I think this is shaping to be one of the most interesting post seasons in the past decade The parity and the variables, plus two legit teams from the East, should make some excellent playoff football

  10. I still don't get why people live like this. I carry a mortgage (with a good chunk of equity), and an LOC for an emergency. Charge everything to my cards and pay it off in full every month. Agressively paying down the mortgage and choosing not to have all the toys now (buy a car 2-3 years old instead of new so someone else can pay the depreciation), then drive it into the ground. Easiest way to retire is have no mortgage. By the time you've paid off your mortgage your housing costs are dirt cheap --- utilities / insurance and maybe property tax, which honestly a small pension can cover. Even if you work part time, you can survive on way less than normal. We're in an age though where everyone wants instant gratification. $1000 cell phones and $100 plans. $90 internet. Come on... find the cheaper route and make it work and then live like a hog when everyone is struggling to retire.

  11. One last thing: If BC beats Saskatchewan by exactly 3 points this week, they will still need to beat Calgary by 13 points or more (and avoid a 3-way tie scenario involving Winnipeg) to pass Saskatchewan for 2nd place.

  13. This is the situation.... Riders 11 -6, Bombers 9-7, Lions 9-7 .....hmmmm 😉 I predict the Riders will beat the Lions this weekend...Riders 12-6, Lions 9-8 as a result. The Bombers will beat the Stamps this weekend...Bombers 10-7, Stamps 12-5 as a result. The following week, the Stamps will have to show some momentum going into the playoffs. They will beat the Lions and they will be the crossover team no doubt. Our Bombers can put in the practice squad against the Eskimos that weekend and rest the starters. Playoff Predictions: West - Bombers over the Riders, Bombers over the Stamps. East - Hamilton over the Lions, RedBlacks over the Hamilton. Grey Cup Results Bombers 34 RedBlacks 14 And I can do the Canadian Dance Moves I found online after our Grey Cup Victory!!!!!

  14. That is fair, but I am still going to ***** about it being a cash grab and that the original reason and justifications for traffic lights and those camera cars was a provision that they would only be deployed around construction signs, community centres and schools for the safety of workers and kids.... 😁

There are white people, millions of them, in the states, who think of themselves as oppressed by the blacks, Hispanics,, liberals, Yankees,, etc. It would be funny if it wasn't so horrible. These are the only people Trump can communicate with.

Speed, People don't need credit because everything is expensive. People can choose what to use and whatnot. Ignoring the obvious socio-economic factors that minimum wage, etc could impact, I'm referring to middle of the road, blue collar / white collar jobs, sub 100K salary (let's say 50K even). We run our house with a tight ship. If we need it today it's an emergency, otherwise we buy when it's on sale, or order from amazon to save money. We plan trips around timings that cost less, watch for seat sales, etc. We don't shop high end grocery stores --- we watch the flyers and buy bulk. It's afforded us to literally buy organic for the important stuff (milk, fruits, veggies), and buy quality meats, because we buy half a cow at a time, or we buy in bulk with other friends. If you saw our income you'd be shocked how we manage. We run a tight ship, but it's a choice. We still take family vacations, we still do sports, we still do everything else, but what we don't do is $5 coffees every day, $40 ATM withdrawals for random expenses we can't track, etc. If we have clutter that we don't need, we sell it on kijiji. If we're doing a reno, we manage it ourselves and hunt down the trades ourselves. Yes, I deal with the same taxes you do. Honestly I work with probably 150+ clients (personal and business) and see the difference between those who are intentional, and those who run paycheque to paycheque. Those who run paycheque to paycheque don't think about how they're spending --- I see it on their bank statements. Liquor stores, constant fast food, etc. Yes I'm generalising, but my experience has shown that the middle class if they manage their "home" right (barring the rare emergency) can save, spend less, still live a good life, and retire reasonably comfortably. Walmart is still walmart. You can still buy reasonably priced goods. Value village has great clothing at affordable prices. The average middle class family, with middle class income, shouldn't have a problem living if they are *INTENTIONAL* about how they manage their finances. I would argue this one until I'm blue in the teeth. Sorry.

The test wouldn't be expensive, Bowman has spent millions on studies (without him wanting to publish the results because they were all pro No). Monday it took me 5 minutes to clear downtown and then yesterday 30 minutes both days with no accidents, street work or stalls... if I have to now wait 45 minutes to get home it puts a lot stress when you are a family man needing to pick up kids from day care and then going home and getting dinner ready and then taking the kids out to their activities. My free time is extremely limited and valuable and it's a real piss off waiting in traffic for absolutely no good reason when if the city was smart they could have a proper traffic flow to get people in and out in 5 minutes. You may one day understand if you ever decide to have children and a family because back in the day when it was just me I wouldn't of cared because I had all the time in the world to do whatever I needed to do. I don't think it's just me because the other people in the office with younger children are all constantly on the go trying to keep up with life.

