Man are you spinning to fit your narrative, and this post just shows how biased you are on Nichols. It was a great play. When a QB and receiver hook up to make a play like that, let them celebrate however they want. Was a great play, was great to see the team and Nichols pumped to do it.

Matt Nichols doesn't have a 300 yard game Well - we run the ball, a lot, we lead the league in all-purpose rushing yards (1,979, 2nd is SSK with 1,608). We're also 1st in rushing attempts (348, 2nd SSK with 318) Nichols never throws TD passes He has 15 TDs (5th in league), and the Bombers run the ball often in the red zone, his lower TD pass total is attributable to the fact we lead the league in rushing TDs (19, 2nd is TOR with 16). Also he has only played 13 of 16 games due to injury this year. Nichols can't throw deep Can't, or LaPo just doesn't call for it? We are dead last in team attempts of 20+ yards (70, most is CGY with 115), but to be honest, besides Adams, who is our deep threat? As for being unable to throw them - his completion % is 30.8%, Reilly on the other hand is 42.0% (best is actually Masoli with 46.7%), Our offense leads the league in scoring and TD's and is 2nd to only EDM in 1st downs (339 vs 336) and you're calling for the head of the guy who runs it? I don't understand how Nichols draws such criticism and ire from his own fan base, especially after we hang 31 points on arguably one of the better defensive units in the league.

If that's his silly walk then he needs to apply for more funding.

You can't have it both ways, all you are doing is proving your bias against Nichols.

We win 31-0 and the trolls are worried about HOW Nichols celebrated a 72-yard TD pass. On the list. Can't even spell his name right.

The word "hate" sure does get tossed around a lot now-a-days. It has caught up to "love" as a word that is overused to the point where it has lost all meaning and significance. I mean, c'mon...Do I hate Nichols because I point out that his strutting seemed silly considering he had a 72 yard TD pass to Adams in the first quarter yet ended that quarter with 71 yards passing? Or that he only completed 10 passes in 3 quarters for 155 yards? Except for the interception Streveler had basically the same numbers as Nichols and is a rookie. Shouldn't we be expecting more from a seasoned vet? Nichols has come across as an emotional basket case this year...and that's not "hate" talking...it's just a simple examination of the facts with a bit of opinion tossed in. Why people take some of this stuff personally is beyond me.

I think the bigger problem is that almost all of our long shots are targeted to Darvin Adams... for those who haven't noticed... Darvin can't win a jump ball to save his life... catch him in stride, sure he'll make the play... but don't expect him to win a 50/50 ball... I'd like to see some jump balls thrown to Kenbrall Thompkins... I know it's a small sample size but he won a perfect 50/50 ball in pre-season action... and he would've never lasted 5 years in the NFL without having that ability...

I can't stand cocky backup quarterbacks who produce 18 TD's (10 pass, 8 rush) in limited action.......

And there is nothing wrong with Strevelers arm strength..not sure where you think he doesnt have the arm to be a starter. Just because he has a different mechanics to it..he is a classic short arm/wrist passer...which has more benefits than hindrances. Isnt a classic shoulder..wind it up passer..so a quicker release and can let it go from all different types of scenarios and positions on field.. quick release and less biomechanics to get in a throwing funk...and less chance for injury..and can easily get it off when scrambling and on the run more accurately. Sure he wont have the longest toss in the league..but he can get it out quicker and with just as much velocity in all the higher percentage throws.. and the 15 to 45 yard strikes...he just needs seasoning and learn the nuances of the bigger field and what works where and when and what to look for to prevent int's like last game.

The point is he's pissed off Nichols threw a beauty bomb and showed some swagger afterwards. How will Big Chris get on the field if Nichols does stuff like that? It's not fair and Nichols accomplishments and being proud of them is a personal insult to people who don't like Nichols.

Next year you take Dressler's and possibly Opo's and Neufs salary off your books...you add 30k or so to Bighills 185k..throw like 175k at Chungh now most likely as this be his 3rd deal and prob is in the 120-130k range...if that....so you have about 65-75k needed to re-up them...so technically not bringing Dressler back more than covers their bump in pay...Opo could be resigned...and most likely for less I bet if we want him, and Neufeld still has a year left I believe anyway on a rather moderate 140k a year I believe...which is good value for a National O-lineman of his tenure/skill I see no reason's to not be able to sign who we want to bring back...if they want to be here...I'm not too worried about the free agent period this year and losing key people

First of all Bighill will cost them but its not going to be outrageous he wont hold them over the coals to get the most money. I think he really likes it hear and if they want to compete he needs to properly compensated but nothing crazy.

Cause no one is complaining that Gaitor celebrated his TD. No one is complaining that Streveler celebrated his TD. ETC ETC ETC. It's fine to not like a player, and Nichols certainly deserved his criticism this year. But complaining about his TD celebration or his lack of huge numbers in a blow out win is stupid.

I could see BC throwing a lot of money at Chung. But I hope Walters locks him up!

