👁🗨A little Bailey with my coffee please... He didn’t make a mistake. He did everything right,” Bombers offensive coordinator Paul LaPolice said of Bailey. “Every rep he ran at 100 miles per hour, he caught almost every ball thrown to him. You always talk to these guys about having staying power. You can’t be great Day 1 and average Day 2, great Day 3, average Day… you have to be great every day and every rep he had he did very well. “He’s got good speed and picked up the waggle right away. He had a good camp.” https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/04/25/314598/?utm_source=dlvr.it6 points -

Tesla Model 3 Performance Crushes Fossil BMW M3 fossil fans’ favorite sports saloon, around Race Track. A lead of almost 2 seconds on a 2 mile track (with lap times around 85 seconds in total) is significant. Both vehicles were stock without modifications, and were lapped by the same driver. On the feel of the two vehicles around the track, the testers found that for the BMW, compared to the Tesla: “when you floor it, the throttle response is glacial by comparison, and the accompanying racket isn’t quite as glorious as you remember — more of a distraction from listening to what the tyres are doing and getting on with the business of going fast.” We’ve already seen battery electrics beat out fossils at the Pikes Peak hill climb (outright record), on the Nürburgring Nordschleife (production cars record), and at other racetracks. In each case, these are just the first tentative generations of full electric sports cars, with huge scope for further improvementshttps://cleantechnica.com/2019/04/25/tesla-model-3-performance-crushes-fossil-bmw-m3-around-race-track/ Used 35000 km Nisssan leaf, is around 15,000.3 points -

Merger talks between cbs and Viacom are ramping up again. In terms of Trek news it would bring the TV and Film sides back together. Most likely Alex Kurtzman would end up producing new films if that happened. The bigger picture is helping CBS in the so called “streaming wars” by making them a bigger player. A combined entity would also make a better acquisition for the bigger dogs.2 points -

Over dramatic aren't we? Fans are mostly angry with Ambroise do to Xenophobia and change resistance. The league needs to be proactive and look for new opportunities to grow the game. Better than any commish in memory he is doing that. Let him follow through on the CFL 2.0 and then judge him based on that.2 points -

CIS Draft - May 2nd
Piggy 1 and one other reacted to JuranBoldenRules for a topic
Hate the CFL policy on this. Let them stay in the draft, suspend them. Now they aren't in the draft and can't play CIS this season either. I know they want a show of force in punishments but it's not like the prospect pool is all that deep. Punish but at least allow these guys to have a shot at a career.2 points -

Brandon isn't anywhere near fielding a CJFL team for 2 reasons: Finance: It costs approx 350,000 per year to field a team in the PFC, driven by very high travel costs. Unless a very wealthy benefactor steps up, it's not likely to happen. The costs are lower in the BCFC as they can "day trip" to most of their games. Market Size: There have been some very good football players come out of Brandon, but it and the surrounding area just don't have enough players to compete at a national level. There are 3 high school teams in Brandon, that simply is too small of a pool of players to draw from. They are better suited to the MMJFL, where the costs are much lower. Chilliwack wouldn't be able to compete in the Prairie Conference. Actually none of the BC teams would. It's been 10 years since a BCFC team beat a PFC team in any game (there were a few inter-locking games a couple of years ago) and it really was only a small window "the Andrew Harris years" when a BC team won (06, 08, 09), The 07 game went to the PFC, as did every game for the 5 years before. The level of play is just much higher on the prairies. Most CJFL players that go on to the CFL do so through U sports. Typically a player will be with a CJFL club for 3-5 years and then jumps to the university level and plays there for another 2-4 years. There are some who go from CJFL directly to the CFL, but they are rare.2 points -

CIS Draft - May 2nd
wbbfan reacted to SpeedFlex27 for a topic
Considering the CFL's record on how they handle PED's it's kind of ironic they force the players out of the draft. Yet Quinn Smith & others were suspended by U Sports & it didn't matter. They were suspended from playing Canadian college yet the CFL didn't honour Smith's suspension. I know they have made changes since. Hard to believe also that Farhan Lalji believes a player he knows when he tells him he had no knowledge. That I find hard to believe. My son played at SFU & he knew as well as the physicians & trainers on the team which drugs were banned & which weren't by the NCAA.1 point -

