all it takes is a hot streak, and as the Riders have shown you don't even have to be good to get a hot streak!

Medlock had a couple of bad punts in the 2nd half, but people ragging on him is mind-blowing. He's the best kicker in the league IMO, and has been in that position for years. I loved watching him kick before we had the good fortune to acquire him. Those 2 punts in the first half, and the long-range field goal were things of beauty. I agree we need to think about a replacement, because his contract is up after this year I think and I believe he was talking about retirement before this season.

Winnipeg: Edmonton - We lost to them by 3 with Streveler at the helm, they're also in free-fall lately (lost 3 of 4) ... no reason we can't take advantage here. (W) Ottawa - This is the Jekyl/Hyde team this year - sometimes they look stellar, other times... not so much. Likely a loss though. (L) Saskatchewan - These bums barely beat Toronto last night, and their offense is nonexistent... can't see us losing 3 to them, especially since it is at home. (W) Calgary - Realistically Calgary will probably have locked up 1st in the West at this point, so we might luck out and play a game against their scrubs like last year. (W) Edmonton - If this game has any meaning, hopefully our team can step up. (W) Record: 10-8 B.C. Hamilton - They'll be ticked about blowing that late lead yesterday, also the Tabbies are at home. (L) Toronto - BC probably has the edge here, realistically. Toronto's been pretty bad this year. (W) Calgary - Calgary's is just too good, and they'll likely still be playing for something here. (L) Edmonton - Spanked the Lions earlier in the year, though this is in BC and is the tiebreaker. (W) Saskatchewan - This game is in Saskatchewan, and the Lions have been atrocious on the road. (L) Calgary - Similar to our game against them, could be playing at home against Calgary's second stringers (W) Record: 9-9 I fully expect an incoming storm of anger and disgust relating to how this post is unrealistic and optimistic and how I have no idea what I'm talking about. As a fan, I welcome it and would like to point out that this is my casual, slightly-home-biased opinion. I would also like to point out I am entitled to it, just as much as the doom-and-gloomers on this site are entitled to theirs.

Dude....the team is 6-7 and is the worst team in the west division. It's more then just Nichols being boo'ed at. The team flat out is underperforming this year.

First off- riders are not in the same class the stamps. You are delusional. The riders are totally fortunate that teams are giving them games, otherwise they would be at the bottom of the league right now. I mean, really... Montreal...? MONTREAL!!!!???? that is pretty much where the riders are at. If The hometown Bomber fans didn't boo Nichols- there would have been a much different result LDC and BB. The riders were the fortunate recipient of our qb working stuff out and having to try too hard to make plays and forcing stuff. Congratulations on ranking 2nd in the west- but that is not a good indication of how good the riders are, just how lucky they are.

Not to mention it should be the absolute easiest position to find a player at from the plethora of them in the states. Just say no to giving up much of anything for runningbacks.

Good teams find a way to win. Riders defense has been good to dominant for most of the season. Their special teams are up there with the best in the league. Meanwhile the Bombers offense has been below average for most of the season while the defense outside a few games against weak teams has been 6th or 7th best in the league. Special teams has also been mediocre. Hence, our sub.500 record.

Despite the win against the hapless Larks, I cannot see the Bombers winning more than one, at most two, of the remaining games even if Harris and Demski are back in the lineup. After nearly 50 years of watching, wishing and hoping, I've seen enough to be realistically pessimistic about this year's edition. Our NI talent is very good and the whole team is better than it has shown, but the whole is less than the sum of its parts and its not all Nichols.

Theyre not even trying to be cute anymore. I think they will march ahead because they really dont care. Clearly they knew of the second allegation against Kav which is why they were trying to force Ford's hand for a Monday hearing (or to pressure her into not testifying). They wanted the vote to confirm him before any more allegations came forward. Based on his record and now these allegations, there is simply no way he should be confirmed. He should be pulled and they should nominate someone else. But they dont want to be seen as weak. Problem is, they are sort of screwed. If they pull him now, they have to try and push a nomination through before the mid-terms. They will look defeated which hurts them in the election. Pushing Kav through is going to hurt them in the mid terms anyway. Firing Rosenstein this close to the mid-terms would be an epic disaster. Trump might just double down and fire everyone including Sessions and Mueller and hit the mid-terms with the message "if the Dems win control of Congress, they will take down this admin and mire the nation in a crises." Of course, never under-estimate the stupidity of the electorate.

Edmonton looks very beatable right now... but they are playing at home. I'm worried about Harris, Demski and Bighill missing that game. I guess for ratio reasons, if Harris can't go, LaFrance is the next man up. I would personally rather see Flanders . That being said, we need the W, no matter who is playing.

well, it was part of the issue. He was trying too hard to make plays the following games. He was rattled and took that personally. I agree it shouldn't affect him, he is a pro- but it did and led to those turnovers that were the difference in both games. How is that a stretch?

All teams deal with injuries. That's the issue. Last season the Eskimos basically played with 4th and 5th stringers for the lions share of their team and still managed to make the playoffs then bounce us.

Agreed. Every player is going to have an off-play or off-day but Medlock has proven himself to be the best leg man in the league for years now. My only concern about him is that we need to start grooming a replacement.

I watched the last quarter and MBT definitely has a lot of zip on his throws and didn't look lost when being rushed. If I was a new fan I would of assumed Nichols is a rookie CFL qb and MBT was the guy with many years experience... Sucks that Toronto couldn't get a real kicker.... they gave that one away.

I thought the offence played well once they figured out to do without Harris and Demski. nicholls came up with a game changing drive fir a field goal to give the blue a 10 point lead and capped it off with the big play to Tompkins. i thought he was back to his old form in the 4th and kudos to them for overcoming some big injuries.
