  1. Simionise I really hope wins job over Petermann in camp because he has the skill set that that they need. The big down the field receiver. Type of guy who catches only 50 balls but gets 1200+ yards.

  2. Simonese I think could grab that outside spot..regardless of ratio...He has the skill set for it and the body type to succeed there...now after a full season on the roster last year, an off-season to digest things after basically being out of the game for the better part of 2 years he should be able to come into camp at 100 percent and just play his game. you seen last year he has the skill as he roasted 2 of the top DB's in the league and he earned his chops on the special teams too..and if it came down to a decision between him and Peterman to be on the roster, or grab a starting spot then the wise bet is on Simonese as he has way more upside and potential, not to mention being in a spot to be more impactful..looking forward to TC to see how much he has progressed

  4. The last Grey Cup in Calgary was my absolute favourite non-Bomber live football experience. Not because the game was great or anything but because the annoying as **** rider fans were being obnoxious all damned day and you could hear their collective hearts all shatter at once and the sound of silence after the too many men penalty was the most glorious thing ever. But yeah, those prices are a bit stupid to sit in lame ass McMahon Stadium.

  6. I'm not sure if Simonise is good enough to be a starter, but I really want to see him given the chance to succeed or fail of his own accord, because on PAPER, he looks more than good enough to start for pretty much anyone...

Nope, was always the plan to get it in this year and have been working towards since the first budget in 2016. It's actually a year early than a lot of people expected (but right on cue for those that have been watching). It would have been nice if they could have just balanced (or nearly balanced) the budget instead of adding an additional $350M in debt. The province owes around $26B. For those that budget watch, you'll note that they increased Enabling Appropriations - Internal Service Adjustments. If I were laying off a ton of people and had to pay out severance, that's where I would put the money to do so. It went up over $30M. I know some is going to MB 150 but they're not putting more than $30M into that over and above the $45M they're committing in infrastructure. And the MGEU agreement ends April 1st.

  11. BC - As Mike Reilly looks to reinvigorate the Lions’ fan base, the early results are encouraging with the team reporting its largest season ticket renewal rate since 2012 (Ed Willes, Vancouver Province). Calgary - Despite the Stamps losing a number of key pieces this off-season, odds-makers agree that Calgary remains the early-2019 Grey Cup favourite (Justin Dunk, 3 Down Nation). Winnipeg - Bombers GM Kyle Walters says Canadian receivers Daniel Petermann and Rashaun Simonise could make a strong push for more playing time next season (Ed Tait, BlueBombers.com). – If the Bombers opt to start a third American O-lineman in Manase Foketi, the club is well-equipped to start three Canadian receivers (John Hodge, 3 Down Nation). Ottawa - Rick Campbell says Dominique Davis is 1-A and Jonathon Jennings is 1-B as the team prepares for an open competition for the starting quarterback job (Tim Baines, Ottawa Sun).

  20. haha probably. I feel like it could collapse at any time, but at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow were in camp next year to start another season. Just burning through empty promises or venture capital. I like that these guys are getting a chance to play, I'm a big believer in leagues like circulating talent and being good for everyone. I just wish the guys got paid, but not more then the CFLers.

  24. One man's take: This category will be more subjective, as o-linemen don't have sexy stats to bolster their cases. Best bet is to look at their all-star nods or awards to see how they were regarded across the league, but even that is tricky because the awards did not come into play until the 1970's for o-linemen specifically. I have tried to include a personal bio, but even then in a few cases the info is lacking. So I welcome any personal insights. As for me, there are 2 names I have heard mentioned in my time as a Bomber fan, so I pretty much boil it down to those 2. Speedflex nominated Desjardins, but alas I could not find a bio about him, so I have no frame of reference. Adelman did double duty in multiple positions and also managed the club during his player retirement, so bonus points there. Druxman played in the glory years and blocked for Leo Lewis, and bonus points for his connection to the Pemby, where I imbibed on more than a few occasions during my mis-spent youth. Wilson may hold the Bomber record for most Grey Cups appeared in, and all must be commended for coming from or staying in the local community. But for me it comes down to Swift versus Bonk. Swift was a converted running back who paved the way for a new breed of centre speciailst after many years of players having multiple positions on the field. He gave way to Bonk (whose name alone screams offensive lineman) who excelled at the position for over a decade, blocking for the likes of William Miller and Willard Reaves during his MOP season in 1984, when Bonk was the best o-lineman in the game. Bonk was the most decorated awards-wise, and he was a rock in the middle of that line. His iron man streak is all the more impressive given the physical beating his position would require of him. John Bonk is my obvious pick here.

  30. America's response to World War II climate change, was the most extraordinary mobilization of an idle economy in the history of the world. During the war (on climate change) 17 million new civilian jobs were created, industrial productivity increased by 96 percent, and corporate profits after taxes doubled. The government expenditures helped bring about the business recovery that had eluded the New Deal. (Climate) War needs directly consumed over one-third of the output of industry, but the expanded productivity ensured a remarkable supply of consumer goods to the people as well. America was the only economy that saw an expansion of consumer goods despite wartime rationing. BY 1944, 2030, as a result of wage increases and overtime pay, real weekly wages before taxes in manufacturing were 50 percent higher than in 1939. 2020. The war also created entire new technologies, industries, and associated human skills. The war (on climate change) brought full employment and a fairer distribution of income. . Wages increased; so did savings. The war (on climate change) brought the consolidation of union strength and far-reaching changes in agricultural life. Housing conditions were better than they had been before. WW2 summary updated to reflect new most serious threat.

  34. Look at it this way, the NHL's plan was to introduce TWO new teams. The 30 NHL teams all supported it because they were getting a piece of the expansion fees. Vegas was one of the two new teams so they dont get to share in the expansion fee. It would be like if Seattle joined the league the same year as Vegas. The other 30 teams get the money, not the expansion teams. Losing one player, unless somehow you lose a super elite player, is worth the $20 million. Last time, Jets really lost nothing of much value. We'll see what happens this time but it could be a case of exposing someone that actually serves the Jets interests in reducing salary (as someone else noted). Given the choice, the Jets would always choose to take the money and lose a player. Its a lot of money.

Customer " I'll have the $5 fatboi special" DTG " Ok sir...that also comes with two free tickets to the next AAF game" Customer " Can I get a free gravy for my fries instead of the tickets?" DTG "I'm sorry sir, that substitution is not allowed." Customer "Ok then....I was just trying to get something of actual value instead." DTG " I understand sir and don't blame you for trying" Customer " keep the tickets....it's your tip" DTG (grumbles under his breath) " Some tip I can't even give these things away."

  41. No, that's not it. Read the caption in my post. Foley and the NHL made a deal that for his team to be exempt, it wouldn't receive a cut of Seattle's $650M expansion fee. It's not a commissioner playing favourites. At all. I don't understand these lame attempts by fans to vilify Bettman. At the end of the day, he represents the BOG and its interests.

Anything is possible but I doubt it. Unless Roman can convince Ambrose that WWE really really means it this time. If Im unhappy with creative over five years and at contract time they promise to make it better, by answer would be "why now, why not three years ago?" So I think Ambrose probably leaves and apparently that is still the plan as of this week. Which would explain why he lost to Elias when he should have won to heat him up for the Shield reunion. Ambrose hates the corny creative, prefers more realism. I dont think its money as he was offered over a million per year to stay. I think he probably wants more freedom and if he can make close to the same money, why not? he wont be able to use the name though. Previously he worked as Jon Moxley and his real name is Jon Good.
