  1. Darren Cameron‏Verified account @Darren_Cameron #Bombers have re-signed DE Jackson Jeffcoat to two-year extension. Jeffcoat was to be a free agent next month. Over two seasons in Winnipeg (28 games), he’s recorded 12 sacks, 57 defensive tackles, one INT & three forced fumbles. Recorded four sacks in two playoff games in 2018.

  3. Saying Lapo is very upset creates far more clicks than saying he was mildly disappointed. I don't believe that Farjan had any conversation with Lapo while he was in Kansas yesterday, and I believe whoever fed him this info, he took it and blew it up for reasons of readership.

  4. Lapo held hostage. Day 2. We're firing up the tractors and headed to Manitoba in order to rescue Lapolice from his incarceration. Hopefully, we'll find someone who can read a map and someone with a compass.

  5. I am kinda scared. Stronson has it on good authority from his multitude of inside sources that Lapo is going to quit and take a year off, he is so mad. We all know that Stronson is not a fan forum member, he is a super secret CFL spy that knows everything going on behind the scenes of every club. I totally agree with your take. January 20 is way too late in the game for teams to be replacing coordinators without weakening themselves greatly. Not sure why the Rider fans feel the Bombers are obligated to let Lapo possibly go at this stage of the game. Just because Craig Reynolds was too stupid to put a drop dead date on Jones leaving doesn't mean we have to be equally as dumb.

  6. I'm surprised Oday was dumb enough to ask..."hey division rival, can we steal one of your coaches a few weeks before some really big moves will be made by every team?" Wtf did he expect. Riders are getting exactly what they asked for.

Rudy Giuliani can’t keep his story straight as he tries to defend President Donald Trump’s increasingly suspicious entanglement with Russia. Just last week, Giuliani raised red flags when he signaled that members of Trump’s campaign might have, after all, colluded with the Russian government as a part of its efforts to interfere in the 2016 election. He claimed that this wasn’t a change from his previous claims of “no collusion,” but it was. He then tried to backpedal from his new claim, saying he wasn’t aware of any collusion by the campaign. Then, after a bombshell BuzzFeed News report said that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had evidence Trump directed his attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress, Giuliani slammed the report, and Mueller issued a vague response calling parts of the story “not accurate.” This seemed like a major boon for the Trump team — they quickly used it to attack the media and its Russia reporting more generally. But on Sunday, Giuliani ended up bolstering the BuzzFeed report by saying that Trump may have spoken to Cohen about his congressional testimony before it happed — testimony which Cohen later admitted was a criminal lie — and said, “And so what if he talked to him about it?” Of course, the problem is that if the president knew Cohen was going to give intentionally false testimony, he could be complicit in the crime and possibly guilty on a similar charge. In light of these facts, Giuliani changed his story yet again on Monday, telling the New York Daily News, “The president never spoke with Cohen about the congressional testimony.” Renato Mariotti, a former federal prosecutor, told the Daily News that it wouldn’t necessarily be a problem if Trump and Cohen’s lawyers had contact ahead of the testimony, as Giuliani now claims. “But it would be highly unusual for those attorneys to discuss potential false testimony by Cohen and do nothing to stop Cohen or correct the record, given that it would be unethical and potentially criminal,” Mariotti told the outlet. “The question, then, is whether they discussed the false testimony in advance and knew at the time that it was false.” Mariotti added on Twitter: “That didn’t take long. [Giuliani] already walked back his suggestion that Trump discussed Cohen’s false testimony to Congress with him in advance.” And with regard to the actual negotiations with Russian officials during the 2016 campaign to build a Trump Tower Moscow, the narrative is evolving and contradictory as well. On Sunday, we learned this: The Trump Tower Moscow discussions were “going on from the day I announced to the day I won,” Mr. Giuliani quoted Mr. Trump as saying during an interview with The New York Times. But on Monday, Giuliani had completed reversed himself without acknowledging the contradiction: "My recent statements about discussions during the 2016 campaign between Michael Cohen and then-candidate Donald Trump about a potential Trump Moscow ‘project’ were hypothetical and not based on conversations I had with the President. My comments did not represent the actual timing or circumstances of any such discussions. The point is that the proposal was in the earliest stage and did not advance beyond a free non-binding letter of intent." Giuliani also raised a new red flag on Monday, telling CNN that Trump’s legal team reached out to Mueller’s office after the BuzzFeed report was published but before the response had been issued — raising questions about whether Trump inappropriately intervened in the investigation’s operations. All of this raises serious questions about the BuzzFeed report that, while it is now being treated with high levels of skepticism due to the special counsel’s statement, is still being defended by the news organization. Why would Giuliani suggest that Trump was indeed in contact with Cohen about the testimony, and then quickly backtrack? Why would he reveal that he was apparently trying to influence that special counsel’s reaction to the story, even when this looks to be on its face inappropriate? Why is Trump still unable to answer basic questions about Trump Tower Moscow? It remains difficult to accept the BuzzFeed article as a whole — but Giuliani’s scattershot reaction and shifting story suggest that it’s still worth taking seriously.

