    Thank you, Marc Trestman

also after basically being ignored for about the first 3 or 4 games after Nichols came back from injury...I see him as a legit 1000 yard guy next year, and a high percentage guy on second down conversions...proved to be pretty clutch in last 3rd of season

  3. If you don't like someone (the metaphorical "you", this comment is not directed at you @SpeedFlex27)... just ignore or block them... some people are starting to sounds like RF mods the way they scream "TROLL" every time someone has a dissenting opinion...

  4. i'll take those fines every week...that o-line takes no sit...and has everyones back...watching them run over and through the riders..especially in that 4th quarter and hear them just chirping away at them was a thing of beauty...especially with the beaking off the Riders did pre game out at the mid field area in warm-ups...u can catch some of it on CFLWired

  7. I'd wait and buy them closer to the game. I know people who go every year, and unless the home team (or the Riders) is in the game, they buy on game day. They always pay well under face value.

  8. He would defend it from the perspective that Jeffcoat didn't do it on purpose, and tried to lay in a good legal hit. Believes it will be fined because it turned into a hit to the head which can't be denied.

  12. This isn't about prevention, it's about repercussions. It doesn't stop the head shot, just applies a penalty afterwards. Since that's the case, why not just let the eye in the sky, that can review multiple angles, do it. Does it change anyone's behaviour?

  13. League adds official for headshots . Because it's CFL officiating we're dealing with here.... This guarantees a headshot will be called late in a game. Will set up a score especially in a low scoring game. Will be instrumental in the game's outcome. Replay will be shown over and over and everyone will say "that's a headshot"??? League will ignore outrage. "We erred on the side of caution. We believe in player safety" Media will pretend they had nothing to with ginning up panic on headshots and shaming Ambrosie into an overreaction. Media will attack officiating for ruining a game with a bad call. The "problem" remains a problem.

  14. I thought they already had a spotter spotting concussions. Cant he be the one also calling head shots? I get that he is not physically on the field but he has a clear view of everything. Can they not call down and make a suggestion.

  15. Where is this ref going to be positioned? If they see an egregious hold or illegal block they can’t call it? Just when you think they couldn’t get any stupider.

  16. To appease the fans in Sask. this extra official will be wearing green stripes.

  17. Another incompetent ref on the field? Oh good. Ambrosie is really ruining the good will he had coming into the position. People are losing their jobs, they're apparently playing games in Mexico, the reffing is getting worse and Montreal and Toronto remain jokes but now we're going to put a ref on the field who's sole job is to look for head shots on the QB? Well, I guess they'll need to justify their existence and call a few. Maybe Halifax will get a team. That should improve the product and reffing.

  18. It's similar in some respects to IGF but very different in many ways. My (scattered) observations: I was on the East Side, wayyy up, third from last row. @trueBlue83 sat behind me. We seemed pretty far away but it didn't impair our enjoyment. I've never sat that high at IGF but this seemed much further back. In fact, the entire upper deck was much further back. Seemed steeper too. IGF is feels more intimate overall. The rows go down super close to the field at Mosaic. Much lower than IGF. I would hate to sit in the front row because you wouldn't be able to see much. It was definitely quieter at Mosaic. Partly due to the cold weather (and having mitts on their hands) and partly, it seemed as though they were distracted. The crowd barely reacted to plays. Not sure why. Also, I didn't have many people behind me, so maybe it just seemed quieter. Just like IGF, the East Side sucks - it was filled with Rider fans. We were sheltered from the wind and covered, so stayed very comfortable all game. We dressed very warmly and had unzip our jackets a few times to cool down a bit. They seats were really narrow and seemed cheap. I was thankful, with all my warm gear on, that no one was sitting next to me or I would have felt way to squished. The screen at the south end is very large and clear. From our seats, we couldn't clearly see the screen in the north east corner. No biggie. Didn't really care for their announcer. He seemed bored. Their ramp to the upper levels was narrow. Honestly, I felt cramped because I'm used to IGF, but it's probably better that way. It would have cost them less and allowed for more room within the stadium. No on field shenanigans. They kept all their promotions in the stands. Not sure it matters, just an observation. The concourse on the upper East side was nice and wide. Lots of more room to move around. Also, when the sun was up, it made it seem much lighter up there. IGF seems really dark, day or night. But, a fan said to me when I made that observation, that it also created a big wind tunnel. The service was FARRRR better there. Much quicker and didn't seem confused with every order I made. I also observed that the staff were much older too. The concourses on the lower level were sheltered from the field, as has been mentioned lots, so you wouldn't be able to see the game from there. Hence, more people in seats. I prefer the social elements of IGF. Where IGF has all sorts of booths and stands that jet into the upper concourses, they have everything recessed. That makes things easier to move around but they didn't have tables to eat at. I'll take the Mosaic layout and space over the cramped feeling of IGF. They have a good beer menu. Tall boy Heinekens were on $10. They had Blue Moon beer advertised at $9/can but I paid $8. I don't remember much else, sorry. One bathroom on the upper East Side. Seemed really big but the line was slow at halftime. I prefer having multiple at IGF. But just like IGF, you have to constantly tell people that there are more toilets around the corner. Bus system is less efficient than IGF now. With the corridor, IGF has them beat. But, I would say their system is better than what we had before the corridor opened. They probably didn't love our "And that is another Winnipeg...First Down!" chant. But hey, it's was a fun way for us to connect with the other Bomber fans there. Again, though, I noticed how quiet their crowd was. Most importantly, the crowd was very friendly and fun. We had a great time and won't hesitate to go back. Tried really hard to be respectful. One or two fans tried to goad us but we just played it super friendly. EDIT: Forgot to add... Their scoreboard does not show team stats during the game. I found that annoying. IGF is not entirely reliable but it does update. Nothing at Mosaic and I missed it. I didn't want to pull out my phone to check the stats all the time.

