  9. Really think that modern sports have become so fast paced now that it is very difficult to ref any sport. Add to that every play now is gone over with a fine tooth comb every small miss is picked up.

It really is amazing, and how quickly a person can be come inured to the goings on in the US under Trump and his helpers. At least maybe the blinkers will be removed for some of the people that still think America is the moral leader of the world. Edit just saw another poll half of people surveyed think Mueller inquiry is a "witch hunt" Repeat a lie often enough..... etc.

  12. Lost in the talk of the upcoming CFL Combine in Toronto: MARCH 20 - 22 - RULES COMMITTEE & FOOTBALL OPERATIONS COMMITTEE MEETINGS These meetings will be held in Toronto, Ontario. 👁‍🗨 High on their list of discussions will be the how to offset the berating of officials by players and Coaches. There was an escalation over the last 2 seasons and there are plans in place to deter further comments. They will call this new directive “Skip the Dissing” 😀

  14. No, but someone who is willing to hand wave away the **** Kenney did to win the leadership of a party that really only exists because he wanted it to exist.... This is what you want for a premier? Because of a carbon tax from the NDP? We were getting either that or a provincial sales tax last time regardless so 6 of one half a dozen of the other. Kenney gonna cut taxes on the rich and starve the beast, that sounds lovely for regular Albertans like you and I. But hey, we can just all bootstrap ourselves up right? Kenney is garbage in a human suit, I am no NDP supporter but at least Rachel Notley has been a pragmatic leader, arguably the only one of her kind in Canada right now. We need more like her, not Jason Kenneys who are more concerned with making the rich richer and making sure that gay kids know that it's not OK to be gay.

  16. Yeah, all the irrational, emotionally-charged comments from you in this thread clearly demonstrate you didn't care. So, is it favour vets or overplay them...? You're not even making sense. And if pretty much every coach does it, why even mention it? You call others sheep and accuse them of having their panties in a bunch over a pretty inconsequential roster decision, but you've been flying off the handle since the decision was made yesterday, pompously crapping on anyone who's disagreed with your opinions. I think it's pretty clear who's wearing the bunched up panties as far as Jets fans go on this forum.

  23. You obviously have never referred before...or else if you did, you were perfect. Yes, the refs in the CFL do get it wrong sometimes...at times even ***** stupid calls. But heh, NFL refs make some really bad calls and they are full time. If I'm a player, I'd feel like cussing out a ref sometimes too, but I'd expect a penalty for it.

I do wonder, however, how many of the supporters really think about Trump as a person rather then just "siding with" whomever is their parties guy. We see that even on this board. Trump could probably show up to a presser in a KKK hood and announce the end of democratic elections, appoint himself Emperor and there will still be people who "support" him because "their guys" is in charge. It works both ways. But in the case of the GOP, they have been pulled really far right. And I think its partially because *that* base is not at all open to being lured to anyone else. Its super consistent. In theory, what they've done should be the end of the GOP as a Presidential option for many many years. But because they won last time, I think they're willing to give it another go and see if they use whatever means, legal or otherwise, to build upon that consistent base. And for a lot of voters, they just dont care and they dont pay attention. When they hear "economy is good", it literally wouldn't matter who was President. Thats the big ticket item. If the economy urns, Trump's approval would drop to that consistent white national base. What I wonder about is how many of that 42% are people who are right wing so they wont say he's doing a bad job but still dont like him...in other words, if the GOP ran someone against Trump, how many of those 42% would jump to a right wing candidate who isnt a racist, moronic assclown? I think this also tells the Dems that they shouldn't bother trying to be "moderate" or closer to center in an effort to lure white wing'ers to their side. It isnt going to happen. They have to be true to their liberalism and motivate those people to vote. They'll win if they do.