  11. From Kelly Moore on twitter (copied/pasted to spare you guys on mobile): -DE Jackson Jeffcoat told reporters during a media conference call that being wanted by @Wpg_BlueBombers was a factor in his signing a two year extension and foregoing CFL free agency. -Jeffcoat says he "thought" he had something going with Cincinnati- only to receive a call personally from the Bengals because they did not have contact info for his agent- who has since been fired. -By the time he hired a new representative, he was more or less going to be training camp fodder. So he got in touch with Mike O'Shea, and then Kyle Walters. Numbers started getting tossed around about a month ago, -And then negotiations took on a more serious tone over the last couple of weeks, leading to this morning's announcement. Jeffcoat says the Bombers are close, but he's not interested in being close. -And he sees Wpg as his best chance to win a championship for the first time since at least middle school. Sounds like we are lucky he slipped through the cracks. Glad he's back in the fold.

  12. A good way to prove that is ask yourself if you took the best player off of every NHL team how would they fare? Out of the 31 teams, I say Edmonton would struggle the most.

  14. If Riderfans want to be mad at someone they should be mad at Jones for leaving them high and dry, or Reynolds for negotiating such a stupid contract that allowed this to happen.....that doesn't fit the narrative of the moderation over there though. They've been selling Jones and Reynolds as the Riders saviors for so long now that this puts them in quite the bind. But like any experienced fan forum member they will instead create the Bomber bogeyman to distract the membership at large from realizing how grossly incorrect the Jonestown fan club really were.

  15. Here's something I don't see being discussed a lot. As has been mentioned the planning for FA has been underway for a while. Lapo is obviously a part of that, he likely knows the $$ amount the bombers are wanting to extend to each target. However part of the bombers plan for negotiating with FAs is to explain how said FA will work in their current Offensive system. So in giving Lapo to another team, not only are you losing an OC, but you're also giving a division rival important information on your FA plans, while also leaving behind a tool you're going to use to sway FAs over to you. Sure Lapo might be mad, that's understandable I guess (though I don't see how any reasonable person could be THAT upset about it). But allowing him to walk could turn out to be very drastic for this team, especially during an off season that is going very well for a Bomber team that has positioned itself to have a pretty successful season.

  16. The reality is that it's just too late in the game, despite what people say, to let OC's go and replace them. The REDBLACKS and the Bombers have nothing against their people advancing, not do they have anything against the Riders, they just have to look out for their own team's well being. They have a FA game plan to deploy soon and a fan base to answer to.

  17. 👁‍🗨Tony Romo love. The guy can pre-dissect a play, can’t he? 👁‍🗨Officiating is officiating. Gonna make mistakes. But wow, brutal playoff officiating in the NFL this year. 👁‍🗨Besides having that rinky-dinky touchback rule on kickoffs, is there a worse overtime format in any league? 👁‍🗨Is LaPolice lapissed off by being denied the Sask experience? Yes. And maybe justifiably so. But that is counter balanced by the Bombers being justified in not allowing a Sask interview. Kind of late for an overhaul on offence, don’t you think? Maybe that decision should have been made on a coin toss... 👁‍🗨Woe is me - says every Rider fan now that the Jones experience is drawing to a close. Their knight in shining armour has forsaken the crusade..As it turns out, it’s Bighill for the Bombers...and Uphill for the Riders. 👁‍🗨Did you notice the field conditions in Kansas for their playoff game? Wayy better than what Edmonton presented. Gotta do better for such an important game..

