  1. My guess he could have still gone but MOS made a smart move in pulling him from the rest of the game. Just a hunch.

  2. Don’t know if many of you saw what the NFL is calling “roughing the passer” nowadays, but they seem to have taken tackling out of the equation. I’ve seen 3 instances, two by Clay Matthews, that show how to tackle properly. Yet he was flagged at least twice. It’s being noticed and talked about a lot. I hope they don’t go that far in the CFL. Maybe they’ll go this far in the NFL:

  3. WHO CARES....if taxes pay for it so be it as in the end nobody will notice it on their own personal bottom line...you were gonna pay tax anyway toward..whatever so big deal This is a big win win for the Bombers and the University...Based on the average revenue from the Stadium and Bombers since it opened they have been in the black like what...anywhere from 7 to 10 million a year (more if hosting a Grey Cup)? On going now this will allow for a percentage to be put away each year for maintenance and upgrades etc...and a nice portion of profit each year in the Bombers pockets...which in the longterm will venerable the team to continually attract higher end free agents and players....sure it has no effect on the SMS as all teams play under the same figure.....but adding amenities..facility perks...treatment options..player perks..etc...it goes a long way in a SMS based league..especially short career one such as in football at the lesser wage earned in Canada

  6. 1) Part of the game. 2) Part of the game. 3) Attempting to make the game as safe as possible, and protecting the product. 4)This is irrelevant. Obviously people are willing to stand in there and take those hits. They are compensated, they are aware of the risks. And finally, the hits this conversation were about, where not pancakes. They weren't even what anyone would consider huge "blow the guy up" kind of hits. They were, from what I can see, text book examples of how to tackle someone safely. And yet, still flagged. At some point, you just gotta play football.

I dont hate the idea in theory although, its a bit hypocritical to not want an FBI investigation saying the Senate is able to investigate and then to want an outside prosecutor to question the victim saying you need someone qualified to do it. And then the Dems should be able to choose a prosecutor to question Kav. They wanted to avoid the striking image of a bunch of old white men who said stupid things in recent days grilling a victim. But as you said, the image is now a bunch of old white men too gutless to question her so they bring in a female ringer....which is really transparent. Saw a poll, 52% of Republican supporters say Kav should be confirmed EVEN if he absolutely did these things. What an embarrassment that party has become. And why many of us conservatives want to see the Dems clean their clocks for want of any other alternative. Its not that we want a far left party...we want a center-right party that is fair and responsible. We dont have it and we cant have until this grotesque Frankenstein that the GOP has devolved into is wiped away.

  13. Just about every stadium & arena has been funded by tax dollars. As a taxpayer I have no problem with it, Yes, we knew this would probably happen one day so then why the surprise? Did Sellinger actually think the Bombers would pay off the $82 million? Maybe he was just a dumb socialist so who knows? Was it sneaky, sure. But it is what it is. As I said, the Bombers have a great facility so I'm happy. Every CFL stadium has been paid for by government. The alternative is what? No hockey? No football? No thanks.

  15. If Demski is indeed out for this game they need to get Flanders on the roster NOW, otherwise there was no point holding him in reserve all season long. He can rotate half-time with Petermann in Demski's slot and Petermann can fill in for Thomkins or Dressler when Flanders takes the field to maintain the ratio.

Well, they could of taken statements from Ms. Ramirez and Ms.Swetwick, or subpoenaed/questioned Judge, the polygraph examiner, or any of the potential witnesses. With this Senate Committee not being able to bring themselves to do any of that, and not having the balls to simply ask their own questions - bottom line, the FBI could of handled all of that. But an actual investigation was simply not part of the this particular agenda, in any way shape or form. Nor was any delay in the confirmation process. 3 women publicly stepping forward, who are willing to do lie detection, and testify.....against a Supreme Court nominee, for various forms of sexual misconduct? Why would anyone want to take a closer look at that? Nah, lets vote.

  35. Again, I will repeat, the purpose of writing off the debt will be to fund repairs and maintenance. There is currently no budget to do so. So, unless the Province wants a facility that is inoperable, this was a necessary move. Alternatively, they could take on the responsibility of funding repairs and maintenance themselves, which this government is not interested in doing. The burden will now be the Bombers/Triple B. They will be expected to maintain the facility. The original plan did not include a component of ongoing maintenance.

  38. I suspect no one on the team is really ok at this time of year.
    1 point
  39. I realize this, but that wasn’t my point. I guess you would have had to see the actual tackles in question. They were about as clean as you could teach. In each instance, on the ones that I saw, the commentators were surprised a penalty was called. So was I. I saw no intent on those plays and it was confusing for the would be tackler. You could almost hear him ask “ how the h e l l am I supposed to tackle him then? You never want to see a QB get hit and hurt, but when the tackle is clean, then what?

  47. I don't disagree with everything you say... but you say that you want whats best for the Bombers... while simultaneously saying that you want the Bombers to lose... realistically if you wanted what was best for the team you would be cheering for Coach O'Shea's success...
    1 point
  48. We all knew this day would come eventually. There's no way the Bombers could ever pay off the principal of that loan. The interest payments alone were enough.
