    Thanksgiving Football

The Reilly hit should have been RTP. I really don’t understand the waffling. A helmet to helmet hit used to be automatic. What’s changed? I’ve seen hand slaps on helmets called for RTP. Evans slams on Reilly with his full weight..something I thought they were trying to get out of the game.. Damn shame really.

  2. Something interesting to note... We have the second highest point differential in the league (+101) behind Calgary (+160) we have the highest scoring team in the league by far (466) which equals out to 31 points per game. One last thing to note. We’ve allowed 8 less points then the vaunted Saskatchewan Rough Rider defense. We’ve allowed 365 points while they’ve allowed 373. For the people who are so doom and gloom amongst a three game winning streak, take a second and look around the league. We had our mid season problems but I think we’re doing just fine, if anything we faced our adversity and we’re winnining when it counts.

  3. More from Rider columnist Darrell Davis..telling it like it is. “Until Willie Jefferson made a Willie Jefferson-type play that was somehow allowed by the CFL’s video-review officials, the Saskatchewan Roughriders were poised to lose a pivotal game against the Edmonton Eskimos. But while Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly was absorbing a helmet hit and getting fallen on by Riders defensive lineman Zack Evans, Jefferson — one of the league’s top defensive players — grabbed an interception and carried it 49 yards for a game-deciding touchdown. Video review somehow ignored the late-game, roughing-the-passer penalties and Saskatchewan beat Edmonton 19-12.”

  4. That's pretty much what Demski already is, Durie rarely ran the ball, returned kickoffs sometimes, and was also injury prone.

  5. Disagree. That specific play, is a qb who trusts his reciever. Reciever is covered well, ball is placed well, one of the best receivers in the league goes up and makes a great play. This isnt a bad defensive system or player. It's a good offensive play, made by a good offence.

  6. Lulay playing, could very well be the difference in BC beating out Edmonton for a playoff spot.

  7. 1) when has emotion ever been based on facts or evidence?? 2) if you say you don't care about the team, then you probably never really did care... that's not a "shitty thing to say"... I'm not saying anyone is a "bad fan"... I'm saying emotional attachment doesn't just go away... I've felt indifference and frustration with this team many, many, times... but when it comes to game time...I still find my emotions racing no matter what game it is...

  8. so you're really not interested in actually discussing things and instead are choosing to simply talk **** about the bombers. GTFO of here with that nonsense. Come back when you want to talk football, though I don't truly expect any Rider fan to have a hot clue about football so maybe the fault is mine for expecting too much from you.

  9. I've been pleasantly surprised by both Alexander and Sayles this season.

  10. The reason it’s annoying is because you spew the same nonsense in every thread. This thread had nothing to do with the Bombers and you come in here and make it about the Bombers. It’s extremely frustrating.

  11. But that's not even remotely close to the point I'm making... I didn't say, if you don't watch the games live, you're not a fan... I appreciate that life gets in the way.. I've missed three homes games this year and probably haven't missed three games in the last 5 years combined... What I am saying is when you do watch the game... if you are truly emotionally invested in a team... you will feel everything cheering for your team... no matter the circumstances...

So there is no difference between Trump and the Republican party, if there was they'd put the brakes on his lunacy, instead they are doubling down getting in line behind him cause the whackos in the base love the guy cause he enables their bigotry and makes it seem like a legitimate stance to have. Second of all there are plenty of studies that show in fact that Republicans are worse for the economy than Democrats. The problem is that economies are slow moving things and the impact of a government really isn't fully seen until they're out of office. The economy is good in the states now, thanks to the previous president. Trumps moronic course of action won't really hit home unitl he's out of office. Just in time for the Republicans to get up in arms about the democrats having a shitty economy! It works cause people are stupid.

  14. I think 2nd would have been very attainable... if Mike Reilly hadn't gifted* Sask their 10th win yesterday... In fairness to Willie Jefferson, it was a great play... I just don't ever give credit where credit is due when it comes to the riders...

