  1. A coach's hockey IQ when they were a player is definitely relevant. It's why Gretzky is also considered the greatest coach ever.

Liberals and Conservatives are both the same, they are beholden to money. It's just old money (liberals) vs. New money (conservatives)

  3. The thing people don't realize is that they never made money. Even when they finished first in the East for 10 out of 13 seasons they were bleeding cash on operating the team. The Alouettes existence relies on someone being willing to eat losses and pay the bills. At this point it's doubtful they could even host a Grey Cup in Montreal with no stadium to accommodate it, so can't even get the cash that comes with that.

  4. Loved last night's episode, though I think there a few flaws that will become more apparent once it sinks in. It's been that way the last couple of seasons though Questions to discuss; where was bran warging? If Beric played out his reason to be revived (saving Arya) , did the hound as well, or has he got another part to his story? Is Cersei sailing to Winterfell to pounce on the North before they recover? (episode 4 preview) Those that survived- what is there end story? Assuming they didn't survive just have a happy ending. I expect they have a role to play in the future. I've read a lot of the complaints about the episode, and much is usual internet complaining, but the only two real complaints I have are that it was too dark, and that not enough characters died for the size of the battle. As for the darkness, I will rewatch with my contrast adjusted. The second is that too many characters survived. You can't tell me that Sam , who can't fight, survived being at the first point of attack , along with Grey Worm, Jamie, Brienne, etc. Ghost as well. We saw with Shaggydog that a hoard can easily overrun a direwolf, but Ghost somehow survived.

  5. After the transactions today, we stand @ 69 + 2 non-counters. ( I did not count Firlotte as non-counter, not sure if he is) . So we still have room for some players like those WRs who had a good camp last week.

  6. Bombers have inked WR Josh Steward who is in mini-camp and played a few games in the AAF. He's 6'4 204 pounds.

What we need to do is stop treating corporations and the wealthy like they're better than everyone else. Hold them accountable for the **** they do, make them pay their share of taxes to fund programs that benefit everyone. Socialism, capitalism, communism, what ever else it is these are just theories. It's how those in charge implement them that determine their outcomes, and right now the north American society isn't really capitalism, more like the rich make the laws and give themselves breaks while squeezing the middle class as hard as they can.

  8. Read an article this morning about Cap going back for Peggy. It was an interesting idea that Cap is her husband all along and they have kids together but, after the time travel, he's just an ordinary guy who ages, albeit a little slower because of the serum. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/avengers-endgame-captain-america-ending-isnt-what-it-seems-1205370

  11. Hate the CFL policy on this. Let them stay in the draft, suspend them. Now they aren't in the draft and can't play CIS this season either. I know they want a show of force in punishments but it's not like the prospect pool is all that deep. Punish but at least allow these guys to have a shot at a career.

  18. Maurice is the worst situational coach in hockey, he has been his entire career, can't match lines, can't effectively juggle lines, has no feel for the game, doesn't know when to put out his best face off players at crucial times in a game, doesn't even know how to properly use a time out or challenge.

    The TV Thread

Enjoyed the GOT episode. I guess my TV is new enough that the darkness wasn't an issue for me... didn't even realize it was a problem till I saw it trending on twitter. For people who have not seen the episode yet, I'll put some other thoughts behind the spoiler feature

  23. A billionaire owner in the CFL works pretty well because any losses are like a drop in a bucket for them while they work on turning things around. Plus they have pro sports experience. Seems like an ideal situation for Montreal.

  24. Let's just say I think they have the necessary moola.....The family is heavily invested in the Montreal area and if any bunch can get this franchise back to respectable it's them....I can see why the league would back them as the new owners and that would be 'secure and reliable'

For about five minutes there was a move to get them back doing their job, european union started to do this. Then, didn't matter after all, and nothing was done.

  28. This could be the best news coming out of the whole thing. Re-integrating Gamora in the GOTG will be great too. ---- So, Spiderman's European Vacation takes place right after Infinity War. PP is just back after five years of being away, the whole world is adjusting to the new-new reality, and off the school goes on a trip to Europe? Hmmm.

  31. in 1992 I did a human resources project for my university class and my group chose the Calgary Flames, because they were all Flames fans (not me, but as a hockey fan, I went along with it). I was assigned two players to interview, Mike Vernon and Craig Berube. Berube at that time was Calgary's goon. He was very polite to interview. When I asked him what his post-hockey plans were, he said that he wanted to take over his dad's butcher shop in Calahoo, Alberta. Now when I see him behind the bench for St. Louis, beating our Jets, I wish that he had stuck to that plan.

  32. There were so many storylines to wrap up and I thought they did a good job of it. Where Infinity War encompassed all the MCU, this was a core Avengers movie, or that's the way it felt. I feel satisfied. Thor was the best, always is.

    CIS Draft - May 2nd

Considering the CFL's record on how they handle PED's it's kind of ironic they force the players out of the draft. Yet Quinn Smith & others were suspended by U Sports & it didn't matter. They were suspended from playing Canadian college yet the CFL didn't honour Smith's suspension. I know they have made changes since. Hard to believe also that Farhan Lalji believes a player he knows when he tells him he had no knowledge. That I find hard to believe. My son played at SFU & he knew as well as the physicians & trainers on the team which drugs were banned & which weren't by the NCAA.