  22. Never mind, it use to annoy the **** out of me how many times our QB's would get NO help from their Olineman when getting off the turf. Or an opponent would stand over Buck or talk **** on their way by, and not a single OL took exception. Drove me crazy for years. I longed for the day a Bomber OL would get a penalty for smacking someone who took a cheap shot at a bomber

  24. Well, we used to have an OL that placed a heavy emphasis on helping the QB.....like yelling "look out!" as often as possible, and never failing to help our QB's up off the ground, after yet another sack. This current crew just takes no mess, from anyone, anytime.....

  25. Good. Glad he's dwelling on that game. Perhaps it means the Bombers defense is occupying space rent-free in his head.

  26. A really great read. Wolitarsky comes across as humble and grateful for the chance to play a game he loves. He does look a lot like Matthew McConaghy is the movie "Reign of Fire", though.

  28. It is about changing behavior. and Yes it will change behaviour. Takes a while for some players to change. but they do. Looks like Micah Awe has stopped head shots. It'll take a while, but the intentional head shots will stop. Maybe they will also use the sky camera. This is something that has been a part of football for decades. Not long ago, these kind of hits were celebrated, and put on highlight reels.Jack Tatum etc. gloating players standing over the prone concussed player. Not going to change in a year.

  29. Media driven drama. All,this from a league who can't get pass interference right.

  30. Yeah, this whole idea thrown together at the last minute seems terrible. It is destined for failure, and you know they will be watching the team (the Bombers) that was the final straw in all of this that much closer. I fully expect us to get screwed by this on Sunday. Also, they are only watching the QB? Why? That is so stupid. If you put a spotter up there, allow him to call headshots on receivers or RBs too. Or just have the command center do it. God, this is all so dumb.

  31. I'm very glad they did this, should definitely help make players that are inclined to take head shots, stop doing it. Anything they can do to help stop head shots, is good. Ejection is what I want to see for the worst of it. I think it's odd that people are so critical. Very small, way to look at it. Slow down the game? so what. We are talking about brain damage, who gives a crap if this slows the game down, or results in a couple of questionable penalties. I also disagree that Ambrosie is doing a bad job. reffing is a problem in every single sports league in the world. Our guys for the most part do a decent job.

    US Politics

Not to mention one of the reasons he's President today is because the FBI did investigate Hilary and made that bone head announcement right before the election. Had Comey given the same respect to the election as Mueller (by going dark during the election), its very likely she's President today. Of course, Comey was pushed into it by Trump supporters in the New York FBI office, controlled by Rudy.

  35. no...it's a great thing....both stadiums have their things that are better than each other...but in regards to seating..acoustics..football feel/atmosphee..IGF blows it away

  36. Cynical. That’s what word comes to mind. Fans complain on what’s going on at field level and when the league jumps on the problem..more complaints. So, they contact all nine teams and get feedback, and come up with an interim solution until the off season, and still it’s not enough? I’d be more worried if the problem was ignored.

  37. Been there twice. Feels like you're sitting a million miles away in the stands compared to IGF. Just saps the energy imo. Concessions are much better at Mosaic, but IGF is a MUCH better venue to watch a football game. Only problem with Mosaic is they don't have any good beer and you feel like you're watching through binos from the parking lot. Seats are very narrow too. They also have similar rapid transit problems to IGF.
