Such a **** move by the Lions to wait this long to cut a HOFer who has spent his whole career in BC. Gotta wonder if the CFLPA stuff factors into that timing. Also sure he was owed offseason money and wonder if the Lions/league will follow through. Bombers should check the price, might be good value.

I would hate to see us blow our load on a WIL, and not have the money to go after a big time receiver that might shake loose prior to the season, but I trust Walters to know his cap situation as well or better than anyone...

Bighill in the middle and Jefferson on the line... Would the price of elimimian bring enough of a gain in our defense to warrant it? That said the name of the game for winning championships is defense...

I'd assume the idea would be the old guy would be out of touch of what fans want these days and by bringing in the young guys it will somehow change the current product. I completely disagree with this.

A smart GM will always inquire about the price, to know if it fits the cap. Not everyday you’ll get a chance to get a crack of Soli’s caliber. For me, I dont mind to see Bighill & Elimimian playing back together in Blue& Gold.

Who said anything about Dana? I do agree with not believing what he says though. The gate for the event was about 780k which, for a fight night, is above average. The card a week earlier in Fresno had a gate of 570k & Virginia a month earlier earned 640k. If you're strictly comparing it to the ppv event from years earlier, then yes it would be a disappointment but that's an apples/oranges comparison. If you compare it to other fight night cards across the continent, then it was actually a bit of a success.

Oh well - at least the Lions have a duck & chuck QB who didn't make the playoffs last year.

Hoping Anson Mount gets a Pike series. That would generate huge excitement if it came to pass. If any actor was meant to sit in the Captain's Chair on Enterprise right up there with William Shatner & Patrick Stewart, it's Mount.

I don’t have an issue with these positive team produced fluff pieces. My issue is that we get our hopes up and all these prospects fizzle out or just aren’t difference makers. When was the last time one of our receivers was courted by and jumped to the NFL? That right there is an indictment on our scouting of receivers.

It wasn't. It was a fight night card that sold just under 9k tickets which was their 2nd biggest North American crowd that year (for fight night cards anyway). The event went well, the card didn't get decimated by injuries and the fights (for the most part) delivered.

Well he’s now official for Starrcast so it makes me wonder if he was told no and he said forget it, im going and I quit. Hes a second generation wrestler. It’s in his blood. And agents are employees so they get road expenses covered plus a really good benefits package. I doubt he left just because he’s tired. But you never know. Timing is very interesting.

Basic rule of small business - which the cfl still is - make sure your basic business model is working before you expand into new markets or change your existing product nothing xenophobic about it montreal and Toronto are bleeding, Schooners still have big question marks, grey cup viewership down, etc... take baby steps towards cfl 2.0 sure... but ambrosia is jumping in with both feet and no plan

I have heard it said by political analysts that the US doesn't believe in democracy as an ideology so much as they believe in capitalism as their ideology. When they have invaded foreign countries to "prop up democracy and protect them from dictators", there have been instances where the deposed leaders were in fact democratically elected nut the country's policies were quite socialist (their words, not mine - I have not done the research to verify every "overthrow"). Point being, socialism is such a dirty word in the US that many are certain as loveable as Bernie is and no matter how much of a rock star he may be, the US will never elect a true socialist as President.

Over dramatic aren't we? Fans are mostly angry with Ambroise do to Xenophobia and change resistance. The league needs to be proactive and look for new opportunities to grow the game. Better than any commish in memory he is doing that. Let him follow through on the CFL 2.0 and then judge him based on that.

I'm getting really excited for this season to get going. I'm picking up my season tickets today. Bought Banjo Bowl tickets for family. And, bought Labour Day Game tickets for my friends and I. It will be my first Labour Day Game.

I'd prefer we didn't stand tried and true to this impeccable character thing..no issues past or present and actually employed some guys who walked on the edge or at times can be viewed as for a lack of a better term an assclown...because when you look at all championship teams they all have guys who are pricks..have issues...are dirty and stradle the line of common sense at times....the 5 years of having choir boys all throughout the club has won us nothing

Sorta like every old white guy (anyone over 45) is a racist.
