  1. BLM must think he’s playing in the Grey Cup. 😎

  3. What does Bauming gain by saying that? He doesn't work for the team so he has no reason to lie. Someone asked him if he thought the team would be bringing some new blood in & he said they had made attempts. Whether or not that actually results in players being brought in, is another thing.

  4. I've been pleasantly surprised by both Alexander and Sayles this season.

    Thanksgiving Football

Good morning everyone, it's a great day to watch the Riders get stomped at home. First things first, can Johnny Football shock the world and lead the Als to a win over the Stampeders??

  7. For all the angst about the Bombers, we're seeing that every team in the West has some serious flaws heading down the stretch.

  8. Guy lines up ar half back, teams put their best receivers in the slot, and you wonder why the half backs get targeted more? Every db gets beat at times, but Alexander has been a really good player for us this year. For my money he's been the best, though a late charge from sayles makes it close.

  9. Noticed this in particular, when we played them. If anyone gets within 5 yards of Manziel....he breaks the pocket immediately, whether people are blocked up, or not

  10. Disagree. That specific play, is a qb who trusts his reciever. Reciever is covered well, ball is placed well, one of the best receivers in the league goes up and makes a great play. This isnt a bad defensive system or player. It's a good offensive play, made by a good offence.

  11. I hope our conditional draft pick for Bowman was based on his number of drops.

  12. Wow, that's some awkward banter between Rod Black and Duane Ford...

  13. Manziel is improving every game. He could be a really good CFL qb in the years to come.

  14. This is why any new money added to the salary cap should be spent on raising the minimum salary. Since the last deal most of it has likely gone to Canadians and quarterbacks, which isn't going to help recruit talent from down south.

  15. I think Calgary"s injuries on offense are finally catching up to them.

  16. At this moment we have a 91.4% chance of making playoffs. A riders win increases that to 91.6% chance An esks win reduces it to 91.1% I will gladly give up those odds to watch the rubes get sent back to their shanties in disappointment

  17. Minimum salary AAF: $75,000 USD, which translates to about $97,000 CAD Minimum salary CFL: $54,000 CAD Even though the AAF is unproven, you can't blame players for seeking employment elsewhere where the pay is almost 80% more. It'll be interesting to see how the existence of the AAF will impact the upcoming CBA negotiations between CFL/CFLPA for the 2019 season.

  19. Two years ago Walters went and got Heath and Glenn to say he has done nothing in the past is factually wrong.

  20. Not sure if it's been mentioned anywhere else yet, but Freep's Paul Wiecek announced his retirement. One less 'journalist' ignoring practice im the stands.

  21. He was super good at handing the ball off that game, you're right. Also that guy hasnt beat this team. Please dont join the source in thinking the last 30 years, all players, coaches and management has remained the same.

  22. Lol the dressler Td was luck? I've read some interesting opinions on here over the past year....that one is the dumbest.
    2 points
  23. Of course Bauming would say that. Amazing how other teams can make moves late in the regular season & we can't. Meanwhile Ryan Stankford stays on the PR. It tells me Walters sits on his ass & really doesn't want to do anything. I don't buy the excuse we can't do anything. Why wouldn't we try to upgrade at receiver? Makes no sense. Our roster & personnel management drives me crazy. We are not a proactive organization.

  27. That OL is brutal. Reilly won't make it thru the rest of the season if this continues.

  28. That should have been a flag, dirty hit but hey the CFL has to pump the Riders because apparently a province of just over 1 million people drives a league in a nation of 36 million.

  30. That should be roughing the passer. Spear with a little extra on the ground. See if the Command Centre has the guts.

  31. The cap won't be going up significantly. Where is that money coming from? At least a third of the league is hemorrhaging money at the current level of compensation.

  33. Really like Jim Barker on the panel. Stegall, Dunigan, Barker is the best panel I've seen.

  34. White had 3 brutal drops in the 2nd preseason game. He played his way off the roster and into the final cuts. He certainly didn't play well enough to surpass a veteran free agent signing. If you think Bowman's spot was up for grabs in pre-season you are deluded. White lost to Thompkins, rightfully so. Hasn't done jack for the Argos either.

  35. Free-lancing only goes so far, Manziel is either too stupid to learn the playbook or he's relied on winging it for so long he doesn't know how else to attack a D.
    1 point
  36. Don't really see a ton of hope for Manziel. Not doing anything well in a consistent way. The odd prayer answered, I don't know if you can build an offense on that, I guess to some degree Maas and Reilly have. Clearly the Als can't score even when they put up a few plays and yards.

  37. He panics immediately, constantly runs backwards and throws off his back foot a lot. Pipkin looked better in the same offense.

    Thanksgiving Football

Gobble up these historical facts: “ There has been a Thanksgiving Day CFL game in each year since 1958 - 118 games in total and for the 61st consecutive year. - - There have been 67 Thanksgiving Day games won by the home team, 49 by the visitors and 2 ties. - The highest scoring game came in 1992 - Winnipeg 49, Ottawa 47; the lowest came in 1966 - Hamilton 8, Winnipeg 7 - Edmonton has played the most Thanksgiving Day games with 33 and their meeting with Saskatchewan extends that to 34. - In 2018 Calgary will make it 29 appearances and Montreal 33 in their game; Saskatchewan will make appearance #24. - Edmonton is 20-12-1 on Thanksgiving Day and will play the Riders who are at precisely .500 at 11-11-1 on this Day - Calgary sits at 13-15 all-time and will play Montreal who are at 16-16; this will be their 4th meeting on Thanksgiving Day. - Oddly, the Riders and Eskimos have only two meetings on Thanksgiving Day - in 1962 and in 2011 (one win each). - Winnipeg owns the largest comeback win on this day in 2010 overcoming a 21-point BC lead to win 47-35 in Overtime.” -Game Notes

  43. GAME NOTES: “Stampeders Receiver starters: Despite a lineup that has just 4 starters at Receiver each week (most clubs start 5 receivers – Calgary starts a Fullback each week), Calgary has been forced to employ 8 different starters in 2018. Their receiver starters include Daniels 12, Jorden 10, Michel 10, Durant 8, Begelton 6, Rogers 4, Brescacin 1 and Ambles 1. Julan Lynch and Richard Sindani have also played a major role this year for them at that position.”

    US Politics

Build on what? Republicans put a biased partisan ******* drunken sexual predator on the supreme court. They told women and victims of assault everywhere that they don't matter... there was no politics here from Democrats, only from Republicans who are hell bent on eroding freedoms.

  48. Maybe the point is that someone else should have been found/brought in/brought back better than the Lankford's of our PR when really they aren't good enough to get on the roster, and when they do...are very underwhelming