Well yeah... if a strike lasted long enough to make that happen then he'd be fired I guess with a long with everyone else. Obviously, a one day or one week strike would have next to zero impact on the league. Many of the CFL fans who are highly critical of his handling of the labor negotiations have kept tying that into his Global initiative even though the two are completely unrelated. You see comments on facebook all the time of people saying "he's too busy spending time in Mexico to negotiate" and other similar red herring comments. These are people who are clearly irked by the whole Global Initiative. He didn't delay the negotiations because he was too busy it was obviously a pressure creating tactic. Just like not paying bonuses and just like the players threatening to strike. These are all tactics used to create pressure. With no pressure, there is typically no movement in negotiations. I have no doubt there will be an agreement with no games having to be rescheduled but it wouldn't surprise me if we ended up missing a day or two of camp.1 point -

I generally refrain from making critical comments about quantum physics. I have never studied it or had any personal experience with it. Then why do so many people make critical statements about collective bargaining? Better to be quiet and be thought of as stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.1 point -

For the most part I can’t say that CFL football fans put much thought into what the Commish does or doesn’t do. His performance in the role is far down the list of fan priorities way behind, exciting players, controversial coaches, great stadiums, excessive price of refreshments, crappy weather/schedules and the list goes on. And anyone here can identify any concern they may have...so no ctiticism intended.1 point -

If labour piece isn't reached before a strike I think you can consider Randy Ambrosie's term as Commissioner a huge failure & I would hope he is asked to leave when his contract expires. The league withholding bonuses due in the off season as well as the frustrating delay of 3 weeks in bargaining this month has hurt Ambrosie's credibility with fans & players. I really don't know of many who either like him or think he is doing a great job. It's one thing to hate Gary Bettman but the NHL is 50 times bigger than the CFL. Fans will boo Bettman but still attend games. With the CFL, the league is much smaller. If fans are angry at Ambrosie, it's because he isn't doing a good job, they don't feel a connection to him any longer & he's messing with something we feel belongs to us. That is ours. A part of our own. That's a pretty sleep slope to maneuver if the CFL chooses to go down it. The other thing I find frustrating is Ambrosie & the CFL bargaining committee should have said to the Players Association to roll up their sleeves as we're going to keep meeting until we get a deal instead of just Monday & Tuesday. It's like they're not taking any of this seriously.1 point -
Was just having a conversation with a marketing person at my office about this, because they're always trying to get us to do more Video/Audio content for use online, and I was raging about how that **** is stupid, and whatever happened to a quality written piece...? Can't wait. Always felt a certain amount of anxiety over the way it finished. It needed a fourth season but we were robbed of that. Now, although set into the future, we'll get some closure. Al Swearengen may be my favourite TV character of all time. Ian McShane has replaced Tim Curry for me as the "must watch" actor. There's not much I won't seek out when he's in it. Although, Tim Curry is still a must-watch.1 point -

Question for you guys. With all the attention Danny Mac has been getting lately on 3downnation and Bluebombers.com has he recruited into the CFL one top notch offensive player? I feel like he's found some defensive gems but overall our American scouting has been sub-par. Walters has been finding more all-stars in the Canadian draft then our American scouting department has done. When I look at the Americans we have on offense they are all free agent signings or guys we got in trade. Stanley Bryant, Hardrick, Nichols (trade), and Adams. That's something that's going to have to change very quickly or this team is going to be in trouble. Yes, there are a couple of promising backups in Streveler and Flanders but nothing impacting our starting offense has come from our American scouting department. Am I wrong? And if im not how is the possible?1 point -

"For the first time, University of Guelph biologists have tracked an annual migration of up to 20,000 kilometres made by the 12-gram blackpoll warbler, one of the fastest declining songbirds in North America." “It’s amazing,” said Norris, who worked on the study with Hilary Cooke, associate conservation scientist with Wildlife Conservation Society Canada. “A bird weighing a couple of loonies travels from the western edge of North America all the way to the Amazon basin – and, in between, traverses the Atlantic Ocean.” https://news.uoguelph.ca/2019/03/tiny-songbird-makes-record-migration-u-of-g-study-proves/?fbclid=IwAR1N8DdV6inWGedsFndroRGaaZG9Jn7RGrigFeDeR_wL5tVfE-TqqxYaL4I1 point