I'm assuming this is why Walters didn't go after other guys (i.e. Chris Matthews)...he likely gave Gray a nice signing bonus which counts against 2018 cap. Anyways...O -line could be strong for years to come.

Time to trade Hellebuyck and go get a top young center to play with Laine and Ehlers.

We got smashed in that game though. To me, the regrettable games are the ones that we could have won if not for one or two mistakes. The BC loss and the Banjo Bowl are at the top of that list for me.

Nichols was good in this game. You really have to remember that from the very get go it was clear that the Riders offence was not going to do much, they damned near threw a pick 6 on the first play and then the defense did get a score and the offense followed it up with the bomb to Adams, and then the next times they got into scoring range they put Streveler in for their change of pace and got TDs out of that. That does take away the potential for Nichols to pad the stats. The guy did what he needed to do. Didn't make any stupid throws, moved the ball a bit when he had to, showed some confidence and swagger and took a 31 point lead into half time, after which the Bombers just shut it down completely and took 0 risks knowing it was already in the bag.

Because you're pig headed stubborn about your hatred for Nichols. You can deny it all you like, but bottom line you got a beef with Nichols for whatever reason and you won't give him credit for anything and will do all sorts of mental gymnastics to convince yourself you are 100% correct.

I'm pretty sure that strut was aimed at Willy Jefferson and was intentionally mocking his strut from the B.B. debacle. As I understand it they are actually friends from their time together in Edm., so none of this should be taken very seriously. It was good to see Nichols shed his bout of mid-season gloom.

Bomber D closing on receivers and making sure tackles..... Medlock with some nice punting...ST's with good coverage.... Collaros completing some balls.....but not going through reads.... Lots of jaw-jaw between Blue receivers and Rider D..... Loffler actually looks like centerfielder....as he picks off bad ZC throw, deep Couple of Harris runs.....gets it to Rider 15..... Naturally we get an incomplete pass, then a sack... Medlock pops 30 yd FG....Bombers 17-0... For his size...Sayles does some thumping out there..... Hall still running lots of blitz packages, again.... Collaros getting pressured....and looking shaky.... Thompkins catches for FD....Harris runs for another 9... Streveler on 2nd and short …rears up and throws down the middle... ...where only Dressler can get it....with a nice diving catch in the end zone... 30 yd TD. 24-0. Turning into nightmare half for the Riders.... Bartel getting outkicked by Medlock, Blue getting good field position.... Nichols completes passes to Demski and Wolitarsky…… Streveler then runs sneak and barges his way up the gut, for 25....to Rider 1 QB sneak on next play.....Bombers simply tuning up the Riders now Banjo Bowl stench has finally dissipated ….now 31 to nothing, in first half.... Blue get standing ovation from crowd, as time runs out..... Collaros starting the 2nd half.....to the surprise of many..... Bighill blows into Rider backfield to sack ZC..... Bridge finally comes in at QB....promptly sacked by Gaitor….. Wolitarsky looking more and more... like an ace inside receiver... Bridge scrambling 25 yds back of line of scrimmage, but gets off nice bomb... ….to Shaw, who like most of the Riders receivers, today...can't catch a cold... Nichols is done.....Streveler will take it from here...Harris actually being rested also... Loffler really ranging around there, in this one.... Bighill chases down Bridge, with some tremendous pursuit...… Sayles having another strong game, back there..... Bridge has a terrific arm....but with no clue what he is doing out there..... Both teams still smacking on D....just punts going back and forth, now.... Bridge to Holley, who is stripped by Fogg....who also recovers the fumble... ….capping off a miserable afternoon for Rider receiving corps..... This Bryant at DT can ball, some....surprising quickness. Bombers get it back with 2.5 minutes left....and just grind out the clock …..to preserve the 31-0 shutout. Bombers needed that game more.....and played like it I needed the gin, just as much....and drank like it.

So, you'd take a 350 yard 3 TD performance with a loss over what Nichols did yesterday? C'mon man. That's not true & you know it. I wouldn't. Mike Reilly will get to over 5,000 yds passing & his team is in last place.

That Streveler run was almost identical to Nichols run last year in the 41-40 1:40 comeback win against Montreal in the dying seconds of the game whilst Nichols was in a pressure cooker.

I would love to see a QB throw Matt Nichols for around 200 yards... that guy would have to have one hell of an arm.

The way I look at it as I am pleased with the teams performance and the win..in its totality.. could care less about who did what..how they got it done..and just acted like class doing it. Plain and simple...football is ultimate team game and many factors play into a win. That being said I like how we celebrate things and dont look like jack asses doing it...be pretty hard to argue that if the game was reversed and the Riders di that to us. The stupid mugging for the camera ..over the top celebrating and the general foolishness they show would have been sickening.. many think Carter was the straw that stirred that drink but they are the same bunch of assbags as they ever were.. if not worse and in MY experience that is a team with no real leaders..and no internal babysitting..just a bunch of individuals looking for face time and personal accomplishments.. not a true team