  27. I think the cross over is alittle different for the Bombers. They used to play in the east so it was a regular way to get to the cup. Travel is not really a issue being in the middle of the country.

  29. I have not felt positive going into any meaningful game against the Stamps in the last 5 years or so...but this time is different. We can win this game. In fact, I expect us to win. We are playing better than the Stamps right now. It's time Bombers, to take the next step in your progression on Friday, and really take it to the Stampeders.

  30. Do we really need to pull out his playoff stats for you yet again? Nichols wasn’t the reason we haven’t won in the playoffs. Our defense was painfully bad.

  31. Was Nichols resting up last season at the end or was he hurt ? ........These last two games are Nichols chance to morph into a game changer as a QB, and to lose the game manager moniker he has been labeled with in his career. Game managing is really not enough to get a grey cup win........
    1 point
  32. Thing is..if we win out..and bc wins out then we would all be tied at 11-7 and relegated to a cross over spot..which is crazy with and 11-7 record That being said we gotta win 2 games if we get in to get to cup anyway so dont care where it has to be played. With the east u may get benefit of playing in better weather so shouldn't be a factor in a game and the distance to the east..vs the west for travel is really insignificant to be honest
    1 point
  33. Agreed. The simulation is predicting based on how we are playing that we will win the next two games (shows us 11-7) and then storm through to the GC. AMusing. Not even looking past friday. Too many moving parts. We control our destiny, but one win at a time please.

  36. 1. Ottawa needs one win to clinch top spot, or one Hamilton loss. In their head-to-head game, a tie will also clinch top spot for Ottawa. 2. Hamilton needs a win against Ottawa, AND a win and Ottawa loss or tie in the final week's games, or a tie and an Ottawa loss in the final week's games, to claim top spot. 2. Calgary needs one tie in their last 2 games to clinch top spot in the West. They can finish no lower than second. 3. Saskatchewan needs a win and 2 Calgary losses to clinch top spot. They need a win, a tie, or a loss by less than 3 points in their game against BC, or a BC loss or tie in their game against Calgary in the final week, to clinch 2nd place. In the event of a 3 way tie with Winnipeg and BC at season's end (they lose to BC, and Winnipeg and BC win all of their other games), they will finish 2nd. They can finish no lower than 3rd. 4. Winnipeg needs a tie in their last 2 games to clinch a playoff spot and eliminate Edmonton. They need any combination of wins and BC losses totalling 2 to clinch 3rd place (not considering any tied game scenarios), provided there is no 3 way tie involving Saskatchewan at season's end. They can finish no better than 3rd. 5. BC needs a win over Saskatchewan by 4 or more points and a win in their other game to finish 2nd, provided there is no 3 way tie with Winnipeg at season's end (in that event, they will finish 3rd). Not considering tied games or the 3 way tie scenario, they will need any combination of wins or Winnipeg losses totalling 3 to clinch 3rd. they can finish no lower than 4th. 6. Edmonton needs a win and 2 Winnipeg losses to make the playoffs. They can finish no better than 4th, regardless of any 3 way tie scenarios.

You can retire from you fifth company at 50. That leaves you only 35 years to go until you can retire from work altogether. A tip: Have lots of kids. It may hurt the pocket book now but it will provide many places to live in the future. One of them is bound to appreciate your hard work and provide you a room in the basement.

And the engineering study said that allowing pedestrians would have a relatively minor impact on traffic, but you seem to think you are smarter than the experts. If you want to bring common sense into the equation, would common sense also say that in a major urban centre, we should ignore efficient modes of transportation like walking and cycling and prioritize private automobiles, which are infinitely more expensive at both the personal (ownership, maintenance, fuel) and public (infrastructure) levels? Would common sense say that we should spend money to re-construct the barricades (after they are removed to fix the roof of Winnipeg Square) in order to save rush hour commuters a couple of minutes (if that)? Remember, 85% of the time on weekdays and 100% of the time on weekends there is no traffic congestion at that intersection at all, so why would we close it to pedestrians 100% of the time? In regards to traffic light synchronization, the city will adjust the lights as best they can, but it isn't like two freeways are intersecting and that intersection is the only hang-up. I've almost never turned left from Portage on to Main without subsequently having to stop at McDermot. Same with turning right and then stopping at Pioneer. Synchronization is easy when you only have to prioritize traffic on one street. Throw in a second major route and everyone trying to use the network at once and it won't be perfect. You might *gasp* have to wait a bit.
