  2. Some people are so committed to their biases they can't see what really happened. Lapo called a pretty good game, the D started rough but got a lot better and Ottawa made plays at the end to get to OT, but they needed 3 downs to do a lot of what they did. In the end the Bombers won a game they deserved to win and we all avoided a heart attack.

  4. Just watched the game. Someone explain the Ellingson catch please, because to me that was a trap. I feel like the D stopped them twice with the game on the line, only for the refs to take it away.

  6. To me it looks like Nichols is over what was making him look like a rookie. He looked more sure in the pocket..moved around a lot better with no panic in his eyes...and stepped up and made decisive throws.. and very deliberate ones...during that 4 game streak and even before that..he did not look right.

  8. 8-7 after starting the season with our starting QB on the shelf isn’t a terrible record (especially when you look league wide). Sure there are a few warts and I’m far from satisfied with the compete level, the consistency and performance week in, week out but I’ll take it. Just have to get to the dance. After that anything can happen.

  9. There wasn't any. Yet there was Duane Forde going on & on about inconclusiveness on the Adams catch. What was the difference between that & the Ellingson catch? Just a whole bunch of incompetents running the CFL officiating. Having video reviews just shows even more incompetence.

  11. You know, it takes a certain amount of resolve to see a lead evaporate, no matter the circumstances, and come out on the field, score an OT TD, and 2point convert when momentum has shifted. The goal was to go into Ottawa and leave with 2 points. Mission accomplished!

  12. I truthfully was worried about our chances after the LDC/BB Disasters. I'm pretty happy right now with 8-7 and a 3 game winning streak.

    Hey, Bombers

Any Bomber win looks like a masterpiece to me.

  16. Huge back to back road wins against +.500 teams. First two wins of the season for the Bombers vs +.500 teams.

  18. Good character game for this team..to control the game only to blow it at end...yet have the ability to overcome and win in O.T and not cave in is a good sign. Also..T.O pretty much has to win out and we lose the rest of games to not cross over..dont see that happening and an Esks win and us beating sask next week really makes it interesting

  19. Nichols is only good if he dodges a 3 man botched block blitz with a perfect spiral into triple coverage threading the needle for a 40 yard touchdown every drive.

  20. Rod Black is such a turd. Anyway, I'm glad they got the win. That collapse late in the game shouldn't have happened, though. Too many of those under Hall's tenure as DC, IMO. Adam Bighill needs to be kept long-term. He and Santos-Knox are an awesome tandem.

  21. Yeah that's the vet savvy that Dressler brings...his use of the goalpost as a pick was totally planned. Though on the backside of his career it would be nice to be able to config our lineup ratio to use him as a DI for certain sets and for his leadership skills as a young guy develops. Also in clutch times like the o.t sure is nice to have that experience and almost player/coach presence

  23. That’s not possible or sustainable. No D can generate that kind of pressure every game. If they could, we’d have most CFL QBs on the shelf.

  24. Refs and the command center tried to help the RedBlacks win that game. Good thing key players made plays in the end.

  27. W! Big win for the Blue tonight. We did what we had to do to win. Strong performance by Matt Nichols tonight. He was the leader we need him to be. 6 different receivers. Mixed play calling. (the only poor calls were at the 5 yard line with 2 passes...?!??) We got a good performance from our D tonight. Posters are complaining but basically, Ottawa had 3 downs at the end..to get 10 yards. Tough to defend in any scheme. And that ball placement at the tail end of the game. What the hell was that all about. That wasn’t even close. In the end the right team won. W!

  28. H.H. to the impeccable Justin Medlock, the most boring kicker in CFL history. Not only did he put up a boatload of pts. he also assisted on a tackle.

  31. I'd rather our O tonight. Ottawa relied a lot on favourable officiating to extend several drives and get some points on the board. For instance a clear Harris lateral that was called a forward pass. FG there. Ellingson's "catch" on the last drive of the 4th. Sinopoli's spot in OT and the JFG TD drive which gave OTT a full yard they didn't attain and allowed a 3rd down sneak which would have been a longer gamble, and Fogg's "stumble" aided by a pretty significant shot by JFG. We rarely get those calls. Time of possession is huge, and our O could have put up a couple more TD's to salt this one away early.

  32. Disagree. You won't find anyone playing up on the receivers on the line unless they are in a bunch, standard to play off 8 yards. This is Canadian football. The open space was due to having no LB's in coverage, again. Nobody in the flats, again. Take Bighill and JSK out of the coverage and you basically have to run quarters, cover 1 or 0 with 6 in coverage. D has been dominant when they've done a good job of mixing blitzes and coverages with 3 man rushes.

  33. The team is rounding into form at the right time. All the credit to them.

  34. Bombers 456 total offense, Ottawa 455 total offense. Those are big numbers but with the lopsided possession time it really shows the difference in the two offenses. Ottawa can strike quick, we can't, we still have trouble pushing the ball downfield for some reason.

  35. Yeah.. Its actually quite annoying cuz its the same old crap over and over again. Just beat Ottawa in Ottawa in a game where we only trailed once.

  37. Has anyone stopped that pitch play to Harris in the redzone yet? No they haven't, get him on the edge vs a SAM or HB, TD. Instead we run two straight dropbacks from 1st and goal from the 5 and kick a field goal.

  38. Big win and we can cheer for the Esks to pull it out on Monday because the door is now open for us to take second from Saskatchewan. Winner tonight: Lapolice bringing the offense back to 2017 level making sure Nichols pulled the trigger quickly. Loser: Richie Hall going back to full on suck mode and needing the Ottawa offensive lineman and Sinopli to bail his butt out.

  39. Sure but when they break back towards their own line of scrimmage they have a huge advantage. That's Canadian football, the offense has a huge advantage with unlimited motion. You can cover off short routes and see if you get beat deep or lean more on the deep routes and come up to make plays on the ball and tackles. Most teams choose the latter because they don't want to give up multiple 70 yard plays every game.
    2 points
  40. What do people think "soft" coverage is? This is Canadian football. You can't jam receivers who get a 15 yard running start.

  41. That piss ant ref with the worst spot, but in the end it works out
    2 points
  42. The challenges are horrible. And it's horrible that the coaches only get one win or lose. Should be unlimited if they keep winning. They try so hard to use it on an impactful play that many times they hold the challenge when there's a play they should challenge, especially earlier in games. There's been at least a half-dozen plays in this game that should have been challenged.