Dude I am one of those hurting oil patch workers. Geoscientists were hit harder than anyone else in Calgary, but if you think Jason Kenney is going to magically make jobs reappear you are beyond hope of being reasonable. Notley never promised a pipeline in exchange for a carbon tax, it was framed as showing good faith negotiating with Canada and it did a lot to get the general public in Canada on her side, problem was BC was never going to go for it without a massive pay out, and do you think Jason Kenney was going to give Alberta dollars to BC? I don't. I say she is pragmatic because she put a lot of those socialist ideals behind her to work towards was is best for Alberta. That's the kind of politician I want. Someone who is about the common good as opposed to their ideology. Again I don't trust the NDP party for ****, but I trust her a hell of a lot. Also, drop this alliance with Trudeau thing, that's a UCP talking point that is BS. She's been working for Albertans with whoever is willing to work with her including the federal government. Certainly a better option than launching into a red faced tirade like Kenney seems to think would be the answer. Hell was just reading about the UCP candidate in my riding and she sounds like a truly awful person. Her biggest point of emphasis was how she wanted to roll back the legislation providing more support for people in domestic violence situations. We are at a point where regressive governments are a bad idea. We need to continue to elect progressives. Haven't had a regressive government since Ralph Klein and we still need to keep going down that path. Massive oil royalties aren't coming back soon and the government needs to actually act like a government now.

Yes, too bad. I might order one when I'm in the US. I was hoping to get a Google Max on clearance at Costco but I doubt I'll find one. I was going to get the Lenovo during the Black Friday sales but feared having to get a divorce if I did.

Wait... what "Dem tricks" are you talking about? Anyway... This isn't about whether or not she lied about it... it has to do with the amount of stock people put into the transgression. I mean people have completely written off what she says/stands for/ proposes to do because of a small transgression she has already apologized profusely to the proper people. Unfortunately, those small minded people are missing out on an awesome candidate who would do so much for the USA's middle class and marginalized people. But it is trump being a racist bully that appeals to the weak minded and those that don't see themselves as a racist or a bully. oh, and a side note- your Warren/Ivory meme smacks of white supremacy and hints at aryan notions; equating White with purity. you should be careful about the memes you post, people might think you are a white supremacists (Not saying you are, hence the "heads up").

Sham? Jason Kenney would be right at home in the wild rose. He is the worst kind of crony capitalist plus he is a bigot on top of it. He is under criminal investigation for his leadership campaign... and you want this guy as premier? What's he going to do to help the economy? Rape the middle class to pay for his rich benefactors benefit that's what. You are entitled to vote for him if you want to, but how anyone can see the kind of person he is and willingly vote for his party I will never figure out.

  43. lol rhetorical is right. A ton! He was generous with his booze and weed if he invited you over though (I didnt smoke, but I enjoyed his booze). He had been longtime friends with the manager of the bar and partied together a lot during the era when Burton sang the national anthem at Jets games. Burton was "the Sheriff" and the bar manager was "The deputy". I remember a story where they went all night and Burton had an afternoon game. They got him to the arena and he was passed out in the green room, carried to the ice level and when it was his time to sing, he suddenly bolted upright, walked out, sang perfectly, walked back and passed out again. He used to play for us at his home. And with the same gusto as a concert. Amazing he can still sing the way he treats his voice. Great guy though. Super nice. One time, I took my then-gf to his house and she was too young to know who he was but I was showing her around and she loved that I was excited. We get to Burton's bedroom (which was sparse save for a single bed and small TV in the middle of the room). We're sort of making out and Burton suddenly walks in, is surprised to see us, apologies for interrupting and leaves.

  46. I look at the American players in the CFL and wonder, if it’s so easy, why the teams can’t replace the bottom 18 American players who come up to Canada and don’t exactly light the league on fire. And you have to admit, there are a lot of import players who should be replaced. So, what’s the problem? It must be easy to get the highest talent available, so, it must be about the money. BUT, if we sell out just for the money, then, we’re doing it wrong anyways, because the bottom lot don’t make that money. It’s the top end, and what’s to stop those salaries from increasing dramatically in Free Agency with less competition? And, ask yourself, if Andrew Harris would be on top in the league if he never got a chance in the 1st place? After all, the best RBs are imports, and they’re a “dime a dozen”...right?
