  1. The man is doing things to give the CFL more exposure and opening up possibities for future development of players, and more importantly, revenue streams. Better than sitting and waiting for the football world to pass us by while we wait for things to happen. We need more forward thinking like this. Absolutely no harm in talking and exploring this avenue.

  3. Top Canadian prospects will still be competing....these international adds just means more players at the combine, and I bet of all the affiliations...you maybe might see 1...maybe 2 make it to a TC on a couple teams....but if it increases exposure..revenue possibilities etc....whats it hurt...rather have the Commish be progressive and think outside the box then have another Orridge or someone who has no clue

  9. Whether the Stadium deal has or has not. Anything to do with the Comish isn’t really the point. The CFL got too far ahead on this expansion without any real foundation as to if or how this stadium was going to get built. A 6,000 person interest level on tickets is hardly a basis to believe this is viable.

  10. Stadium deals has nothing to do with the commish. And I don't know, maybe it's just me. But typically when I think of "progressive" my mind goes to things that are rather new or haven't been tried before. Not doing very similar things the league and other commissioners have tried multiple times with varying degrees of success.

Lions drew an average 14,769.” - Mike Beamish BUT According to published #CFL figures, #BCLions averaged 19,975 fans (avg. increase of 800 from 2017) in 2018 season. Easier said than done when the trolls in this sub-forum (not just this thread) twist what others post and have no valid counterpoints whatsoever. It's akin to basically feasting on garbage, which they seem to do gleefully.

    The Gender Pay Gap

Lol this is an extreme reach to justify the argument. One (albeit very poor) example does not mean that this is a real issue. When folks like Mark become pedantic then it's clear that they have zero argument and are either blind-fully following what they read or are just trying to troll. I'll gladly read any job postings Mark that you can find on larger companies that have in that posting where it shows that they pay a higher wage based on gender.

  19. I think you are trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, purely to try and defend an imaginary issue created by politicians to generate a victimhood mentality.

    Wrestling

Treated more like a sport, where wins and losses matter. A newer, fresher look. Commentary that calls the action likes it real. There was talk FOX wanted Brock and Ronda on their show. That sort of things. Bryan was starting to tread water and they kind of cut him off a bit. The heel gimmick is great. Dont judge him by the reaction he got on SD this week as it was in his home state. But he's going to get some people supporting him because his gimmick is something generally worth supporting. Plus its Bryan. Its actually a good idea in that he wont feel as compelled to have the big hot matches and that likely preserves his body. Rumor has it, it might be Bryan vs Cena at WM so the heel turn makes sense there too. I think they wanted opponents for Styles also.

  30. I think progressive would be working on a stadium deal in Atlantic Canada, strengthening USports brand recognition/CFL connection and get some kind of player/market deal with the Big Ten... Its nice to develop Europe but the NFL is actively pushing the Canadian market... this feels more like 'retreating'...

  35. @jamienye .@CFLPA has expressed to the league indicating they want to begin negotiations in early March on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. #CFL Thanks odd. Considering the insiders on this site that keep saying it's the commishs world wide adventure that has stopped the negotiations from taking place...hhhmm..

  40. Fat Matt...? What are you, 12 years old? Adequate is still significantly better than non-existent, though. Don't expect that defense to carry the busted up green machine for another season, lest you want to see another home playoff loss again. It's really amazing how you show up here just to stir the pot. Remember these two words: glass barns.

  41. So then if the opposite happened and a woman was given the higher role after being trained by a man, then you would agree that there is a gender pay gap that discriminates against men? Really?

  43. Do we know all the facts , did the others have higher pay because they had more experience and/or qualifications? A one off example isn't exactly showing that gender pay gap exists. I seen the same scenario with the roles reverse where a female has been given a job because either she slept her way to the top or was married/dating someone with a higher position ... I don't consider that gender pay gap .... Now show me something where a big company like Wal-Mart or Costco pays a female cashier 15 dollars an hour and a male cashier 18 dollars an hour and then I will believe in this pay gap. Telling me that you know a buddy who was screwed over for a position because a male got the job is not even close to showing that gender pay gap exists. I can safely assume that nearly everyone in life has seen someone more qualified being passed over for a promotion because the head boss was buddies with whoever they gave the position to. That's not gender pay gap... that's just a typical crappy part of life.

  45. No it isn't. I've seen it before in the Gov't where person A is *acting* in the role but can't fill the role because they are missing a specific education or job experience. Person B comes in and gets the job even if they are far less productive and knowledgeable and Person A is required to train Person B despite acting in that role for a year. For your example one person is being hired as a boss/manager. Usually managers pull a higher salary then their employees. Maybe that "man" was better qualified we don't know? What if they hired a female instead? It still wouldn't be fair but what would you call that? I'd like to see real examples where two people share the exact same job duties, have the exact same education, have the same job experience where the male makes more money then the female?
    1 point
  46. I've seen that exact same thing happen a few times over my career. With both genders. I wouldn't consider this to be the norm though?

Lol only idiots want a 20 yr old traded... His down year.. Still on pace for 40 goals. Id go 7 x 8. Hes a winger. Not a center. But goal scorers get paid.
