Virtual tour offers a peek inside Winnipeg's future Diversity Gardens Project worth $97.8-million set to open late 2020: Assiniboine Park Conservancy CBC News The Assiniboine Park Conservancy is offering a peek into its anticipated conservatory project, with a virtual tour showing what the Diversity Gardens project will look like when it's done. The development is set to open in late 2020, concluding the final major phase of the redevelopment of Assiniboine Park and Zoo that started in 2009. The makeover, originally estimated at $200 million, included improvements to the duck pond, the building of the Qualico Centre and the Nature Playground, and the revitalization of the zoo. The conservatory project will include an indoor conservatory called The Leaf, which will be five times larger and twice as tall as the old conservatory. The cost estimate for the project has jumped to $97.8 million from the original $75 million, the conservancy said in a news release Monday. The increase is due to multiple factors, including a one-year delay in construction and the overall design complexity of The Leaf, it said. The conservancy has said the roof of the structure will be made of an extremely lightweight, see-through plastic — ethylene-tetra-fluoro-ethylene — allowing the structure to be an open space without the use of heavy beams and walls. Construction on the shell started in summer 2017, and installation of the specialized roof is set to start in early fall. If that goes to plan, the biomes inside The Leaf will be planted in summer 2020, the conservancy said. The roof of the main building, called The Leaf, will be made of light-weight plastic that is translucent and able to withstand extreme temperatures and wind. Outside, a group of garden spaces will be collectively called the Diversity Gardens. Landscape work started last year, the conservancy said, and opening of the outdoor areas will depend on completion of The Leaf. So far, the project has secured $79.5 million from all levels of government, private donors and other sources, the conservancy said. That doesn't include newly confirmed dollars from private donors expected to be announced in the coming months, the release added. "With the ongoing support of our donors and government partners we are looking forward to completing this transformation and the opening of The Leaf and diversity gardens in late 2020," conservancy president Margaret Redmond said in the release.1 point -

Honestly, I'm not too far behind you. Might check scores, won't be watching any games.1 point -
My impression watching the episode was that Bran was warging to draw the Night King out to play, since the whole plan depended on the NK making a big run for the Godswood. I figured everyone who was at the end of their plotline would be dead, so I called Jorah and Theon and the flaming sword guy dying. I expected there'd be a shocking death that would abort or reconfigure a plotline, but nothing like that happened, so yeah I'm kinda with you itchy. But on the other hand, they've only got three episodes left so they gotta get this thing tidied away and concluded, probably no time for any big plot swings. Loved the Arya and Lady Mormont bits and the callback to Arya's pre-Faceless sword training.1 point

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Previoulsy bought the franchise as a distressed sale, called it the Concordes. Eventually rebranded as the Allouettes but still failed before 87. Dad From Wikipedia: Bronfman held various positions in the family's liquor empire, Seagram, from 1951 to 2000. In 1951 Bronfman's father Samuel Bronfman gave Charles a 33% ownership stake in Cemp Investments, a holding company for him and his 3 siblings which controlled the family's corporate empire. Under the leadership of Charles and brother Edgar, it controlled billions of dollars in liquor, real estate, oil and gas, and chemical companies.[3] Bronfman and his brother, Edgar, inherited the Seagram spirits empire in 1971 after the death of their father, Sam Bronfman. Bronfman is a former Co-Chairman of the Seagram Company Ltd. On the demise of the company: "It was a disaster, it is a disaster, it will be a disaster," he says. "It was a family tragedy."[2][4] Bronfman was also well known for his forays into professional sports. He was majority owner of the Montreal Expos franchise in Major League Baseball from the team's formation in 1968 until 1990. In 1982, a day after the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League collapsed due to financial troubles, Bronfman bought their remains and used them to start a new franchise, the Montreal Concordes. This venture proved far less successful – despite later rebranding the team as the Alouettes, the team folded prior to the start of the 1987 CFL season. Since 1986, he has served as Chairman of The Andrea and Charles Bronfman Philanthropies, Inc.[2] He plans to close the foundation in 2016.[5] From November 1997 until July 2002, Bronfman was the Chairman of the Board of Koor Industries Ltd., one of Israel's largest investment holding companies. He is the co-chairman of the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada. From 1999 to 2001, Bronfman was the first Chairman of the United Jewish Communities, the merged North American organization comprising United Jewish Appeal, the Council of Jewish Federations and United Israel Appeal. In April 2013, Bronfman was one of 100 prominent American Jews who sent a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urging him to "work closely" with Secretary of State John Kerry "to devise pragmatic initiatives, consistent with Israel's security needs, which would represent Israel's readiness to make painful territorial sacrifices for the sake of peace."[6]1 point