  20. Lapo might be disappointed but he's far too polite and professional to let it impact anything else. Honestly I can't see him even wanting that job in Saskatchewan anyway. No qb, no canadian depth, it's the same **** that got him fired in Winnipeg as a head coach. Throw in that he'd have to keep assistant coaches? No I don't really buy this "Lapo is pissed off" narrative. To me it sounds like click bait.

  21. If LaPo wanted to be a head coach so badly, he could have pounced on several of the previous opportunities he has had. This isn't just about becoming a head coach. Its clear he is/was more interested in the Rider job because its still close to family. I'd feel bad about this if it was December. For those looking to blame Ottawa, Winnipeg or whoever else, the blame pretty clearly still lies with Chris Jones.

  24. Typically I would be in agreement with you but its really hard right now with the amazing depth this team has on the offensive line. I don't think we really have a ratio breaker that can fill in for Loffler for 18 games without there being a noticeable downgrade or end up changing the ratio. If Chung signs somewhere else i feel like Geoff Gray could step right in there and offer more than Chung did his first year in the CFL. If both Goosen and Chung come back it kind of creates a logjam with all the guys we currently have under contract.

  28. Whether LaPo is happy or not, I'm just glad the Bombers have a G.M. in place with enough common sense and the cojones to say N.F.W.. If LaPo is so offended that he wishes to leave the team at the end of this season it gives them a full year to search for his replacement. It's probably happening anyway, so best prepare.

We are loading up for a run at the cup, and he is a big piece of our team. Im glad we are holding on to him. Sorry SK, the juggernaut is gonna be on hold for at least another year.

  35. To be honest, Id put the all-time team in a 3-4 alignment. We've got a killer nose tackle, and 3-4 jack pass rusher and a glut at LBer. my 2c. I feel like Fortney is a guy who played at a stellar level but isn't easily quantifiable with stats. I think this is also the nature of DL men. Some guys explode off the stat sheet, while others dominate without stats. Also, averaging over 17 games per year for 11 straight years with 426 tackles and 52 sacks for a dt that mostly played on the nose, and was abnormally tall, lean and athletic is unreal. This was prior to the next generation big athlete being commonplace. As incredible a person as a player, and every bit as smart on and off the field too. Truly one of the most exceptional people and players in history.

  36. I don't think January is too late for an ast to interview for a HC job. I also think its a bad move 99% of the time when you prevent an ast coach from interviewing/taking a HC job. This might be the 1% though. Personally, im not a big fan of plops play calling. I think he is a phenomenal leader and coach of players. He tends to out-think himself but I think he is better as a HC then as an OC. Id be happy in general to see him move on to a HC job any place else in the league, other then sask.

  37. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a big story. I can understand why LaPo would be upset and I'm sure Elizondo felt similar as well. But still, everyone including LaPo needs to also understand the situation. If Jones leaving this late in the offseason was such a big blow to the Riders, why would any other team WILLINGLY bring that on themselves too?

  39. The guy is a jerk.. However... He did the bombers a huge favor. Perhaps without having his salary freed up it would have been spent elsewhere and we wouldn't have been able to sign and later extend Bighill. Had he not done what he did Steveler would have a whole lot less experience now than he has and I would argue he helped the team more last season than Durant would have or an alternative to Durant like Kevin Glenn would have. It really worked out well for the Bombers and poorly for Durant lol

The gag order is officially over so I can talk about it finally. Im really happy this Doc happened and I have to say, it was among the highlights of my time in wrestling (if not THE highlight). Because it made everything worth it. And I was treated with a lot of respect and to be made to feel like a big part of it. And in fact, I was. I received a cold call from one of the producers last spring/summer and they were basically starting from scratch and had only my name and Don Callis' name and didnt know who else to talk to or how to get in touch with them. So I feel pretty good about the fact that I pretty much controlled their Winnipeg-aspect of the project. It was a lot of fun. Spent a lot of time with the producers/directors etc. Did a lengthy interview myself. It was super professional. And of course, gave them a lot of PCW footage to use. Additionally, they were on hand for our last Omega event in October with multiple cameras/lights etc set up. That was the event Don Callis did the angle with Kenny that got the social media buzz.

  46. Blame lies with Chris Jones? Interesting opinion. I guess the Riders should have held him back? I actually wouldn't want a guy who didn't want to be there, it will show in his effort. Lapo is far from anyone's first choice anyway. I would be very concerned about him not having the balls to make the tough call. I think he is too nice to ever be a head coach. That being said, I have much respect for him as a coach