There's been much worse stuff happen in boxing than what we saw this weekend. They've always been allowed back. The only thing that really bothered me was the guy who came in from the crowd and punched McGregor. That could have been so much worse.

  17. As much as I hate the Riders I saw it different. Thought it was too close to call. Jefferson is a beast. Guy you hate but would gladly take on your team.

  21. White had 3 brutal drops in the 2nd preseason game. He played his way off the roster and into the final cuts. He certainly didn't play well enough to surpass a veteran free agent signing. If you think Bowman's spot was up for grabs in pre-season you are deluded. White lost to Thompkins, rightfully so. Hasn't done jack for the Argos either.

  22. Guy lines up ar half back, teams put their best receivers in the slot, and you wonder why the half backs get targeted more? Every db gets beat at times, but Alexander has been a really good player for us this year. For my money he's been the best, though a late charge from sayles makes it close.

  23. What's wrong with the scheme there? You have a DB in perfect position to make a play on a field out. That's as good as it gets. You aren't going to bracket that route from the opposite hash. That's the 2nd hardest throw for the QB to make after the flag route to the same side of the field.

  24. Alexander is usually up against the teams best receiver at boundary HB.

  25. Alexander has been excellent this season and his play is really underrated. I’d argue he’s one of our best DBs and losing him would be a blow.

  26. I suppose you could say there’s an element of luck that the Bombers weren’t playing Montreal in Montreal and the pass didn’t hit one of their gullls that are flying around. Thats pretty lucky..

You can post whatever the **** you want- just don't obfuscate your partisian alt-right agenda with lamenting the divisiveness while simultaneously contributing to it. It's dishonest and insulting. I never talked about ending the divisiveness- that's your shtick. I'm all for holding the current fuckers to account for all the **** the pull on the people. And trump- that ******* has got to be held to account or my faith in people will be lost.

  30. Interesting interview with Harvey explaining his comments. http://3downnation.com/2018/10/08/lions-gm-ed-hervey-explains-comments-about-jennings-calls-agents-response-cute-colourful-and-amusing/ Still don’t think these things should be said in the media regardless of if you are answering a question honestly. Some things are best kept behind closed doors.

  32. Don't really see a ton of hope for Manziel. Not doing anything well in a consistent way. The odd prayer answered, I don't know if you can build an offense on that, I guess to some degree Maas and Reilly have. Clearly the Als can't score even when they put up a few plays and yards.

  34. Brian brohm, nick grigsby, romby bryant, ejiro kuale, nuefeld, sam hurl x2, lin-j shell, addison richards, ryan smith, shologan, Macho harris, Rock carmichael, bowman etc, The list is soo ridiculously long I dont have to prove the point. It makes it self very clearly, only you seem to be clinging to the opposition of it, so reverse onus. hes kicked around and stuck with teams that had among the deepest wr talent in the league. Its almost like jacksons out put has scaled up with a drastic increase in play time and use hmmm... Hes primarily a return man. Givens didnt report to camp after awful miss management the previous year. White out played and performed bowman easily. Cant say he was given a fair shake in camps when the best player doesnt win a spot at the position, see DL this tc. He was brought in, we threw to him what three times? Thats not an opportunity.

  35. I think they’re playing it straight. If they go right back to mirror twist it becomes a bit of a parody. They already have mirror Phillipa running around. Plus he’d have to have been mirror on the enterprise since we know the enterprise, Pike & Number One are all in this season. I think it’s just that he’s been out of civilization for awhile so his hair and beard grew. Probably to make for a visual contrast from when we first see him (sort of disguised behind the beard and hair) and when he cleans up and we see him for the first time in uniform looking like classic Spock.

Luck has nothing to do with it. The ball didn’t glance off someone’s helmet or hand or goalpost. Dressler ran a route to help his QB. He’s a pro. It worked. It was there. Bravo Nichols..Bravo Dressler

  45. Sorry Dude - but no matter what slant you try and put on things - IMHO Richie Hall needs to exit stage right after this year. And sorry yet again but the Calgary Stamps organization is something the Bomber organization should try and aspire to. They are the top organization in the CFL as of today - Nice try though!
